   Unfortunately our experience dining at Lou’s was poor, to the extent that I rarely review; however, given the cost, I felt like sharing was warranted. We ordered the starters, and subsequently the main, requesting that the mains be held back for at least 20 minutes. Our starters were satisfactory, other than the over use of various irrelevant “garnishes” for presentation purposes, including significant volumes of Enoki Mushrooms which at an Italian restaurant seemed very out of place. Our starter plates were cleared just after we finished, and the mains arrived immediately, no gap in course delivery at all. Our mains were Pork Belly and Beef Brisket. Both mains had what appeared to be frozen packet vegetables (carrot, peas and corn), if these weren’t frozen packet ingredients, they may as well have been. There was one overcooked broccolini stem with the pork dish. Again significant volumes of Enoki Mushrooms were used for garnish/presentation purposes, why? The Pork Belly had virtually no crackling, with 90% of the skin rubbery and impossible to eat. One of the Brisket pieces was cooked OK the other piece was dry. Overall the experience failed to honor the restaurant’s website claims; we’ve had multiple far superior meals in non-restaurant establishments. The cost was $215 for two starters, two mains and just two drinks, which would be acceptable except for the poor quality of the meals and overall poor dining experience.

   Booked here for my father’s birthday as we came here last year and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. This year however was a completely different story. I am not sure if the owners have changed or just staff were new? My father and I bother ordered the gnocchi and it was borderline cold. All the other meals came out and when asked how everything was going I said that it was dish that the gnocchi was not hot. It tasted delicious but it was just left on the pass too long I presume. I was offered a replacement meal but others had already begun eating and did not want to eat when others finished. The chef made a point of bringing out the dish as intended and it was hot and delicious but I gave it to my father as it was his birthday and I wanted him to enjoy the food. I am not sure why both weren’t replaced but irrespective there seemed to be a serious communication breakdown and not just for this circumstance but multiple throughout the day. Just so disappointing as the food is delicious. Maybe it was a bad day?

   The food was good but not outstanding. The entree came quickly after ordering and then our mains turned up within another minute (we weren’t even half way thru the entrees). Not sure if they were trying to hurry us out or their timing was out. We felt rushed so once we were finished we left. 35minutes from walking in the door to paying the bill. If you’re looking for fast food this is your place. It wasn’t the dining experience we were looking for

   The food was good the service was excellent , the deserts were also gd followed by a nice Muscut

   You would be mad ro skip this. Great food, very friendly staff, that know the menu no "let me go and check", they knew all the answers.

   Loved our meal at Lou's place and had great service from the staff. Unfortunately one of the dishes (pork belly) was very dry and tough with no crispy crackling- feedback we passed on to the staff while there. Feedback was accepted gracefully and with apologies. Such a shame, as the rest of the experience was lovely. I am local and had never been to Lou's before - brought some interstate friends. I will definitely come back again. The restaurant manager was very friendly and helpful with menu and wine choices. Would recommend Lou's by Horizon for sure.

   Very nice lunch venue, staff are very attentive, Nelson gets 5 stars. Food is great, well seasoned, good portions. Garlic green beans are yum. Filo desert gorgeous. Recommend the Centenarian 2018 Shiraz Mourvedre. Can't go wrong here.

   We had the feed me option, primo of pasta and risotto where amazing. Beef brisket excellent and date and pistachio pancakes were crisp and sweet. The white wine flight went very well with lunch. The venue was lovely and staff were very helpful and polite

   Fantastic spot that Ive been back to a few times now. As usual the service and food was great as were the quality of wines.
