We had an excellent meal seated outside. There is a lot of traffic noise, but everything else was great.
We were inside. The food and service were outstanding. It is a small restaurant so it doesn't take much for it not to be quiet but once they turned the music down it was just fine. Definitely would go back
Nice spot in Calistoga for Brunch. Fantastic ingredients and a relaxing patio outside to enjoy.
Delicious food, cheerful atmosphere. Our family of six shared all our lunches, and the staff was helpful and accommodating. The salads were excellent.
Our group of six was set up in a private dining room within the facility so we felt we were getting extra special treatment. It was a no corkage fee night which allowed us to bring our own wines! The food was excellent, the dessert outstanding and the service was very professional. All in all, a nice addition to Calistoga.
I loved the food I had, but there were not too many vegan options for my friend and the waitress was not sure what could be done for her. I’d recommend them having a menu for that and also to indicate gluten free or not.
Very interesting place it was a great end to our trip to Napa.
Very good service but a bit too noisy. It’s tough to get the table right next to the speakers.
Lots of fun! We arrived in time for Happy Hour, so took advantage of lots of appetizers and some delicious wine. We sat outside and enjoyed the soft early evening air. The risotto with wild mushrooms and kale salad were fabulous. The tab was very reasonable, The staff was friendly and helpful, but never pushy. Can’t wait to come back!
Innovative cuisine, fresh and seasonal ingredients, sophisticated but not pretentious. Would definitively go back and recommend it. Two blemishes: the focaccia, which is nowhere close to the real thing, no matter how much leeway you allow for interpretation and the waiter, very amiable, but forgetful and absolutely ignorant about how to serve. The chef is a A+
Every dish was full of flavor and served with grace. My guest, an oyster-lover, was delighted to have the option of raw oysters, made her evening!
I love Lovina. The menu is always interesting, and there are lots of things to order as a non meat eater. It feels very local, cozy and friendly
Outstanding dinner! We have never had a less than awesome experience here for brunch, lunch or dinner. We love to sit outside on the patio with our pup and the indoor dining is small town sweet and cozy. We last had dinner here on Monday Fried Chicken Night. The best fried chicken we both have ever had and definitely plan to make this a habit!
There aren't very many restaurants to choose from when visiting Calistoga but this is one of the great ones. Small place, very courteous employees and food was excellent. For me personally I wish there were a few more items on the menu to choose from. Either that or maybe they have a menu that changes often. I feel as though if I went there another time, I would be ordering the same dish I ordered this time due to that's the only dish that had ingredients I knew I would enjoy. But it was amazing and I would go back just to order it! Between tasting both the Napa Wild Mushroom Risotto and the Chicken Tiki Yum-Yum I'd have to say the rest of the dishes should be excellent!
Absoultely fabulous! Jen has a wonderful culinary sense that makes complex flavors approachable. The atmosphere is relaxed and clean. Definite MUST do dining in wine country!!!
My. wife ordered chicken dumplings and received one in the center of a bowl of soup for $22. I had mushroom risotto which would have been better were it not over-salted. (just so you know, I like salt, but this was overpowering), cost &29. Most single glasses of wine were in the $16 range. Honestly, I think the food and wine were way over-priced..
I absolutely love the duck confit kale salad .. whatever secret sauce they use for the dressing is delicious! I have dined at Lovina several times and I have never had a bad meal. Their mushroom risotto is delicious and my friend's cioppino was filled with succulent shell fish and seafood. I highly recommend this gem.
As a local I have never been to Lovina and I have to see I was missing out. Everything to my check in, food and Customer service was very lovey. I definitely will come back.
Good food, nice staff, just a little unorganized. We ordered food to be staggered, and it all came at once -- once it started to come.
I ordered the tiger prawns and tofu in curry. The prawns were cooked to perfection. They were fried and crunchy but not over cooked. The disappointment was with the “curry”. It did not smell, taste or look like any curry I have eaten. Not red, green or yellow in color.
The service was impeccable from the minute I walked in the door, to being seated and served
Maybe my menu choice was wrong as I heard the next table rave about the risotto and bolognese.
I chose Lovina because earlier in the day I was walking around town checking out dinner menus at the assortment of restaurants. A couple had just finished brunch and commented about the really good food.
When I return to Calistoga I will give the restaurant another shot.
Great experience, wonderful customer service, definitely the brunch experience you would want to have. Strongly exceeded our expectations and would visit again.
Bolognese to die for! Get it dirty
Mild experience for a $50 breakfast.
Great dinner on the patio after a day of wine tasting
Food was outstanding. The baked oysters and squash cheese dip was very tasty. Recommend the mushroom risotto and the seafood chioppino. Just one little hiccup where the entree came at the sametime as the appetizers. Server took it back when he realized the error, but the replacement came a little longer than expected after the first course. Still, a place highly recommended.
A great addition to Calistoga, delicious and unfussy.
Best risotto I have ever had, they even made it vegan for us and it was fantastic.
The food is very delicious and the service is excellent. I already recommended this restaurant to my friend and will do it again.
Food was good but the bottle of wine we ordered didn’t arrive until after our entree arrived. It would have been a lot nicer to have been able to start drinking the wine while waiting for the food.
we had a nice time at Lovina - we were a group of friends and they put us in a small side room which was lovely. the food was great and service was good although I think we were overlooked a bit in the little side room - but overall it was great and we will return.
One of my favorite spots in all of wine country! Wonderful brunch! I love the butternut squash soup and the bread pudding! The patio is lovely on a sunny day!
Lovina has found it's groove! We are locals and are happy to see the kinks have been worked out at Lovina. Lamb with lentils - delish; Bolognese too much Calabrian chili - we can add our own; pork chop was very good. Loved everything except the lag between entree and dessert. I found the sweet offerings overall aren't on the same, high par as the savory selections.
Service was amazing! Appetizers were great but entrees were ok.
Fun place. Small but varied menu & wine list. Friendly staff. Will return.
Always enjoyed the predecessor Calistoga Kitchen. Lovina made an initial good trsnsition however the recent menu was disappointing. Very limited and most seemed to be a variation on salades.
This unfortunately seems to be the reality of smaller Napa restaurants as they cope with the economic reality of finding staff.
Restaurants either close or taylor menu offerings reflecting the reality of the area.
The kitchen wAs
Short staffed so food took a bit to arrive but the restaurant was so gracious towards us and offered many comps and apologies. Couldn’t have been nicer and the food was definitely worth waiting for!
Everything was fresh and beautifully prepared. It is everything you want and expect of Napa.
We had a lovely time at Lovina. Very friendly staff, delicious food and a nice selection of wine. We were very happy and will definitely go back when we are in town again.
Nice restaurant with a cozy feel. Food was really good and their Lovina mimosa was good as well.
Service was very efficient .
Given the other reviews dinner was a huge disappointment My husband's pork chop was delicious but the accompanying sides were very salty. I ordered a dinner size portion of chicken and dumplings. Avoid at all costs! There were three small bites of chicken, three slices of carrots, no potatoes, some celery and the dumpling was raw. A huge hunk of dough in the middle of slightly greasy soup. One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.
