Overall, I had a good experience. The service was amazing and I really enjoyed the experience. However, I do have some concerns. On the menu they say their pasta is made in house daily & fresh (which the pasta was amazing). However, when I asked for my pats without mushrooms the waiter stated that the dish was already made and they could not complete the request. This makes me a little concerned when being served “fresh” pasta.
Great meal, great atmosphere! Perfect for a night with that special someone. My filet was cooked perfectly! Delicious meal from appetizers through to dessert. Will definitely be back.
One of my very favorite restaurants in Charlotte. As soon as I walk in I feel like I am in Italy. Warm, friendly service, elegant atmosphere and fabulous food.
Food and ambiance is amazing. Portion size could be a little bigger.
My wife and I love Luce - the atmosphere, service, and food are all superb!
Wonderful ambiance and great wine, food,
The food was wonderful and the service was excellent.
Jade dinner before a performance at Belk Theater. Dinner was superb and timely
Good pasta. Great cannoli
Amazing food and atmosphere!
My boyfriend and I went to Luce to celebrate our anniversary on a Friday at around 7pm. We arrived a few minutes late and were seated promptly, offered fizzy or spring water, and told our waiter would be with us. In Luce’s defense, it did seem as if they were short staffed because I only saw one or two waiters available and we were seated next to a party of 8. Having said that, service was a bit delayed. They did bring us a glass of prosecco for our anniversary which was a nice touch. We ordered the bruschetta and calamari for appetizers and while they were good they were not great. For our meals, my boyfriend had the spaghettini which he said was very good and I had the tagliatelle with ragu which was ok. Funny enough, my favorite part of the meal was the bread and the white bean dip...it is DELICIOUS!! All in all we had a great anniversary and I think that had there been more staff the service would have been as excellent as the supporting staff that sat us, brought the bread, showed up with cheese and black pepper before I could even ask. We will return another time to experience all that we had heard about Luce. :)
Went for my wife's birthday and they were very receptive to it. The food and service were excellent and special dietary needs were handled very well. The rack of lamb and baby artichokes were to die for. The wine list was Italian and matched well with the food. Wines were in the $40 up range . We can't wait to go back and take friends as this meal out did many of the restaurants in nNOLA and NY.
The food was all right. I wasn't impressed with the chicken dish. Not enough flavor and boring.
I sent my dish back to get salmon instead.
We have been coming here for years and love it! Best place to eat!
The service was excellent, food was amazing and the wine was wonderful. My girlfriend and I will definitely be back!
2nd time here. Amazing food and ambiance! Would def recommend to anyone.
Very nice staff and great food.
We were there on a Tuesday and it was not crouded. The service was great. I ordered the fish special grouper wonderful the pasta delicious.
Food and service was excellent! My fiancé and I will definitely go back!
Elegant setting with authentic Italian food
Rosamaria was the best!!
From the moment we walked we felt so comfortable prosecco at the bar to table wine selection was very good food was all authentic Italian as if we were home fantastic flavors dessert on point and grappa to finish👌👌 carpaccio , pulpo to start gnocchi and fruit di mare finished with tortoni and cannoli we will be back for sure
The food here is very good and the ambiance is delightful if you like low key quiet dining. But my experience was entirely overshadowed by the rude treatment accorded to me by the host. Without boring you with the details, I will say that the manner in which I was treated was inconsistent with my past experiences with this restaurant. I do feel that my treatment would have different if I were male. I was willing to shrug it off, but both my son and daughter-in-law are adamant that we should find a different Italian restaurant at which to dine. Oh well. As Tom Colicchio says, you come to a restaurant for the food. You return for the service.
Pre-valentine’s date! Awesome place, food, and ambiance.
Luce was outstanding and the host was ultimately accommodating. We had a perfect meal and evening overall.
Outstanding - menu, service, wine, experience! Not our first time - we will continue to return - we have never been disappointed.
