LUCA Ratings and Reviews
We love Luca and all of the food was amazing although we were a little surprised at the lobster pasta special - the dish was average and the lobster was minimal w/small pieces. Usually everything at Luca is exceptional. Everything else was wonderful and we’ll definitely be back!
Had a great experience here. We were unfortunately involved in a minor traffic accident on the way to our 8pm reservation. The hostess was great and assured us it wasn't a problem, they held our table and told us to arrive safely. The owner came out with complimentary wine to take the edge off as well as thank us for coming in still despite the circumstance, which was very thoughtful. The chef sent out an appetizer for us knowing we were late for our reservation and knew we were hungry. Our server was awesome and very knowledgeable, she took good care of us. And of course, the food was fantastic. We're excited to come back. The awesome employees here helped save our date night despite the rough start, thank you!
Wasn't the greatest experience at Luca this time. Perhaps we did not order well. Appetizers were good, especially the arancini. But we had three entrees and they were all lackluster. My husband had the risotto, which had nice flavor but the consistency was mushy. It was impossible to even see the individual kernels of rice and lacked the perfect consistency of true risotto. My daughter had tagliatelle bolognese which is normally her favorite at Luca. But the sauce was way too cheesy for bolognese and was not well-proportioned to the pasta noodles. I had the wild boar lasagnetta. Again it had way too much cheese and the boar was in a tangy sauce that overpowered the boar flavor. It tasted more like southern bbq than boar and did not blend well with the lasagna. Overall very disappointing, especially for the price. Service was unusually slow as well. Have had better experiences at Luca in the past, but I may limit my visits to Luca for happy hour and apps or pizza rather than the pasta entrees. I do wish that the pizza selections included more "red" pizza options instead of so many "white" pizzas.
Came for Valentine’s Day. Food was fantastic start to finish! Our server was great and very attentive. This is one of our favorite spots. I have a 10 week old infant at home and LUCA was the obvious choice for our first outing without the baby. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
The overall experience was good. Our server wasn’t the best, however. He didn’t enlighten us about the special menu and he offered the table right beside us complimentary Valentine’s Day cookies after their meal, but didn’t offer us any— which was odd. I’ll definitely dine here again, but I’ll be hoping for a different waiter next time.
Wonderful food. First time there and our waitress Emily couldnt be nicer. She helped us with the ordering process. Food was delicious. We cant wait to come back for the pizza. Nwxt time we'll order two snall plates and a pizza. Definately not for kids but a wonderful place for adults to go. Thank you!
This was our first time and we came to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Service was the best in lancaster. We came on Sunday night and sat upstairs. I was disappointed that we were seated practically at the same table as two other families (booth along the wall) we were in the middle. We couldn’t enjoy our conversation because there was no privacy. The small plates were delicious. We would come back but definitely request to be downstairs.
I love the creative cuisine approach but some of the food was much too heavily salted. Also some of the food didn't seem freshly served. It seemed like it had sat around a little. For instance, when I asked for an overly-salted veg dish to be remade, it came back much fresher-seeming. Like it had just been made. It wasn't as wilted as the first try; it was crispier and tastier.
Luca needs to not get too comfortable with it's success!! I've seen this in other successful restaurants. The standards start to slide.
My fiance and I had dinner before seeing a show at the Fulton. It was a great spot to go before the show! Easy to get in and out of since we were on a bit of a time crunch, service was great and fast and the food was really good. Great Italian dishes, but not too heavy and portioned right so you're not overly stuffed!
My husband and I came to Luca for our anniversary. We had heard great things about it and it did not disappoint. The beef carpaccio was delightful and probably the best I’ve ever had. I had the lamb and my husband had the bolognese. Both were outstanding. It was one of the best meals ever. Delicious wine and a really sweet and knowledgeable server. 5 stars.
Great night out with friends. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The food offerings are a bit different than most restaurants, but really good. But , hey, that is one of the reasons we go. lots of interesting choices for beverages as well. We have been there numerous times.
Outstanding food! Delicious, inventive cocktails!! Chef Taylor was there overseeing all the amazing work his team does so consistently and Joe Hess made the experience memorable providing solid, “big-city” service! The freshest ingredients, expertly prepared- perfect flavor combinations, some surprising (like the ‘hot honey drizzle’ on the Picante Pizza- this is what you can expect at Lucca! It just does not get any better, even the New York Times knows about this place! This is not the spot for a quiet romantic dinner, the noise level is still an issue, but the rest of the experience makes up for it in spades!!! Mangia!! (Park in the lot on the side of the building)
Emily was our waitress and did an outstanding job, answering questions, knowing the menu and describing ingredients new to us. She is friendly, professional, and attentive. With a full meal of appetizers, cocktails, entrees, and dessert, all of the elements were fresh, flavorful, and delightful. We will be back!
Painful. The noise level was as if we were eating dinner inside a soup can. My mother's salad arrived and neither of us had silverware- I had to walk to the check in desk to request. Drink prices are high for what you receive. My double vodka on the rocks arrived and the glass was half full at best. Food was mediocre....way overrated.
