Saturday/ Sunday/ Holidays 9 am- 9 pm
Closed Tuesday/ Wednesday
It took a long time for the food to come out but when it did it was delicious.
Wonderful place for every day or special occasion! Great service, great food!
We dined many times at Calistoga Kitchen, which was in this same location, but had gone downhill and then closed. We came on a Saturday for the first time for brunch and were very pleasantly surprised! Best meal of the weekend - we liked it over Evangeline, Calistoga Inn, and Solbar, which are usually our favs. But Lovina is our new favorite! Excellent food, service, and ambiance. LOVED their special mimosa, with Lillet and strawberry sorbet, seasonal soup and entrees. Were too full for dessert, but they looked outstanding! We'll be back!
Absolutely spectacular!! Try Susie's remedy - good even if you don't have a hangover!!
It was my wife's birthday and also Thanksgiving, so we wanted a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner, which was very nice and the whole evening was a pleasant experience. Will definitely return next time we are in Calistoga.
Very good experience. Food was different and really good. Really loved the kimchee avocado (could really use something like a chip or bread to go with it). I could have eaten like 5 helpings of that!! The shrimp cocktail is fabulous! Though I’d go with an even amount of shrimp so there isn’t a fight over the last shrimp when there is a couple sharing. 😁
Loved the mushroom risotto and the Indian inspired chicken and rice dish was also good.
Looking forward to coming back and trying some new items soon.
This is one of our favorite spots, the food is always great and so is the service
Local Sunday dinner was delicious. We both started with the Little Gems and Avocado Salad and enjoyed the zesty, crunchy, fresh flavors and textures. Dinner was the Pork & Beef Bolognese Pasta (+dirty!) which was perfectly prepared al dente -- a creamy, hearty, satisfying experience. Shared the Sundae Funday dessert which we love. Oscar was a terrific server and it is always fabulous to chat with Kaitlin (one of the owners). See you again soon!
We had a reservation through open table and when we got there at our scheduled time they told us we had a half hour wait. We walked down the street and sat down immediately.
We had a truly delicious dinner with friends at Lovina on a busy Friday night; the perfect spot for fab sharing plates, decent and affordable local wines and beers, plus lively but not crazy loud vibe. Outstanding dishes are the polenta appetizer, grilled pork chop and hot mess dessert.
Only drawback on a busy night is service can be slow. Otherwise, all good at Lovina. We’re going to make this a go to every time we’re in Calistoga
Food was excellent, lovely atmosphere, great service.
We came for a dinner with group of friends and had to wait for our main course food for almost an hour...
Sunday dinner rush and I guess the staff was really slammed because other than getting the table every segment of the service was slow, slow, slow. I mean, twenty minutes to bring out a salad? And I was surprised when our waiter brought our bottles of beer and beer glasses then left us to serve ourselves. Huh?! However, the entrees -- we ordered the Risoto and Cioppino -- were very good and the Hot Mess dessert was the epitome of dessert decadence.
My wife and I visited for a casual Sunday brunch and were very happy with the overall experience. The food was outstanding (get the Avocado toast), the bloody Mary's were flavored with a wonderful spice and the Soju was mild, and the coffee was strong and plentiful!
You should visit.
Went her for a birthday celebration & already planning to go back. All the food was delicious & the waitress was very attentive & pleasant.
Lovely decor, we were seated inside. Great, friendly server. Interesting food selection. The Rolling Stones music was TOO loud for an enjoyable dining experience.
Beautiful outdoor seating area. Very busy; had to wait even with reservation but it was worth it to sit outside.
Staff will exceed your expectations. The food is outstanding. Very friendly.
This was absolutely one of our best meals - for all 5 of us! We loved everything. The oysters were beyond outstanding and the Nee York Strip was donned as “the best steak ever!”
Our wine was delicious, everything was presented beautifully and in a timely manner - we had a terrific meal.
I do wish that the restaurant would have made a little more of an effort to make it special for my dads 70th birthday celebration, especially given the fact that I called ahead of time and put it in my reservation notes. I didn’t feel that a special table was arranged (since we saw them put it together right when we arrived and it was at the front door area) and I felt the need to let another server know about the birthday candle on my way to the bathroom. BUT, none of that affected how wonderful our food and wine was. We would do everything all over again - I personally just wished it could have been something a little more special for my dad’s celebration.
We were so disappointed with our experience at Lovina. It has such good reviews and locals also told us it was good, but our visit was in the nightmare category. First, there were two nice empty tables for 4 inside and we had a reservation, were on time and they took about 10 minutes to finally offer us one of the tables. Weird! We felt unwanted from the start and we were dressed nicely and excited to be there. Second, 3-4 people came to our table but did not ask us for a drink order. Two other groups, seated after us, had their beverages and were enjoying them before we even ordered something! We finally got to order food, and as we were very hungry, we also ordered the focaccia bread thinking it would be quick. We continued to sit without food or drink for another long period when the bread finally came, and it looked like wheat bread and had a tiny bit of oil with herbs to dip it in. There was no flavor to the oil at all.
