“There is no signage for LSXO—you can spot the entrance of it tucked into a section inside Bluegold, but you’ll have to know it’s there. While Bluegold is light, bright, and airy, LSXO is its darker, edgier little sister, ” says Vuong. “Both restaurants operate out of the same kitchen, though the menus are completely different. LSXO offers straight-up, honest, home-style Vietnamese cuisine—the type of food I grew up eating with my grandparents in the San Gabriel Valley.”
From my standpoint this is the best food in Orange County. Consistently delicious and never have had a bad dish. Have eaten here 10 or so times and on the most recent visit there was a mix up with the tables so we were sat quite late, but they couldn’t have been better about it. Very upfront with us and treated us well, so it certainly left a positive impression. Favorite dishes include: lamb satay, eggplant, dumplings and the sea bass.
A restaurant, within a restaurant. Small, 28 person seating in a very cozy and intimate setting. Food is outstanding Vietnamese. Only complaint is the music selection, which didn't really suit the setting and the lighting, which is verrrry low. Make sure you have readers and a flashlight to read the menu. Otherwise, highly recommend. This was my 2nd time at LSXO.
Hated receiving a call the day of the dinner, after I’d already confirmed, asking me for a credit card.
Very poor manners. Just ask at time of reservation!
Staff very nice, very helpful with food allergies. Great music, great vibe.
It's a bar with Vietnamese cuisine. Not truly authentic but offering good mixed drinks makes it worth a trip. Fairly expensive. On the plus side you can see the ocean. Not a fast service place. Expect more than an hour even if there are no visitors.
Always a great time with unique dishes you won’t find anywhere else. The room is rather dark which is cool but you can’t read the menus. Everyone uses their phones for light. The upside is it’s practically impossible to take food and drink photos so no annoying instagram chicks.
One of the best in Orange County.
really fun location (speak easy-ish). Music and view was on point. There were a variety of items from the menu that the waitress said they were out of or was not being served that night so an updated menu is needed, especially for the price
Food was great as always, Shelby took fantastic care of us!
The food was good but not worth the price that they charge. You are definitely paying for the view and the intimacy of the restaurant. Service was very good though. I would only recommend this restaurant if it is a special occasion and you want a different type of setting. Food is definitely not worth what they are going to charge you.
Food was delicious! Our table was right next to the door but since the place is so small, there wasn't heavy traffic. Good restaurant for a date or with a few friends. It is very dark inside the restaurant and the font on the menu is faint so it's extremely difficult to read. A light is a must! The food was pricey. Even though it was very good, I think the food is over priced. The beef dish was $33 and a Tito's soda was $13. Fun place and overall, great experience.
I enjoyed this experience with my family and we were skeptical going in as the menu was quite different. I loved the rice paper rolls and the sea bass was great. Service could use a little help and it’s very dark and the menu has tiny font! Bring your phone so you can read it or they should have tiny flashlights
Good. I like the food and Roberto was the best.
Beautiful view of ocean. Excellent food served tapas style and staff way too casual. Music not at all what I would have chosen. Lovely clean restroom.
When the server greeted our table, she asked if we had any food allergies or items we didn’t care for. I responded that “I did not like cilantro”. To which she stated “I’ll let the kitchen know. Not a problem. I don’t like it either”... From that point forward, it was a competition to see how much cilantro they could put on each and every item I ordered! 4 menu items ordered, none contained cilantro in the description, ALL of them came garnished/inclusive of cilantro! It was almost comical as we built a cilantro mountain in the center of the table as the plates came out! Server just ignored the pile as it grew! That said, our meal was fantastic! But could have been better if I didn’t have to pick through each item prior to taking a bite!
What an amazing experience at LSXO. Food was beyond terrific.
Very fine restaurant..
Delicious menu items
Great to share
Wine prices abut pricey
Food and service was solid, intimate and I'd return for sure.
You’re paying for the ambiance here. I’m sure there are fabulous dishes but the things we ordered were fine but nothing to write home about. Quality not really higher than Vietnamese town and it’s 10-12x the price. Amazing views though.
Especially for lunch, these guys should lower prices. It’s a bit insulting.
Amazing food, delicious cocktails, and one of the best views in town.
