   We had a fabulous time on Thanksgiving! We arrived with my small 20 pound dog and asked to sit outside. We had reservations, but they were not able to accommodate us outside due to how busy they were. I thought I would need to put my dog in the car while we ate but the host happily invited my little Chewie in with us into the dining area and immediately brought her a bowl of water. We were greeted with a very friendly staff! That set the pace for the rest of the evening, as the service and food was excellent! We ordered the traditional Thanksgiving meal, turkey, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, and started with the best tasting celery and apple soup. I paid with a credit card and noticed there was not a place to leave a tip so after reading a small note on the menu, I learned this was a tipless restaurant. I felt bad since I hadn’t brought cash to leave something for our amazing server. I had apologized to her, and she was so kind and friendly and said to please not worry about it and wished us a wonderful evening. You just don’t forget things like this. I do plan on returning soon and bringing cash! Lovina is a gem!

   Such a special place! The staff is just wonderful and the food is amazing. It’s a limited menu with only a couple of starters, a couple of entrées, and some desserts but they have an extensive wine and cocktail program. The menu is very clearly marked and they have a lot of gluten-free options.We’ve eaten here several times and every meal has been spectacular. It is quite A special treat however as the lasagna is $39 and the short ribs are $59 for example. Tip is included but you are welcome to pay a cash tip as well if you’d like. The house is beautiful and warm and the gardens glow with beautiful twinkle fairy lights. We make a point of getting a reservation here anytime we are in Calistoga (which is not nearly often enough)

   We were so impressed with the thoughtful menu at Lovina! Our group had several food allergies and there were many options that worked for us all. Even better, the menu made it clear so we didn't even have to ask our server what they could do to accommodate us. And best of all, the service was warm and friendly and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant!

   Wonderful dinner experience. Best beef short rib and Bolognese I’ve EVER had. Solid service. We could really tell the waitress knew the menu well and was passionate about their cuisine. Highly recommend Lovina

    The food, staff and ambiance was tremendous! I was visiting the Napa Valley region for my birthday and went to Lovina for lunch. They had complimentary champagne flutes for me and my date upon arrival. The staff was very greeting and knowledgeable of their food. I had the beef bolognese and it was to die for. Highly recommend and will be back next time I am in Calistoga.

    Lovina is a very beautiful and romantic restaurant with great atmosphere. Food was excellent and even though it was very cold outside, their balcony heater made our experience even better sitting outside. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Napa area

    My husband and I have a standing "Sunday date". We love to have breakfast at Lovina. He gets the same thing every time - French Toast no whip. I have several favorites - Veggie Benedict or Breakfast Sandwich or French Toast. And of course BACON! On special occasions I'll have an awesome grapefruit mimosa. It's all great as of course ALL of the staff are too.

    Chose this spot for an easy Birthday brunch with family, who live in town. Everything was SUPER easy (booked and switched reservation from outdoor to indoor the day before, due to weather). Food & service were phenomenal, and family members who are sensitive to ambient noise had no complaints (which is something we always have to be conscious of when going out). The only glitch was my oversight - there's a large flight of steps to access the upstairs indoor tables (clearly visible in online pics) and I should have specified that we needed a downstairs table. Family member had a knee injury, and although they arrived first and navigated it without any problems, I just wish I would have specified that we needed a downstairs table. Just something to keep in mind if you're booking here and eating with stoics who never complain - but need YOU (or whoever is booking) to pay attention to accessibility issues. Otherwise, it was easily one of the top five breakfast/brunch experiences any of us have had all year (and we eat out A LOT, in exceptional spots all over Napa, Sonoma, Marin, and Mendocino counties). My 'Famous Breakfast Burrito' was killer - but as soon as I saw the other plates ('French Toast' and 'Susie's Remedy') I wanted those, too! Everyone LOVED their meals. The little details on the plate and in service (tiny individual milk bottles for cream are almost aggressively cute...) were on point and I was ready to drive an hour back the next day to try those other dishes. In any case, we'll definitely be back to work our way through this menu. Sidenote: I grew up in town and it was sweet to hear my Dad tell stories about when the restaurant was a Dr.'s office and what it looked like then. Finding a comfortable spot for locals seems like it's becoming more and more of a rarity in Calistoga - but that's my own persistent bias ;)

    Absolutely amazing food, and I love that they pay fair wages and benefits to their employees. The price is still worth it 100% (even if you add addl tip).

    Amazing anniversary dinner! Farro salad was incredible, very well prepared and flavorful. Halibut special was over the top, perfectly cooked and moist throughout the entire filet. August Briggs Chardonnay was the perfect compliment.
