The food was amazing but it is a challenge finding a place to park.
I had the most delicious salmon that I have eaten out in a long time! My husband had the hangar steak and he raved about his meal too!
We want to go back ASAP!
We were 6 loud women giving one of us a send-off. Although we just ordered drinks and starters the waitstaff was attentive and helpful, keeping our water glasses filled and not looking twice at the five credit cards. Thank you. I work in the neighborhood and We all love Luc's.
Very noisy, smelly (our clothes smelled all weekend), food was just ok...
We really enjoy the food and service at Luc. It is becoming our favorite place in Seattle to meet friends and business contacts for dinner. The wine list is good but not so long that it takes all night to read and decide. Everything we've had from the menu we have liked, and the $35 prix fixe menu is a good deal if you like the choices on offer.
We like the booths in the back. The noise level can get a little high when the room's full, but generally it's a nice buzz. And parking is relatively easy to find.
All in all, a great place. We'll be going again.
I loved the steak and frites! The steak was very tender!! My friend thought the trout was good, but not great. Bouillabaisse very good. My husband had the Cassoulet which was very good. Service was excellent. We had a nice booth at the back of the restaurant, quieter!
for great food and ambience go here. We took my nephew's girlfriend and her friend(young) to this place and they loved it too. Girls had split a beet salad and hamburger/fries and we had the trout and beef bourguignon resp. and all perfect. The waiter was fun and was cool.
Whether having a romantic rendezvous, a family celebration, a foodie friends night out, or a soulful treat by yourself, LUC delivers.... from the minute we entered and were greeted by Kathy Ratureau, seated in a booth, at the hands of our capable and knowledgeable waiter, the wonderful wine list and awesome non alcoholic drinks presented, we knew we were in good hands. Thierry Ratureau's well trained kitchen crew sent out three great starters.. a hearty winter pasta with squash and other good stuff as one entree.. cool feature.. you can top it with a duck leg, an egg or sausage for just a little more,desserts... oh my my, chocolate cake rich dense divine. the peanut butter chocolate hot smore in a ramekin...oh lordy...we all fought for the last lick on that one..goat cheese salad , roasted beets, roasted chicken, classic french but oh so fun and affordable ,JUST GO
We had a great time and the service was prompt and the food was delicious. It has a nice atmosphere and we will definitely be back.
We loved Luc! While it's sibling restaurant Loulay had no reservations for our timeframe, Luc was suggested, so we decided to try it. Glad we did. It's classic French bistro food--marvelous prixe fixe, great house made butternut squah soup, fish cooked to perfection, their regular menu Bouillabase is excellent, and the beef bourguignon, fantastic. Bread has a wonderful crust. Chacuterie appetizer is scrumptious--pate, house made! The butterscotch creme brulee, house made, was lucious. In house wine is priced right. And the SERVICE is top notch. Very welcoming!
Three lovely courses with delightful wine pairings! Carrot-ginger soup, venison, butterscotch creme brulee and chocolate pit de creme were perfectly prepared. Our server was unobtrusively attentive. If only my dinner companion and I could have heard each other above the din it would have been a perfect evening.
The menu does not look impressive, but that belies how well the food is executed. The potato leek soup looked beautiful, and also tasted great. The steak was very tender (and even reheated leftovers the next day were delicious). At the table next to me, I saw a whole duck leg sticking out of the cassoulet. A cider which I have not seen in stores was also offered, and I found to be a good match to the meal. They also offered a $35 prix fixe 3-course menu, which is a bargain.
It is nice to find a chef who does not have to resort to exotic ingredients or fancy names to make a menu sound more exciting than it really is. At the same time, I would not call this simple fare. In the end, this was one of the best dinners I had during my trip. I'm glad I came, and look forward to going back.
We were all pleased with our meal. My only complaint was how squeezed you feel in the space. When hanging your coat outside your booth, your behind is right in the face of the table near by. Feels tight and it gets quite warm in the back, near the kitchen.
It was DELICIOUS!! I just got back from France, and one thing I love about eating there is that everything on your plate is carefully thought through. Eating at Luc felt like eating in a very good French restaurant in France... no shortcuts.
The service we received from the time we walked in till we left two hours later was great. From our server to the GM and even the bartender stopped by to make sure the drinks were done right! You will be treated well.
Every time we visit Luc our expectations are very high and we are always astounded at how we are never let down. The food is always excellent and the staff no matter whom we have as a server is outstanding. We will continue to enjoy our special occasions and just a great night out at Luc.
Our family met on a Sunday night to celebrate a birthday. It was pretty celebratory just getting us all in one place at one time! We were seated at my favorite table near the back of the restaurant. Service was wonderful, attentive but not rushing, as I am so pleased to say always happens at Luc. Our food, appetizers to desserts, was wonderful. My only complaint and for one other dish as well was that it was too salty. The birthday boy was grateful that there was not a big deal made of his day by the wait staff, but it was nice to have a candle brought along with the pot de creme chocolat. Thank you, we had a wonderful time!
We LOVE the pomme frites here at Luc's! They are as puffy and light as can be! Well worth the extra change. The hamburger is no slouch either. Try it with the Zoe's bacon. Yum!
My favorite restaurant in Seattle. Everything was perfect and my dad was very pleased with his steak. The bouillabaisse was very very tasty with an abundance of seafood!
