Luce Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
From the moment we walked we felt so comfortable prosecco at the bar to table wine selection was very good food was all authentic Italian as if we were home fantastic flavors dessert on point and grappa to finish👌👌 carpaccio , pulpo to start gnocchi and fruit di mare finished with tortoni and cannoli we will be back for sure
The food here is very good and the ambiance is delightful if you like low key quiet dining. But my experience was entirely overshadowed by the rude treatment accorded to me by the host. Without boring you with the details, I will say that the manner in which I was treated was inconsistent with my past experiences with this restaurant. I do feel that my treatment would have different if I were male. I was willing to shrug it off, but both my son and daughter-in-law are adamant that we should find a different Italian restaurant at which to dine. Oh well. As Tom Colicchio says, you come to a restaurant for the food. You return for the service.
Food was delicious and a great value. Service was top notch. Our server, Manuel, couldn't be better. We went prior to a Bocelli concert but would consider driving 2 1/2 hours again to eat there! The location was also great as it is within walking distance of the Spectrum Center.
Special night with friends and dined at Luce's before the Bocelli concert. Everyone ordered something different and the food was amazing! I had the Branzino fish and is hands down the best meal I've ever had. The service was exceptional....thank you for a very special evening! We'll be back!
My husband and I love Luce’s and don’t go often enough. It didn’t disappoint this time either. We arrived early but were able to be seated within minutes. Our wait staff was superb. The food was terrific, the choices for Queens feast were delicious! We will be back!
I have been to Luce once before, about 4 years ago, and it was great. This experience was awful. The food and service were not good at all. I took my Mom there for dinner before taking her to see Phantom of the Opera. I told the host, when I called to confirm the reservation, that we were going to the theater and wanted to make sure I had given us enough time to have a relaxing meal. He assured me we had plenty of time. Our salad plates sat on the table for 20 minutes after we were through with them before they were cleared. We had a very tough time getting our waiter's attention and when we finally did get his attention and mentioned we were going to the theater and needed to get our food quickly, he told me I should have told him we were going to the theater. Hum? There's no excuse for having our salads sit there for 20 minutes and taking 30 minutes to get one entree and a soup.
As for our food . . . we had the muscles, which were fishy. I believe we had two each and couldn't eat any more. I had the beet salad, however the beets had no flavor at all. The goat cheese was the only thing that gave the salad taste. My Mom had the caesar salad, which was the only good thing we had. I had the butternut squash soup (the soup special that evening) as my entree and it had very, very little flavor. I took three bites and that was two too many. My Mom had the cheese ravioli and it was incredibly bland for such a basic plate, but the worst part was how thick and chewy the pasta was. This was definitely not the experience I had the first time. I have always heard great things about Luce, but it will be tough for me to go back and pay those prices for food that bland.
I have to admit, I did not mention these things to the waiter. I am not a confrontational person, but also as mentioned, we were in a hurry to get to the theater after waiting so long for our food. He had already made me feel like it was my fault we were running late, so I kept quite.
Food was overall good but my service was not. Had a reservation for 5 and my server himself was not attentive. The ladies who were walking around filling up my water glass and taking the dishes were so much more attentive. They were super nice. Came to our table with a smile every time whereas our server didn’t even look our way while taking our order and every time one of us asked a question he seemed annoyed. I expected better service but food and ambiance of the restaurant was overall good.
I reserved a table for 2 two weeks in advance and when we got to restaurant they didn't have our reservation. I'm not sure who's fault this is either Open Table or Luce but still trying to give a fair review. They had one small table by the kitchen and bathroom that they gave us so we were grateful for that. The food was just ok for my husband and me and the portions seemed kind of small. We had the tartar for an appetizer which was really good. However, our waiter, I think his name was Antonio, was exceptional. He was very attentive and very nice; we never had to wait for anything. We were running late for a show and he boxed up our dessert in a blink of an eye! I would try them again if the occasion presented.
Loved it! We had never eaten here before. Wonderful service and Italian food. We had the bruschetta and meatball for appetizers. I had the beet salad (needed more arugula in my opinion) and the Mare linguine which was divine. My husband had the house salad and tagliatelle and really enjoyed both. Great Italian wine and reasonable prices. We will be back!
We went for restaurant week. Everyone ordered a different entree. My daughter and I shared two entrees. We both felt that the halibut was a little dry. The fusilli with short ribs and meatballs was delicious. My girlfriend’s risotto was amazing. Another friend had the ravioli and she loved it. I had a delicious French martini. Overall, a delightful evening out.
Fabulous New Years Eve dinner. My wife and I are not big on New Years Eve partying, so wanted a standard fine dining experience. The martini at the bar was exquisite, the staff professional and friendly. My dinner veal chop was one of the best I have ever had. If we lived in the area this would be our regular go to restaurant. Well done!
Great restaurant for a special occasion or fancy night out. Service at the bar was a little slow and my lobster bisque was disappointing, but my gnocchi was wonderful and everyone was gracious and attuned to making our night the best it could be. We will be back.
My husband and I used to live uptown and would go to Luce at least once a week. Now that we have moved and have a daughter, it’s harder to get out. But three of the five nights out we’ve had since she was born have been at Luce! The welcome we get when we walk in the door makes the drive into uptown completely worth it. The staff is incredible and caring. We absolutely LOVE it there.
