The dishes, the atmosphere and the overall concept of Lucciola, was specifically inspired from the film Fest di Laurea, directed by Pupi Avati. We portray Avati's nostalgic and romantic mood of Bologna in our restaurant. From the decoration within the film, we were struck by how simple lights, illuminating a courtyard reminded us of fireflies, which brought to our name, Lucciola.
Our restaurant is dedicated to the lead actor in Avati's film: Nik Novecento, who embodied the values of Bologna from his passion, soul, courageousness and kindness.

Lovely dinner, Truffle Ravioli were so good, amazing idea the Tiramisù prepared at the table in front of you!
Manager was training our waitress on a Saturday night not a good look. Food was salty and did not have the wow factor .
......this is a lovely neighborhood restaurant.....ALWAYS good food and service.......
wow, this such a true gem !
Overall a great Italian dinner
Friendly waiters, tasty pasta, gorgeous wine selection for a good price
Totally empty entire time there
No ROSE WINE
SANCERE. $$17. Glass. Terrible
As were all wines
No atmosphere. Food fair.
Honest Italian food and friendly service, great trattoria style
Excellent Pasta but no air-conditioning ffffffffff
Food and atmosphere are unique as much as the charming look ! Casual with an intent of being outstanding and authentic, pasta special woth truffle was very good!
Agree Tiramisù made at the table is a bomb!
What a charming place, Italian management from Bologna, the restaurant is inspired to an Italian movie and the menu it’s from
their hometown, authentic food and great service, friendly and polite, I had cacio pepe, tiramisu and an impressive espresso, salut!
Great Pasta, I had truffle cacio pepe was totally on spot, fresh shaved teuffle at the table! Attemptive and professional service, great traditional Italian trattoria
Very disappointed! Been their several times before. Menu seemed very boring,no interesting apps, mostly pasta and risottos. Ordered pacherro w shrimps and mussels Very ski,py on fish, borimg sauce. Husband got chicken ala vodla same feeling. Tables for two way to close together and unfortunaltely scaffolding outside not a plus. Doubt we’ll try again. Did not feel Bolognese anymore
Great dinner, charming decor and exquisite dessert, they’ll make a perfect tiramisù for you at your table ! It’s north center Italian food do not expect lots of garlic or fried things, best pasta I’ve ever had!
I’m Albanian and visited many times Italy, Lucciola is such a lovely Italian dinner, pasta was al dente and not over salted and well sauced, Bolognese tasted so ao good and light, truly an Italian gem in a “forgotten” UWS area in need of a neighbor gem in a dead corner, especially if authentic Italian food and not just tons of garlic, cream and parmesan gosh! Wine are well priced, not a huge selection, service is friendly, they also serve a good thin crust pizza, was told by the manager that they just opened 1 year ago, well all they need to succed starting from a Spritz and great Italian music is there. After a long day of waking felt being back in Italy in a rustic postwar village of Tuscany, I’ll be back soon!
Great food, nice service, good ambience. Very happy will go back.
Great food, service and prices! Owners on premise ensure outstanding quality
Best Fettuccine Bolognese, trattoria style
Food was ok, nothing special- the restaurant menu was varied but the three dishes we had all tasted like reheated catered food. pizza was unremarkable, as was the penne dish which had rubbery chicken. The wine pour was generous though, but not enough to make me forget about the food. the free bruschetta, would have never paid for it.
real Italian trattoria, great pasta al dente
Awful service horrible food avoid at all cost!
The manager thinks providing desserts to make up for over cooked meatballs undercooked pasta and tiny portions is something we should be happy with but I’m sorry to little to late! And top it off wait 20 min to be greeted by a server with no drinks or water and just asked are u ready to order? Also waiting over 45 min for said food was ridiculous! I regret taking friends there I was utterly embarrassed!
I’d hope the owner reaches out after this honest review and actually cares about their customers
Upon entering the restaurant it smelled amazing and we were ready for a great experience. Unfortunately, we were left wanting. The drinks were coming out piecemeal and we had to ask for another basket of bread to tide my daughter over ...she was hungry and the kitchen was backed up. I don't know if I even received the right drink as we ordered 2 of the same and each had a garnish that looked different. Once we finally got our food, we were less than impressed, my dish was cold (we'd waited so long that I just ate it anyway) and for $18+ a dish I'd expect it at least to be warm and flavorful. My friend ordered the spaghetti pesto which was the only tasty dish out of the 6 at our table. I'm hoping they were having an off night ...maybe there was a call out in the kitchen and front of house?? Either way, I don't think we'll be going back soon.
Food was okay however service was horrible after asking repeated for my drink I had to get up and get it at the bar.
Our meal at Lucciolo was excellent! The blueberry lemonade cocktail was refreshing and the Brushetta appetizer was delicious! We each enjoyed our meals- drunken lobster risotto, house special pasta with shrimp/ octopus and lime, prosciutto pizza! We would highly recommend any entree! The waiter gave us some great tips!! Can’t wait to go back!!
The service and the food was excellent.
First time here but won’t be my last! Loved the Cacio e pepe and my husband said the salmon was delicious. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Great find!
It was Thursday they had one waiter one busboy don’t think they counted on being so busy. With more staff it will be a 5 star! Will be back
Exquisite Authentic Italian Trattoria style, charming Executive Chef and his food is full of passion
The real thing !
Great service but the pasta was slightly over cooked and the marinara was too sweet
Attemptive service, great food, plesant experience by any meaning, this Italian team we’ll go extra miles for you to the point of giving a second dessert to your daughter just because she wanted both but was not allowed two have double dessert during her dinner meal, they were so so genuinely attemptive and kind with this gesture and during all dinner the got all our love! Back for more amazing pasta arrabbiata!
Nice meal. First time eating in, although have ordered delivery before. Food was good, but not distinguished. Came out at all different times, which was awkward and was happening to other tables as well. Room is nice. Good buzz. Reasonable prices.
we waited 25 minutes for our wine after several requests, never got bread till we asked and I asked for my wine in a stem glass was told didn't have any clean stem glasses - really!!!!
Wonderful Italian restaurant, very good pasta, pizza and burrata !
Les Italiens du monde entier savent très bien cuisiner des pâtes et des pizzas! Félicitations aux Italiens!
Best Authentic Italian in the all Upper West Side, reading reviews telling unfair comments on a traditional Italian dish kills my Italian heart and palate, probably lots and lots of people are only used to Italian American food over salty and full of cream and double cheese, such a shame, get a plane and fly to Italy, discover this wonderful country and its real contemporary food then come back and try this pearl and enjoy a well balance Italian dish, loved the food, the menu and the experience was so so Italian like being back in Bologna, grazie !
This was truly delicious Bolognese cooking--the pastas were terrific, the service was friendly and attentive, it was even possible to buy a pleasant bottle of Montepulciano for under $40! We were delighted to find this restaurant close to home and will return soon!
Food was bland, unappetizing. Not nearly a good value for the money.
LUCCIOLA is a lovely restaurant. The hosts are gracious, and warm. The food is great and the service was outstanding.
