Chef was willing to consider dietary restrictions!!
Overly eclecctic food - pickled veggies we sooo pickles as to be ineatible and chicken crocettes were rather tasteless. This place is a hit with the college set but not a foodie place
Great food, service, and overall experience!
Love, love, love this place! It's just the right level of "elevated casual" in terms of ambiance and food. Comfortable enough to feel like the local hangout, but lively enough that it feels like you are going out. The staff are all terrific: attentive without hovering, and genuine in trying to make sure you are getting what you want. We never felt pressured to order more which i really appreciate. I like that there are some favorite regular dishes on the menu (the steel cut oats are to die for) and seasonal additions (the butternut squash was absolutely amazing). Gave the food a "4" because not everything was a hit (chicken cutlets were on the "meh" side) but I appreciate that they are always trying out new things.
Cocktails and bartender also get stars!
Literally everything was unbelievably delicious. Even things I wouldn't normally eat were so good I couldn't put my fork down.
Had a blast, friendly staff, great food
One of the best meals I've had in Cambridge lately. The menu was extremely locally focused, with foods that you don't see in other restaurants. And the quality and creativity of the dishes (and cocktails!) was excellent.
Other than the noise level everything is great. Took some friends who hadn’t been there before. They loved the food but also noted the noise level and the most uncomfortable seats. Suggest some cushions and cork in the ceiling to dampen noise level.
It's a neighborhood gem. If you haven't gone go. The food is very good and the cocktails are great.
We did the "let the chef choose" option with wine pairings. All of it was quite good - very original dishes and interesting and carefully chosen wines, with explanations for each dish and wine. We really liked the intent of the menu in terms of choices of ingredients and the sense of place. The only things I would point to is that the menu is quite large, and I think it would be a good idea to alert the diners that the last two courses (meat and dessert) are the largest (at least that was the case for us). Also, the restaurant is acoustically bright, so we had to raise our voices to be heard (and for me with only one ear that works, I missed a good bit of the descriptions of wines and food). Service was excellent with very pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient staff. This was our first time, but it will not be our last.
Great meal and service. Very accommodating to special dietary needs. Glad we were able to secure a reservation as it was very busy and long waits for walk-ins. Would definitely return.
We did the chefs selection with wine pairings for our supper group. It was fantastic! The food was great and no stress over what to order. Totally fit for your group of foodies and winos. A+
We've eaten here twice, the first time was a year ago and we enjoyed it, we especially liked the Belon oysters which is why we came back exactly a year later. The Belons are not in season yet and the rest of the menu isn't great. We had the whole redfish which was very good and the brevette steak which was only so so.
Great time, loved the vibe and food was incredible!
Some of the dishes were really good and some were near inedible. I probably wouldn’t recommend given the high price.
Unique and innovative restaurant. Suggested for the adventurous eater who wants to be delighted. Charming staff as well.
The food is exceptional. We went for Sunday brunch. The menu offers items I had not seen before. This is what caught my eye. I highly recommend it.
The food.......wow!
Service coulda been a little better but given the amount of people that showed up on a weekend it didn't take away my overall liking of the place.
Definitely recommend it to others!
It was a beautiful fall day and loyal nine has outside seating. There weren’t too many people at the restaurant and the waitress did a wonderful job of explaining the menu and providing some recommendations.
So everything was working in our favor and the food did not disappoint.
Unusual highlights – – a salad made with chicken hearts.
Everything was fresh and well prepared
Love this place.
Their food is always amazing
So creative
Love Loyal 9
We enjoyed our brunch very much. The food was wonderful and the service by our beautiful waitress Sophia was an added bonus!
Hearty creative and very accommodating of allergies. I miss this place constantly when I'm out of town
Phenomenal food, excellent quality, great service! Everything we had was absolutely delicious.
Attentive and knowledgeable staff
I love dining at Loyal Nine. The menu is interesting - i chose buckwheat dumplings -they were very tasty and beautifully prepared. My friends got the Acadian Red fish fried (last time we had it it was super fresh but not this time).
Also I love their handmade plates but this time we were served on conventional dishes.
I ordered to drink a Negroni and it was delicious! Thumbs up to the Bar man.
The ambiance is gorgeous so spacious and calm, with a huge outside patio. It’s so rare to find places like this in Boston with that sort of vibe and eclecticism.
The service was also very attentive and kind.
Loyal Nine is my favorite restaurant in the Boston area. Between the local New England cuisine, coffee shop, baked goods, and cocktail bar they do it all! Such a great part of my neighborhood.
Tasty and creative food. Cool ambiance, more casual than the website would suggest. Only negative was that the service was slow - waited for 10 min for someone to come get our drink order once we sat down, despite the restaurant being pretty empty.
Crowded and noisy at 12:30 brunch - tables close together and nothing to muffle the sound. Tho' brunch is served till 2 PM, they were out of lobster popovers and substituting wax beans for fiddleheads. Our service was terrible - I had to gesture and ask for ice, pepper, and check. They do not have artificial sweetener for coffee drinks. Nothing about this place worked for me.
The food was amazing—we all got the chef’s choice option, where they choose all the courses to give you and it’s definitely enough to leave everyone stuffed full. The cocktails were yummy too! The only thing semi-lacking was the dessert—it was okay, but nothing to write home about.
A group of seven of us did the Shared Supper for dinner. The food was incredible, especially for the price. We sat outdoors, which I definitely recommend if the weather allows. Service was great as well. Definitely will come back in the future.
I sent a small group of work people with a consultant we had visiting and everyone absolutely raved about the food and the service! Loyal Nine knocked it out of the park for us and we appreciate it!
Food, drinks, and atmosphere were exceptional!
We really enjoyed the food at Loyal Nine. We went for brunch and 2 of us got the lobster popover and one got the breakfast sandwich. The service was mostly good but our server appeared to be new and had to follow up on a lot of our questions. The vibe is really cool and fresh. Would definitely come back
I have been wanting to try this place for a while - it's been on my restaurant bucket list. Came here with my best friend for a late birthday celebration and it was such a delicious experience. We ordered two cocktails each - I had the Pisco in Pink and the bartender's swizzle of choice. My friend got two rye drinks which she seemed to enjoy as well. We ended up getting 4 plates to share: the chicken schnitzel, fried steel cut oats, grilled asparagus, and the summer salad. Everything was incredible and came out at separate times so we didn't feel rushed at all. We sat at a high top in front of the kitchen and even interacted a bit with the kitchen staff. Our waiter was awesome and even brought me out a candle in a candelabra to blow out before our dessert was delivered to the table. Their take on bread pudding with all the accouterments was out of this world. I gave up being lactose intolerant for this dessert and don't regret it for a damn second. I can't wait to come back!
This place is fantastic! Great food, great atmosphere, and amazing staff. They have much more imaginative breakfast options than most brunch places. They also have a nice little cafe so you can sit and do work, and an outdoor patio that is dog friendly!
Really excellent and inventive food! I appreciated the range of dishes, each one was the perfect size to share with one other person — we got four dishes and were full by the end of the meal. Really fun experience!
We asked for the tasting menu. So you really don't know what to expect or type of food you will have
as always, they start with seafood. which is the way it should be.
oysters were fabulous.
the mixing of seafood with other vegetables sometimes works and sometimes it does not.
and one of the last dishes was fried clams. that was not fabulous.
Lovely. Quite quiet in there, which on the one hand was lovely to be able to chat but not that much atmosphere. Still delicious and a lovely night