I've been wanting to try Luc for a long time, and a birthday dinner was the perfect time! Loved everything from service, food, ambiance to even being personally greeted table side and thanked by the owner. I'll be back for happy hour soon. Merci bien!
I met my sweetie at Luc a couple years ago. So, every year I take her there for our "anniversary." I also go there every so often for Happy Hour - which is wonderful. I wrote in the Open Table "special requests" section for the reservation that it was our anniversary and could they find us a corner table. Well... they did but, we threw a curve by asking to be seated someplace farther from the front door (a bit of a draft). They said, of course. The host and our waiter both acknowledged our anniversary without being too annoying. And, to our surprise, they brought us a free appetizer. And, when we declined to order a dessert, they brought us a small bowl of ice cream with an intertwined candle... on the house. Food, as always, great!
Sit at the chef's counter if you can. You'll feel like you're at the Food Network watching the chefs in action. Great food and service.
This is our go to place whenever we are in Madison Park area. I love the eggs benedict that comes with a salad. We preferred sitting in the back where you can see the kitchen and there are booths near the windows but this time the restaurant was crowded so had to sit near the front door. Wear something warm as it gets a bit chilly when the front door opens.
This is a great little spot. Great food and drink and the atmosphere is perfect. Great service.
We tried LUC for Seattle Restaurant week. The restaurant is cozy and beautiful. Our appetizer and main Lamb course were presented beautifully and every bite was scrumptious. Our chocolate dessert was unbelievable. Our server was knowledgeable, very attentive and very nice. Our dining experience was made even more special when the Chef in the hat - Thierry stopped by our table to see how our dinner was. What a nice surprise. His conversation with us was genuine and you could tell he loves what he does. We watched as he made his way to other tables, putting smiles on everyone he met. We will definitely be back for another great dining experience.
We were a large group and a bit complicated but the waiter was extremely patient, pleasant and helpful. Towards the end of the meal the owner even came out to great us personally and ask how we enjoyed ourselves. The food was tasty classed up comfort food style.
Hard to believe Luc is no longer the new baby on the scene, as I finally got my husband and a friend together there. Lovely dinner for three with impeccable service.
The food was soooo good. I had linguini with a poached egg on top. It was probably the best pasta I ever ate. I will absolutely be back.
Dinner at Luc made me feel like I was back in Paris, at a small neighborhood bistro. The food was spot-on, the lighting low and atmospheric; even the 2-top table crowded into the corridor was just like I remember it in Paris. I will definitely return next time I need a Franco-fix.
Tried Restaurant Week at Luc's. Food was good but noise level made the dinner unpleasant.
The food was delicious. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, the chocolate caramel cake was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. The only real downside was how noise carried in the space - I felt like I had to yell to my dining partner the entire two hours we were there.
I chose Luc for dinner for four, it was my husband's birthday and our best friends' 1 year anniversary dinner. We loved the ambiance, the food was incredible. The service was great and it was such a fun spot. Not too much noise, and family friendly while still being a suitable place for a very adult dinner. I would love to go back!
From appetizer to desert, we had a great meal with everyone commenting that we'd all be back. Two notable dishes were the wild boar and the steak--awesome. The soup du jour, a cream of celery/potato with walnuts was also very good. When we visited on a Friday night, the floor was little crowded, so look for a booth.
My friend and I went to LUC for SRW.
The restaurant has a very cozy and energetic atmosphere.
I haven't really dined in a French restaurant before and LUC set a high bar for future French restaurants.
I started with the soup du jour, which turned out to be a soup made of corn and lobster mushrooms. It tasted rich but it wasn't overwhelming.
The braised lamb leg was perfect! The ratatouille and the mashed potato that came with the lamb was spectacular!
I think the only thing that wasn't WOW was the butterscotch creme brulee. I mean it was good but I've definitely had better.
The service was friendly but just a bit slow. Also, our waitress spoke a bit too fast for us to comprehend what she was saying.
But overall, I had an amazing time!
Everything was excellent. I would most definitely eat here again
We really enjoyed our experience. We went for the Seattle Restaurant Week, so we didn't examine the wine list. We did get a wine pairing with our meal which was very good.
Luc provides a more varied menu that most other French restaurants in the Seattle area, and their Boeuf Bourguignon made with Kobe has to be the highlight. The Dijon Pork Chop is huge, tender and perfectly prepared. While creme brulee is missing from the desert menu, the Peach Melba and Chocolate Pôt de Crème are absolutely delicious. Most of the menu are reminscent of Paris, and the wine list provides wide choice. A full meal for 2 may run a little over $100, with one drink each, but for the taste, ambience, and service, you won't find better in greater Seattle.
My major kudos to a particular Kiwi (?) waiter, who was kind, timely, helpful, and forgiving of my poor French pronounciation. The only negative was a rowdy party of six nearby.
Great food & a fun ambiance mix for a special night out for dinner.
I've now dined at Luc's 3 or 4 times, living within about a 10-minute drive of the restaurant. Wow. They do a great job. The Salad Lyonnaise is a standout, and the chicken confit is outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The menu is not extensive, but everything I've tried has been of excellent quality. Very good value for the quality of the food. Low-key bistro ambiance.
Went for a special occasion with my family. Seated by the open kitchen area, with quite a bit of smoke and cooking aromas in our table area as a result. Food was quite outstanding, liked everything that we ordered. Service was attentive. We will return in the future, maybe to sit outside on a nice evening.
