   As an Italian Neapolitan engineer travelling for work, on Sunday I love to eat pasta, and I was looking for a typical Italian restaurant were to have the possibility to eat a good one and by chance I found Lucca Osteria: I must say it was a truly delightful experience. I was warmly welcomed by Vittorio that made me feel right home. The highlight of the meal was "Spaghetti Carbonara", it was prepared exactly as it should be, just like the traditional Italian recipe from home. The flavors were reach and authentic, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. It felt like a little piece of Italy right here in Chicago. I highly recommend this place to anyone loves Carbonara. I will certainly be back whenever I'm in town!

   Always a pleasure to dine here on special occasions. Outstanding in many ways, hospitality, quality of the food and service and the vibe. Our faves are the Dover Sole and skirt steak. Can’t find it better anywhere. Cocktails are perfect as well. I just wish I could afford to dine here more often. 😊

   Always a good time at Lucca where you see a combination of old school folks with new school vibe. My only surprise was the Fettucini as ‘ok’ with the wine in the mozzarella tub, but the rest of the food was fantastic. Really a 4.5 star review, but normally a 5 star place.

    We went for a wine dinner and the food was average which is unusual. We later found out that chef Claudio was NOT there. This is the 2nd time I’ve been there when he was not there and it was an underwhelming experience. Food was fair, wine pours were “light” vs other wine dinners, and silverware was basically tossed on the table each course. The other time was on a Sunday during the holidays with an abbreviated menu and found out he was not there. With that said we were at the previous wine dinner at which Chef Claudio was there and it was spectacular! Usually we go on Saturdays and it is great. My advice is to make sure Claudio is there and you are in for a treat, but if he’s not, I will pass.
