Need to book at 7:00 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Great little place. Food was good, It is a new place, great location.
Casual vibe with good food! Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I particularly recommend the bolognese. Yummy!
Love Lovina. Always delicious
We always enjoy the great food and service at Lovina. As locals, we know we can always depend on an enjoyable experience there. It's our hometown favorite!
The ambience inside is good, the food is better. This is our third visit and we will return again on our visit to Calistoga
We went for weekend brunch. Although the food and atmosphere were good, I thought the prices were a bit too high for what was being served. There are just too many restaurants offering the same type of menu at a lower price point.
It was nice sitting outside. The service was slow but they were friendly. The food was unique. I probably would go back for a glass of wine but not for another meal. I wish we had chosen a different spot.
Delicious food, lovely patio seating and great service!
A great meal in Calistoga. Good wine selection and very friendly to dietary requests.
ordered sausage lasagna...had no idea it was vegan - not what I would have ordered
We have been here four times in the last couple of months; we love the food and the outdoor dining setting, but this time for breakfast on Sunday, the service was absolutely lousy. The servers took other parties' orders before us, even though we were the first to sit down (and it wasn't like we were immersed in the menu; we've been there enough we know what we like!) We had to flag down servers to take our order and to get our bill.
Food was excellent. Service was slow...
Great food, great service, charming restaurant. Will definitely go back!
Pork chop was sensational.
This place is awesome!! What a find in Calistoga! The staff was very accomadting and knowledgeable. Gave excellent recommendations. The food was DELICIOUS!! You guys. DELICIOUS. Do yourself a favor and get the fresh pasta and bolognas, the make it dirty. Thank me later. So Fire!!
The pork chop was the best my wife had ever had in a restaurant. The staff was very helpful in recommending different dishes.
Our first visit to Lovina's was last year when we found out Brannen's was closed. That had been our once a year dinner spot for a number of years. We found Lovina's to be at least as good as Brannen's so we chose it again this year. We were not disappointed.
Great table on the patio with excellent service! Pork chop and steak were delicious! Wished we had room for dessert! We’ll be back!
My only complaint was my first dinner choice wasn’t going to be ready for an hour. Poor planning in the kitchen? But what we did have was superb!
Nice atmosphere friendly service, excellent quality food. Vegan and healthy menu. Somewhat limited selection. San Francisco type place including prices. Good place for right audience. We found it a pleasant experience.
Take the noise level with a caveat that it was a quiet Sunday night.
Dined indoors and the room is inviting and warm. Great service starting as soon as we walked in. Very much a team approach.
Started with the “locally famous” little gem salad because, well, it’s famous. And it deserves to be. Fresh spicy green goddess dressing light coating the local fresh greens (like baby romaine so had texture). Slices of avocado to balance the spice. And instead of big dry overly crunchy croutons there were rye bread crumbles (gonna steal that idea). Very nice.
Took a risk on the prawn and tofu curry because after catching the curry aroma from the kitchen I just couldn’t pass it up. Prawns and tofu had the lightest crunchy rice flour (I’m guessing) or maybe corn starch coating. Crispy but nearly invisible. Then a great curry and sticky rice and vegetables (carrots, potatoes, cauliflower). Just delicious.
The surprise hit was the pork and beef bolognese. The meat was more like fine diced stew meat than typical ground meat. Deep tomato flavor with a little pepper spices. Wow!
the restaurant, staff and food was great but there was a nonsense group of 4 women of which two started arguing about something one of them did or didnt say. They appeared to be drinking wine all day and certainly while at the table which may or may not have influenced the loud argument.
Wonderful & delicious food (we both had the mushroom risotto) Along with the burrata and tomatoes—so fitting for this time of year! 10+ for the food!
We were there on a Friday evening (with reservation) and were seated promptly. The staff was busy & hopping that evening (?short a person) so at times things were a little slower than what we’ve had in the past but they were all very pleasant & helpful. ,
Food expensive and very mediocre. Server pushed the sturgeon which was not good at all. Salmon mediocre. Only good thing was the hot mess dessert. Would not recommend this restaurant.
The food was delicious and unique.
I love this little gem in Calistoga, my hometown. The food is fantastic and the outdoor setting a favorite in the area. Seasonal options are always something to look forward to. The servers are always very nice, however, they could be a little more efficient. Nice for a relaxing lunch, but not always easy to get in and out on an hour lunch break.
Chicken yum yum was not so much. The waiter said it was like chicken Marsala? I guess, but no mushrooms or Marsala flavor. Just thick spicy sauce. Husbands dish was also strange and loaded with tofu chunks.
I must admit we were disappointed. The food was not very good and service very slow.
Ron & I have breakfast most Sunday’s at Lovina. This particular occasion we brought two friends with us. We all enjoyed what we ordered.
There was nothing outstanding from this restaurant and the prices were exorbitant. The food was meh, the service was slow when there weren’t many people there. Took about 30 min to bring us drinks bc they were cleaning their flute glasses. When they asked if they could bring drinks to us in wine glasses we were shocked they hadn’t automatically substituted. Dinner took over an hour to get to us and was ok. We couldn’t wait to get out of there. Even the check took a while. Very charming spot but go elsewhere for exorbitant prices.
We had brunch on Saturday of Labor Day Weekend and were very underwhelmed. The restaurant is charming and we sat on the patio but there was no breeze and the flies were vicious. A couple of stand fans would have helped. The service was spotty and slow and when it came time to pay they took over 15 minutes after they took our credit card and we had to remind them to finish out the check. My husband had the mushroom toast and it was charred. I had a very rich dish that really needed some acid, tomatoes or a lightly dressed green would have balanced out the amount of slightly undercooked potato. We were very disappointed in our experience and being Bay Area residents expected better from Lovina.
Loved it, fun, good salads and appetizers! Wine and service was excellent!
We loved everything about Lovina, and can't wait to go back!
We had a small table on the patio, which was cozy. The server did a great job recommending dishes which we loved. Their homemade ricotta was delicious. The traffic on the road was very loud but still worth it to sit outside.
very nice food, service, typical Northern CA dinning, had the salmon and the pork chop, very nice.
Great little gem in Calistoga. Not a huge menu but covered all the bases. The food, however, was not basic. Basic ingredients with flair. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
Lovely brunch spot with cozy outdoor seating. Ordered the french toast and it was delicious although on the heavier side. Highly recommend for a weekend breakfast or lunch spot!
High quality food, courteous service, nice location in the heart of Calistoga. What’s not to like?
Friendly people! If you go here you have to try the French Toast!
The servers were wonderful, so friendly and charming. And we loved eating outdoors. The food however was just okay. The pork chop was a nice piece of meat but overcooked and dry. Risotto and prawn curry were just okay.
