Located at the intersection of Madison Street and 28th Avenue in the heart of Seattle's Madison Valley, Luc is a neighborhood spot with heartwarming food, fresh cocktails and a well-selected wine list including our own blend, Luc.
The menu highlights the Luc Burger, Boeuf Bourguignon, Trout Almandine, Chocolate Pot de Crème along with daily specials and a daily specialty dish to be shared family style.
Luc is a journey and a feast for the senses in a very casual atmosphere.
Happy Hour is daily from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the bar, kitchen counter, and patio.
Food was excellent. Classic seasonal Haute cuisine.
We like the place though I have to say service wasn't as good this time. Also, I'd love to see a change in the menu, with maybe some of the staples staying the same, but new options.
Both the food and the service was excellent. We have always had a good experience at Luc.
We love Luc and have had many excellent dining experiences there. This last outing was good but not great, service was below expectations and lacked any warmth or personality. I think we’ve also learned that it’s best to get an earlier reservation so they don’t run out of some dishes. We’ll be back and are hopeful that it will be a great experience next time.
Luc has become a staple for me...even though I don’t get here as often as I’d like. Have NEVER had a bad experience. It’s the place I bring my godson (freshman in college) and has turned into our “regular place.”
The meal was very pleasant but the service was unusually slow. Totally get that it’s Valentine’s Day but when you’re offering a pre-fix menu, I wasn’t expecting such a long wait between courses.
We had the Valentines Day dinner. It was excellent. We had not been there before so we were very pleased. Unfortunately we got a parking ticket! So park carefully, hard to do in the snow.
Great service, great food, amazing value and ambiance. Really happy with the quality of the food.
Luc remains our favorite Seattle restaurant. For Valentine's Day, Luc had a special menu, and it did not disappoint. The starter--a dungeness crab salad, was bright and tasty. For the entree, I had venison medallions and my partner had steelhead--both wonderful. We had the almond cake for dessert--yum! (For us, the only slightly off note was the wine pairing for the dessert--not sure what it was, but it was incredibly sweet--too sweet for me to drink. But that's a matter of personal preference I think.) I love the comfortable ambiance of Luc.
The food was just ok- ordered the steak frits, and the bevette steak just wasn’t edible....it was probably cut incorrectly, but you just couldn’t chew it. The waiter was very nice in taking it off our bill. With 2 bottle of house wine, 2 salads, 2 inexpensive entrees, and just a few other items this was an expensive dinner! Over $400 including tip. Won’t be returning.
Luc has some of the best steak frittes in town. We had a nice group of friends to dinner here and the service was TERRIBLE!! (It was a Wednesday and the restaurant was 1/2 full). It took our waiter 45 minutes to take our drink order and then another 40 (!) minutes before he returned to take our dinner order. My order came out wrong. In addition, I ordered soda water and after my first glass he brought me a large bottle of sparking water at an attempt to upsell me. I didn't drink it or like it - I just wanted soda water - and he charged me anyway. Service was terrible. I'd be nervous to bring anyone else here based on my experience. We literally had to raise our hand and flag him over every time.
Actually I was very disappointed. At a French restaurant I expect a lot from beef bourguignon and theirs tasted like it was from a can. Service was so so. The frisse salad was pretty good as were the cocktails but all in all I just don't think I'll go back. You're better off across the street at Voila.
Had brunch on Sunday
The blood orange mimosas were not too sweet or too tart, just right.
My husband had the quiche and it was really good!
I had the croque madame and it was so delicious
Always really delicious
Excellent as always. Trout Almondine especially recommended.
Reliably delicious food, great service, consistently high quality!
Very good food in a small, comfortable neighborhood ambience. The menu selection is sufficient and the service is attentive. We eat here infrequently, as the prices are a bit high — but the Madison Valley traffic will bear it.
