We had a really pleasant date night. The food was great, the table we had was cozy and quiet, and the service was helpful (and not rushing us). Most importantly the food was fantastic. Extremely pleased.
We are new to the Seattle area and wanted to try a restaurant new to us. Luc did not disappoint. The Restaurant Week menu offered several choices. It was very hard to select an option. We also looked at the regular menu and there were a number of entrees we want to try. Our waiter was attentive and was able to answer all our questions. They were busy but the noise level was low. It made it very easy to talk. They do have a nice bar. We asked to see the Sunday brunch menu. The waiter gave us $5 off coupons to try it. We will definitely be returning to try Sunday brunch as well as to try other entrees on their menu. They do have an outside patio which will be very nice once the weather warms up. We will be taking our son and daughter-in-law.
Luc is the offspring of Rover, which in the past was one of Seattle's two or three best French restaurants. Luc is not strictly French, but uses many Nouvelle Cuisine cooking techniques. The group of five I dined with all enjoyed our evening; the service and the food were both very well done. I have no hesitation in going back or recommending it to friends.
Such a beautiful meals for Seattle restaurant week, complete with one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.
Went to dinner with my husband during restaurant week. The whole meal was a wonderful experience. Each dish was really well prepared with a lot of depth of flavor.
The service was also really good, the wait staff were very knowledgeable and helpful while also being friendly and approachable.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.
The Seattle Restaurant Week prix fixe menu was great. The halibut was perfect, with just the right amount of sauce and vegetables. The service was friendly, good, efficient and fast.
We enjoyed Sunday brunch and then came back for happy hour drinks and small dishes. The food, service and atmosphere were all wonderful. We’ll happily recommend to friends.
Delicious! I love Luc. The food is consistently good. The deserts are fabulous!
Wonderful evening. Wait staff was great and informative.
Amazing food. The French Onion Soup and Basket of Soufflé Potato Crisps were outstanding. Great entrees too - hard to choose which one to get. Great service and excellent wine list.
Luc is one of our go-to restaurants when we want a reliable meal. We have been there many time and it never fails to disappoint. As an aside, and here is a bit or a rant, I am done with Seattle's Italian restaurants. Seattle's version of Italian is full of pizza, dissapointing pasta and hot chili flakes - it must appeal to the millennials. I like to taste my food and going French is better way to go. Luc is a good value and has great tasting food.
My husband, 17 y/o daughter and I love coming to Luc's for special occasions and when we're craving something wonderful to eat. The soups never disappoint and we recently enjoyed risotto with pork sausage and rabbit confit that was beautifully prepared.
The food was amazing & cooked to order! It was worth the wait, the restaurant was filled with people and the ambiance was more like a bistro. The service was pleasant, very attentive.
Loved most of the meal, but unfortunately my rabbit was quite over-cooked and dry.
The food is terrific. I love coming to Luc and eat there several times a year. This time, our waiter could have been a bit more attentive. I had to ask him to wipe off our table after the first course... it was obvious that it needed wiping. ... quibbling a bit here because everything else was very good. But, when you pay $28 for an entre.. shouldn't have to ask.
Well...I love Luc, and go there often, but our meal this last week (Restaurant Week meal) was unusually disappointing. The green salad was limp and overdressed, and was a odd combination of flavors. The halibut entree was wonderful, but the pound cake dessert was, well, just okay. More problematic, the service was so darn slow: We were seated at 6:30, and by the time we paid our bill it was 9:00. This is not typical, so don’t be put off if you haven’t tried Luc before. Not sure what was going on...
Slow (and kind of sullen) service. We went for restaurant week. Not great. Previous visits to Luc have been excellent.
I am a vegetarian and have eaten at Luc several times - brunch and dinners. Their vegetarian options are limited for dinner but what they have is wonderful. I've had their tsampa grain risotto main a couple of times and it was very flavorful. For brunch I had the mushroom omlette which was delicious. Luc packs mega flavor in one of my mini bites!
