   I have dined here many times and used to really like this restaurant. Unfortunately my opinion has changed after our Mother’s Day brunch experience. We arrived on time for our 1:45 outdoor reservation and were told it would be just a few minutes to clear the table and get us seated. After standing around for 10 minutes we checked again and were told the previous party had paid but were still occupying the table and there was nothing they could do to make them leave. We waited 10 more minutes and became nervous that we wouldn’t make our wine tasting appointment after brunch and conceded to noisy indoor seating near the bathroom with two uneven tables pushed together. I noted that the party occupying our table finally walked out at 2:15 - 30 minutes after we should’ve been seated! I know the restaurant can’t force patrons to leave, but they should also build in some buffer time between reservations. Now, for the service… our waitress was inattentive and extremely slow. We waited forever to order, and had already finished our drinks by the time the food came out (of which, only 3/5 of us got our food while the other 2 continued to wait). We had to flag other staff down to ask for our waitress to come back because she disappeared. I have a stomach condition and often place half orders so I don’t waste food. They wouldn’t allow me to do this and offered one “eggs and bacon” option from the kids menu, which I easily could’ve made myself. After waiting for our table, then our drinks, then food - I had worked up a full bladder. I kept trying for the bathroom, but with only a single toilet it was constantly occupied. When it finally opened up, I made my way over, only to be cut in front of my the floor manager… and to make matters worse, he left the toilet seat up! All and all this was a terrible experience and I was so embarrassed to have taken my mom here on Mother’s Day. Being busy and overbooking tables is no excuse, and we heard plenty of those from the staff.

   Food was very good…very busy day so service s bit slow, but acceptable…very nice staff….

   The staff were very friendly and one of the staff made a vase as her hobby is pottery. She gave me one as it was Mother’s Day and put wild flowers on it. Made me feel so special. Food was great not a lot of sodium and it was farm to fork as the salmon for the eggs Benedict tasted fresh.

   Great vegetarian options. Service was exceptional. The outdoor seating area was incredible. You should go there!

   Food was excellent as always - greatly appreciate Lovina having delicious vegan options for brunch. Patio was beautiful and shaded.

   I had such a memorable dinner at Lovina tonight to celebrate my Name Day. I had mentioned in the reservation that it was a special occasion, and the staff went above and beyond — greeting me at the door with a hand-signed card from the team and a sweet surprise gift. What a thoughtful way to start the evening! Lovina has become my go-to for special occasions. I live in Napa and always make a point to bring friends here when they’re visiting or to celebrate a birthday. Tonight, I sat on the upstairs patio with my dad and everything about the experience was lovely. We especially enjoyed the halibut, and the polenta mushroom bites were a standout. The beet and cheese salad was another unexpected favorite — fresh and perfectly balanced. What really sets Lovina apart is the genuine hospitality. The service is warm and welcoming, and the general manager took the time to personally greet us and make sure everything was perfect. In a region where some spots can feel overpriced or overly polished, Lovina delivers both quality and heart. Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike — it’s a gem in downtown Calistoga.