Our favorite resturant in Orange County. Food is simply outstanding Service is great atmosphere is super cool and music is awesome 👍👍👍👍
Out of town bisit
Great birthday dinner for my wife
After three attempts to make an order brought the wrong dishes. Lost time and money.
Amazing food Innovatively prepared , creative cocktails and beautiful views.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, our waiter was awesome and wanted nothing but perfection our entire experience. Will be back again and have already recommended to friends!
We had a horrible experience at LSXO. Although the food was great, the service was absolutely terrible. Our server was probably the worst my party and I have ever experienced. She pressured us into ordering as soon as we sat down, forgot what we ordered, spilled food on our guest without apologizing, and was overall unaccommodating. The management never responded to our email regarding our dinner experience. We've been to this restaurant a few times, but overall wouldn't recommend LSXO or Bluegold. There are better restaurants in Pacific City and the Huntington Beach area.
I looked forward to eating at LXSO for my birthday but it was just AWFUL! We asked to sit at the tables by the window and they said they were saved for a larger party. We were a party of three and they sat a couple (2 people) down who didn't even look out the window and another party of 3! We asked to open the drapes near our corner so we could see the water and the hostess said sure then JAYNAY, one of the waitresses very snottily told us that that was impossible. I have food allergies and tried discussing what was in the food bc the menu did not list all ingredients, per JAYNAY (must be pronounced with a snotty attitude). The waitresses come and go and no one specific is assigned to you so I had to keep repeating everything to each of them and they would then say they would check with the chef and get back to us but never did! The food came out cold and snotty JAYNAY finally confirmed that EVERYTHING had ginger in it and said to me "I told you you needed to ask" - once again in a very snotty tone. I'm terribly allergic to ginger so I stopped eating altogether They did NOTHING for my birthday and didn't even offer to validate our parking. I dine out all the time and this is truly one of the worst experiences I have ever had. It was a Saturday night and there were 3 open tables plus the bar seating at 8:00!!! They were only at 50% capacity and still the service was terrible. This place is a flash in the pan. Don't waste your time or money. JAYNAY was so snotty I started thinking that we must be on Candid Camera.
Overall great experience. A little disappointed we had to listen to a screaming child the first few moments we were there. I would not have expected that someone would bring a child to a place like this. Another minor item to point out is that the Dress Code calls for Business Casual but there was a customer that came in wearing shorts and a T-shirt. The staff and food more than made up for the distractions!
Fantastic experience as always. Wonderful crafted cocktails, fantastic array of food chosen by Sasha, and great service.
We will definitely be back.
Great event for an intimate dinner or business event.
Amazing lunch !
Always a great experience!
I enjoyed the ambiance. It was romantic but also fun, loved the music. A little too dark, maybe a few extra candles would help. Food was delicious, decent sized portions for the price.
Food is solid. Just experimental enough without breaking the rules. Music was a bit loud.
Always except. Incredible views during the day. Private club feeling... your own bar and restroom. Treated like a VIP
This place never disappoints. I was excited to have my friends with me, cause I knew they’d be impressed. Excellent food, great service and unbeatable ambiance! 5 Stars!
This was our 2nd time at this spot. We had such a great experience a couple weeks ago that we just had to return. Unfortunately, our 2nd visit left something to be desired. Service was far less good, with long waits for utensils, food, drinks, and just about everything. Some of our food was served burnt and we actually had to send it back to remake. The food overall is excellent quality, but we had a much better experience sitting at the bar on our first visit where we were apparently visible for better service. For a high end, high priced restaurant you would expect better service overall. We ordered way too much and requested the leftovers to go, only to find that the soup we barely touched was not packed in. Lots of little things. I would still go back but strictly for the food.
We’ve been wanting to try this place and so we came and celebrated our sons birthday. His wife is a foodie so we tried 7 different dishes and shared them all including dessert. All were fabulous from the beef tare tare to the shaky shaky beef and jelly fish. Loved the sake flight too.
A little too loud at times, and the second course took a while to come out. Otherwise, great food and great service. It is pricey for Vietnamese food, but a great venue and nice experience down at the beach area.
We asked our server to place orders for us and every option was fantastic. The imperial rolls and dumplings had great flavor and sauces. The service and bartender were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.