Food was delicious and a great value. Service was top notch. Our server, Manuel, couldn't be better. We went prior to a Bocelli concert but would consider driving 2 1/2 hours again to eat there! The location was also great as it is within walking distance of the Spectrum Center.
Special night with friends and dined at Luce's before the Bocelli concert. Everyone ordered something different and the food was amazing! I had the Branzino fish and is hands down the best meal I've ever had. The service was exceptional....thank you for a very special evening! We'll be back!
Have eaten here many times and have NEVER been disappointed.
Excellent Italian in Charlotte uptown. Service and food both very good. Must try the meatballs.
great, attentive service, fabulous food, and exquisite preperstion
My husband and I love Luce’s and don’t go often enough. It didn’t disappoint this time either. We arrived early but were able to be seated within minutes. Our wait staff was superb. The food was terrific, the choices for Queens feast were delicious! We will be back!
I have been to Luce once before, about 4 years ago, and it was great. This experience was awful. The food and service were not good at all. I took my Mom there for dinner before taking her to see Phantom of the Opera. I told the host, when I called to confirm the reservation, that we were going to the theater and wanted to make sure I had given us enough time to have a relaxing meal. He assured me we had plenty of time. Our salad plates sat on the table for 20 minutes after we were through with them before they were cleared. We had a very tough time getting our waiter's attention and when we finally did get his attention and mentioned we were going to the theater and needed to get our food quickly, he told me I should have told him we were going to the theater. Hum? There's no excuse for having our salads sit there for 20 minutes and taking 30 minutes to get one entree and a soup.
As for our food . . . we had the muscles, which were fishy. I believe we had two each and couldn't eat any more. I had the beet salad, however the beets had no flavor at all. The goat cheese was the only thing that gave the salad taste. My Mom had the caesar salad, which was the only good thing we had. I had the butternut squash soup (the soup special that evening) as my entree and it had very, very little flavor. I took three bites and that was two too many. My Mom had the cheese ravioli and it was incredibly bland for such a basic plate, but the worst part was how thick and chewy the pasta was. This was definitely not the experience I had the first time. I have always heard great things about Luce, but it will be tough for me to go back and pay those prices for food that bland.
I have to admit, I did not mention these things to the waiter. I am not a confrontational person, but also as mentioned, we were in a hurry to get to the theater after waiting so long for our food. He had already made me feel like it was my fault we were running late, so I kept quite.
Service was prompt and attentive. We did Queens Feast and I had Insalata, Rissoto and Sorbet. All was presented well and the dinner was delicious. Definitely will be back.
Food was overall good but my service was not. Had a reservation for 5 and my server himself was not attentive. The ladies who were walking around filling up my water glass and taking the dishes were so much more attentive. They were super nice. Came to our table with a smile every time whereas our server didn’t even look our way while taking our order and every time one of us asked a question he seemed annoyed. I expected better service but food and ambiance of the restaurant was overall good.
Had a great meal here on a Friday night during Restaurant Week in Charlotte but chose to order off the regular menu. Bruschetta and the Burrata appetizers were amazing. The Buttera and Pollo Parm were great entrees. Service was exceptional. Will return.
I reserved a table for 2 two weeks in advance and when we got to restaurant they didn't have our reservation. I'm not sure who's fault this is either Open Table or Luce but still trying to give a fair review. They had one small table by the kitchen and bathroom that they gave us so we were grateful for that. The food was just ok for my husband and me and the portions seemed kind of small. We had the tartar for an appetizer which was really good. However, our waiter, I think his name was Antonio, was exceptional. He was very attentive and very nice; we never had to wait for anything. We were running late for a show and he boxed up our dessert in a blink of an eye! I would try them again if the occasion presented.
Loved it! We had never eaten here before. Wonderful service and Italian food. We had the bruschetta and meatball for appetizers. I had the beet salad (needed more arugula in my opinion) and the Mare linguine which was divine. My husband had the house salad and tagliatelle and really enjoyed both. Great Italian wine and reasonable prices. We will be back!
Food was great, service was superb. Excellent choice for a romantic dinner date!
