Absolutely delicious! I went back twice during a recent short visit to Portland. Great service
We always have great service and food when we are here. Lucas is my go-to for a comfortable and tasty experience.
Yes, the food and drink were excellent, of course, and our table particularly appreciated our Waiter; he didn't convey a need to be our best friend, but was convivial enough, professional, prompt, articulate, very knowledgeable about the menu and bar, and provided well timed service in spite of a very busy restaurant.
Excellent neighborhood place ..great food and service.
Food and service was great, however the noise level made it hard to impossible to hear., Just an old folk response, so I'd give the noise just one ear, to noisy to hear.
Checked in for our reservation and were told to wait to even check-in. Wait staff was not very attentive. Had to wait for bread to be brought to the table, and our neighboring table was served before us who arrived 5 minutes later. Food was severely under seasoned (pasta, vegetable). Food also came so fast I felt rushed out.
We have been doing here for years. The food is delicious and our favorites are always consistent. Excellent service to boot!
Our server was not very friendly, demanded my ID “do you have your ID with you??” with attitude when I ordered a drink (I’m 30). She was verging ok rude the entire meal. That said, the rest of the staff was wonderful. Food was great, shared the beet salad which was super fresh and flavorful. I had the chicken thigh and it was excellent, cooked perfectly. Had the rum/apple drink (forget the name) and it was OK. Overall a nice place for dinner, nice decor and atmosphere.
Small portions, snippy primary server (other servers were fine), great salads.
The food was delicious, best piece of halibut I've had in a long time. The mixed berry/pear cobbler was great. Plenty of fruit and a light crumble topping. The prom couples gave a fun atmosphere the night we had dinner. Definitely recommending Lucca to my friends.
Overall the experience was good, but a couple of things, my wife and I ordered cocktails and they took forever to arrive. Our seating was in a high traffic area near the kitchen entrance,we did have a reservation. We ordered a pizza and requested two eggs as an additional topping. Our waitress came back and told us that the cook would only put one egg on the pizza, what does it matter if I am paying extra for it at $2.00 per egg.
Never ceases to amaze. Food was outstanding. Creative menu. Fresh offerings. A delightful place to dine.
The service and food was absolutely fantastic.
The only complaint was the music was so loud we could barely hear each other. Had to request twice for the music to be turned down.
Very nice. Menu with modest selection, but everything, chicken liver appetizer, pasta, lamb and wine was great.
We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender/owner. Our food was really good And we enjoyed the evening very much.
Made a reservation for two of my close friends. They expressed how much they enjoyed their experience. One of them had the Spring leg of lamb and remarked that it was one of the best Lamb dishes he's had. My other friend loved the Cape Town Negroni.
Our experience at Lucca was outstanding. We changed our reservation to an hour and a half earlier with one additional guest and they were very accommodating. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
It was a nice new spot. They ran out of the halibut but 630p on a Saturday. Pretty early. Also ran out of vinegar for the bread. Not a big deal but seems like they don't inventory well.
The picture doesn’t match the restaurant, and the food was all mediocre.
This place was really great! We were pleasantly surprised! The food was phenomenal as was the service! A++++++
My wife and I had a really tasty dinner at Lucca on a Wednesday evening. Our reservation was at 7:30, the restaurant was about 50% filled, noise level just right for conversation, ambiance was very very nice. We each had a very yummy drink, split a great Caesar’s salad, and enjoyed excellent entrees. Food, drink, and service were all outstanding and reasonably priced.
Erica was a delight. We are definitely coming back to Lucca regularly for our date nights.
Everything was just OK. The place was very noisy & not yet full. It was hard to have a conversation.
We have enjoyed Lucca since it opened many years ago. It keeps getting better--and it's in the neighborhood. It's well worth the drive, if it's not in yours.
I have been eating at Lucca since it opened. I must say that the food this week was better than I have ever remembered it. Love the new cocktail menu. Thanks for the effort you place imnproviding an exceptional experience. Kudos to Angela !
My daughter’s birthday
This is a cute place located in an neighborhood. I've always wanted to try this place since I drive by all the time and Saturday was our night.
I'm glad I made reservations, there was a small line of people waiting for a table.
We were seated in the back, almost looked like a small room that perhaps is used for small parties? I was a tad worried from some reviews saying that it was hard to hear due to the noise, and the tables being too close. I did not find this in the area we sat.
We had a party of four. I liked that I could bring our own wine with a corkage fee. The bread was nice to eat during conversation, and waiting on our meals.
We had three steaks, and one pasta. Everyone raved about the steak. I wish I had tried it. I had the pasta which turned out to be a vegetarian meal. I did not dislike it, I just wish I had some sort of protein to go with it.
I also wish they offered side salads to go with dinner. They only hard larger portion salads which would have been too much to eat.
Great coffee after dinner.
I will be going back. I loved this little gem, but I am a meat eater and would love to give some protein meals a try.
We like Lucca, great food and service always. We come early and always ask NOT to be seated along the row of 2-person tables beside the bar and going toward the kitchen. TOO noisy there, too much traffic going by. We are seniors, like things more laid back.
Everything was great! Will definitely go there again
Food was very good, service was good m, but very noisy. Could use some soundproofing.
Love to see how some new menu items. Otherwise, a great local restaurant.
Lucca is quite good. It sits in a sweet spot of casual and a bit fancy that not too many other places offer. You can go there and feel like you took your out of town relatives someplace nice, but at the same time you can bring your rambunctious kids and not feel like you did something horrible to other diners. The menu is a little pricey, and I was disappointed that the online menu was completely out of date, but the food we had was very good.
Lucca never disappoints! There was something delicious for everyone at the table, and when I asked to skip the creamy polenta, they were happy to help! Service was warm and friendly all be it a touch slow to get cleared and get our check...no big deal because we could see our waiter had a lot on his hands and it is such a nice place to be!
Always great pasta, big salads and stiff martinis...our go to for awhile now
Delicious! Such a charming neighborhood spot with fabulous food and drinks. Excellent service.
Our reserved table was ready when we arrived, a fairly quiet corner for our party of six. Service was great, food was beautifully plated and wonderful. We couldn’t have been happier.
Had a fantastic dinner with my dad @ Lucca last week. Hearty Italian options were available for all to enjoy. Servers were attentive and gave good suggestions. Not too large of portions, except for the pizzas... but nobody wants a small pizza! My only negative was that since there were only 2 of us we were placed at a tiny table at the end of the row where other patrons kept bumping into me and there was very little light in our specific spot.
Ask to sit in Mitch's section, he's the best! The food and drink were both outstanding.
Food is always great, been there many times. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Only problem is the noise level...wish I could have a conversation without always going....”what?”
I love Lucca. Food is consistent as is the service. It is a go-to restaurant.