The reservation was easy to make on Open Table and we were seated shortly after arriving for brunch. Overall the food, service, and ambiance were great and the prices were reasonable. We will return.
For starters we ordered beignets, blood orange mimosa and beet juice Bloody Mary. The 3 beignets were absolutely light and perfect! The drinks were tasty and a nice twist on a traditional drink.
The quiche had a light crust, lardon (bacon), mushrooms and wonderfully rich yet fluffy egg filling. An arugula salad with light vinegar and oil accompanied the dish. Wow was it good!
We also ordered a salmon and spinach omelet with a warm arugula, potato, carrot, and onion salad. They didn't have salmon so we had to settle for halibut but we were not disappointed. It was cooked perfectly and the halibut flavor came through. We loved it!
Went for Easter breakfast. The French toast, crepes, mushroom omelette and the green eggs and ham special were all excellent. Very fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.
AMAAAAAZING food! We were a group of 6 and every single one of us raved about our meal. I'll be back for sure!
Luc did not disappoint. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The food was excellent. The noise level was fairly low, which was nice.
Birthday celebration.
delicious Lyonnaise salad and French onion soup. The dessert cheese plate was perfect
Best service was when we got there a few minutes early and sat at the bar for a quick happy hour bite. The Bartender was very nice, knowledgeable of the menu, and had a great persona. He talked about his world travels and made suggestions for us on the menu for dinner. Not snobby, not impatient, didn't talk down to us, congenial, just great.
When we sat for dinner service was good, just not at the level of what we'd seen. Waitress seemed a bit put-off by the questions my group had.
Food was great, though a bit salty.
Way over priced for the quality of food unless your used to paying $60 (including tip) for a omelet and piece of quiche, cup of coffee and cup of tea.
Our food took almost an hour to get out to us and the restaurant was pretty empty
We were very unhappy with the quality of the food. We had steak and frites and we could not cut or chew the steak. The frites were great. The salad was very average as was the house wine. We are not planning on coming back.
Service was a little slow but otherwise good
Reliably excellent. Great food, service and ambiance. A go to place for us.
Luc never disappoints. We went for a very special birthday, and the staff could not have been more warm and welcoming. It truly pays to be a regular at this lovely little restaurant. We've been going for years, both for dinners and for casual drinks at the bar, and it's always an evening well spent.
This is the second time that I have eaten at Luc and the food was delicious again. I am a vegetarian so there aren't a lot of choices but what I had was wonderful. I had the mushroom omelet with vegetable hash and both were very flavorful.
Server had a bad attitude, was not friendly or welcoming. Made a significant mistake in the order and didn't apologize and then didn't offer to take something off of the menu or do something to make up for it.
Excellent The server Was excellent acknowledge our anniversary as soon as we we're seated Adrian was very professional friendly, outgoing server he made Me and my husband feel very special.
the server was just lovely and her recommendation on the wine was spot on! mussels were a dream.
the food here is marvelous. Always consistent and always delicious. Quality ingredients to make your mouth water! There is a wonderful vibe. I hate to say 'casual' since that might not reflect the upscale 'ness' of the people, but it does feel comfortable and casual, no matter who surrounds you!
Moved here from Texas in July; has been a fav since.
Went for my foodie daughters 18th birthday. Classic French bistro by one of the most storied chefs in Seattle. They were very discreet but also made her feel very special on her birthday. French onion soup. YUM. My wife's beef Beef Bourguignon was the best of all four dishes just like to Michelin 2 star grandma used to make! The smores dessert was killer diller. Here is the hidden hint their Sommeliers treasures are beyond reasonably priced. One of the wines I could not buy on the internet cheaper, there might be a few others. I won't tell you which ones though...
Always good, never disappointed with Luc. This is a great home town place for dinner any time.
Overall, a very good experience. The chicken liver pate was okay, but not great. The beef bourguignon was excellent. Very good gin martini. Excellent bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Service was good but not up to usual standard for this bistro. Have been many times and will definitely go back again.
Great menu and wine list, polite and friendly service, delicious food.