OK, as bad as all this was, there were a few bright spots such as all the starters (melon/prosciutto salad, bibb lettuce salads, the kimchee marinated avocados) and the wine selection. Once we got our actual server, he was good and was trying to make up for all the delays and was nice and also efficient. However, the actual main dishes were not particularly good and 2 were downright awful looking in terms of how they were plated. The Tofu Curry on white rice, in a white bowl with virtually no vegetables had zero eye appeal and the tofu lacked flavor.
Also, even though we noted via our OpenTable reservation it was a special occasion (birthday) and that we'd appreciate it being acknowledged, no one mentioned a thing. In addition, our window table which was very pretty and very cold air coming in the vents right on our legs. It took more than a half hour for this to be addressed so we shared sweaters to put over our legs and placed our handbags on top of the vents but were still cold, which is definitely not comfortable.
Delicious brunch. Nice to have a Thursday alternative to traditional Sunday activity. Loved it.
We waited 50 minutes for a single shared entre. This was after 30 minutes of being seated and eating our appetizers. When we finished our appetizers they cleared the table and 20 minutes later, the server set our plates and silverware and said our plate was coming out momentarily. It took another 30 minutes before that one single plate came out. That’s a total of 50 minutes AFTER we finished our appetizers.
We have eaten here a few times. Food is always excellent, lovely ambiance, personable servers. Sometimes slow, but worth the wait.
Very Nice people. Our server was awesome. The food was incredible. Salmon and New Strip Entrees. Heirloom Tomato salad with buffala cheese gelato. Wow! Plus Thursday was no corkage charge for a vino carryin. Walking distance from Euro Spa Inn (another great place)
Delicious but overpriced---$29 for spaghetti with meat sauce---nothing else included, not even bread? $36 for a pork chop, with 2 bites of salad included, no bread? Drinks are equally ridiculously priced. You'd think this was high-end Hawaii not in sleepy Calistoga, CA.
We love the atmosphere at Lovina! Such a cozy little house with a warm feeling the minute you walk in from the friendly welcome to the touch points throughout the meal. It’s like having dinner at a neighbors house!
The food offers unique dishes that are always delicious, fresh ingredients, and unique twists on flavors.
Tasty and a great breakfast place. The French toast killer and the creative plates too.
Food was okay - a little bland but was turned off by the $20 corkage fee.
We always love going to Lovina for dinner. It's one of our favorite local restaurants.
Tasty seasonal food! The heirloom tomato salad was divine followed by the mushroom risotto. Varied wines available by the glass all in a unique setting.
What a wonderful evening in Calistoga spent at Lovina . . excellent food and service! We'll be back.
We were very disappointed. It took forever to get a server and then we noticed that everyone at the table next to us receive Fed their food at different times. Plus they were out of the entree my husband was most interested in (at 6:30). We got an appetizer and left.
An outstanding surprise. We ate at a couple of the big name Napa Valley restaurants that rank near the top of every foodie list on our brief trip, and Lovina’s food was every bit as good. There were 3 in our party all week and Lovina was the favorite meal for all of us. The pork chop is to die for. Salmon was also wonderful. We started with splitting an heirloom tomato salad and spinach dip. Fabulous. Zero complaints. Well, maybe one. No cocktails, but that might not be a problem for others. We will be back. We just may start with a drink across the street. I will be thinking about that pork chop for a long time.
Wonderful service. It was my sister’s birthday and they made it very special. We ate in the garden patio, which is beautiful. The food was outstanding!
Best meal that I have had in Calistoga. We had a great time and the food was amazing.
Great food beautiful place just service was so slow.
They let us taste the wine before buying the bottle. I love places that do that. It's a cute place, and we opted for outside dining, but the inside looked cute, as well. We had the most amazing heirloom tomato with burrata gelato. I could have had a whole bowl of the gelato. Savory, but with a hint of sweetness. Ohmygod! I had the shrimp and tofu dish, and my husband had the strip steak. My dish had too many potatoes. Our server suggested adding mushrooms to the dish, which I did, and I'm so glad. It should have had more mushrooms and less potatoes. And it should have had more spice. The shrimp and tofu were cooked perfectly. My husband was worried, because he's never received quality skirt, but he saw some plates come out of the kitchen, and felt confident ordering. He loved it! We had dessert and it was high quality, too. Good wine, great attention to detail, this place is to be repeated!
The food was good but not exceptional. I had the duck confit salad, which was nicely prepared but lacked flavor complexity. It needed more acid or maybe a touch of sweet like some dried cherries. The fried mushroom polenta was good but again the sauce accompanying it was a bit blah. The restaurant is cute, with a nice patio, and not too loud for conversation. Service was very pleasant but slow.
While the food was good and the atmosphere idyllic, the portions where barely there, especially given the price. Paid $16 for an heirloom salad that maybe had 1.5 tomatoes in it. I left hungry.