We have eaten at Luc’s many times and usually the food is excellent. On our most recent Dinner I ordered the special beef short ribs. I love short ribs when they fall off the bone. They should be very tender. These were not. I told the waitress this and she took my meal off our bill. I normally never complain but this was one of the featured meals for the evening and I expected it to be very good. We will still go back again.
Our favorite restaurant. Always a great experience. Loved our rabbit, appetizer, and the blueberry bread pudding. One request: please consider offering a poulet roti with frites.
This place is always great. Our last visit vas perfect - everything, food, service and price.
LUC consistently great place for a casual meal - comfort food - local gem.
Fantastic food and service.
Great French food
I have been to luc many times. I was shocked the place is dirty and the food is substandard.
Mussels and frites are Fantastic-location is great but street parking can be challenging.
Excellent food, everyone enjoyed their meal, staff were attentive.. I would certainly go back.. the only area of improvement is wine list.. the wine list is very limited for a French restaurant
We had eaten at Lou Lay and wanted to try Luc. We were not disappointed. We will be back.
We celebrated a birthday. The staff was very attentive. The food delicious. We will be returning. The desserts were outstanding.
Service, service, service! Oh and great food and drinks, but SERVICE! Fast and friendly and extremely considerate. My date had stepped out to use the restroom when our food was ready so they kept our plates hot while she was away from the table. The water was always full and drinks were always served quickly and not just by our waitress, but all the staff seemed to take notice and make sure we were always taken care of. We'll be back soon!
Excellent raw oysters! Love that they have different size wine glasses. 10 it was perfect. Bouillabaisse was excellent.
went for brunch. Very friendly staff and great food. Food portion was just right if not larger than expected. The mimosas were nice and strong.
Luc is one of our favorites.
Great staff, good food.
We had a lovely dinner in this neighborhood bistro. Service was great, and the food was quite good, but there were enough small missteps that I cannot quite give 5 stars. The house salad contained large uncut leaves, too much dressing and a few walnuts thrown on almost as an afterthought. My husband’s Mule drink was watery and boring. However, both entrees (boulliabaise and sole amandine) were rich and delicious, with perfectly cooked fresh seafood and perfect flavor balance. Our waitress was gracious and attentive. We live a few minutes from this restaurant, and we will certainly return.
The food was exceptional. The appetizers were great the main courses bouillabaisse, boeuf bourguignon and French onion soup all wonderful
We’ve been to Luc a number of times but probably won’t go again. Although the other dinners there were delightful, this outing was surprisingly deflating. We were placed near the front door when other tables were available and I had a cold draft on my back most of the evening. We felt rushed, as though they couldn’t wait to turn the table. My husband’s soup was deposited without a spoon and we had to wait 5 to 7 minutes before somebody came back around who could rectify the situation – the soup cooling all the while. The server was polite enough, but fairly perfunctory in demeanor. And while it was a relatively busy night when we left, it certainly wasn’t when we arrived. We’ve been to all Chef Rautureau’s restaurants, including Rover’s, many times because the food and service is consistently very good to excellent, but I was disappointed this time.
I took my young daughter for an early New Years Eve dinner. The food was delicious, the ambiance was perfect, the live accordion music was great, and staff were awesome. They welcomed my daughter and me warmly, and even got my daughter something bubbly to drink. We had a really nice evening celebrating the advent of a new year, and we ate every bite! Thank you, Luc!
We like to go to the Luc on Sunday night when they have the Coq au vin. It was superb! It comes with or without wine which is a lovely Cotes de Rhone.
It’s a great place to celebrate just before the holidays.
Consistently one of the best 'Local' hangouts in Seattle.
Luc is the go-to place for my godson and me. We love the food and the service.
Having Chef Thierry visit our table for an unhurried genuine conversation was a delight. I had mentioned in my reservation email that we would like to meet him; I had heard that he frequents the restaurants and mingles a lot. Truly a fine restaurateur!
We had a wonderful dining experience! Thank you all.
