Tons of staff but very little attention to patrons. Our waiter took our order with zero enthusiasm, and the next time we saw him again was when we asked for the check. He never stopped by after the food was delivered, never asked how our food was, didn’t offer additional drinks, made no suggestions or provided any specials. Overall, a very poor experience in terms of service. Atmosphere was good, as was the energy and vibe. Will not be back.
Amazing food, gorgeous atmosphere, attentive staff, and fun cocktails! Highly recommend for date night or girls night!
Good food overall. Expensive for what we got. Good drinks, though the drink menu does need some variety. I would recommend this place though. It’s our second time coming. They’re new, it’s a fun space. They’re getting their grove and we’ll be coming back. First week was rough, now a month in we’re seeing a ton of improvement. Can’t wait for more.
LouLou is now my favorite go to restaurant! I live close by! I love the atmosphere and the food! Service is great too! Service can be a little slow sometimes, but it’s a new restaurant and they are always busy. I highly recommend ordering few small dishes to share and the bird cocktail is amazing!
Waiter was very rude. Octopus tasted bland and boiled. Cheese was great, duck confit was good
I am a vegan and they were able to satisfy that. I am very appreciative of that. The food was v good. Just some knicks that have to be worked out. Busboys should not have taken a dish away when I was not "finished." I will definitely go back!!
I was very excited to try a new restaurant in the Chelsea neighborhood. The host was very pleasant but seemed frazzled, even when we told her we had a reservation. The wait staff is very personable and have great personalities. Unfortunately, that's it. I was eating with my friend who is a seasoned waiter and he was appalled by the service. He said it was worse than his nightmares as a server. The waiter was inattentive, lacked any knowledge of the food and/or drink menu. He asked us numerous questions after we ordered, running back from the kitchen. I would normally say this was fine because I want the order to be accurate but it was excessive and strange. We waited an incredible time for our food. To put it in perspective, our meal was over two hours. I get they need to work out some kinks because it's new but it was bad, almost comical. Tables around us were standing up in their seats, one man was yelling and others walked out of the restaurant. While the managers were onhand, they were ignoring these obvious issues. One manager was actually too busy drinking with his friends at a nearby table. On the otherhand, the bus boy and kitchen were great! The food was delicious and exactly what we ordered - wonderful job. Unfortunately, 50-75% of the front of house staff needs to be changed. I really hate to say this, but they're not right for this job. The location, environment, vibe and decor are wonderful. I would highly reccomend to avoide this restaurant for a few months due to the staffing issue. Again, I really hope they turn it around because the food is great and has the potential to be a wonderful local restaurant.
Great spot! Service is great but kitchen is slow.
It is loud but fun! Yummy cocktails
Nice night out! Delicious food and great ambiance!
There is an error on the menu: the menu says burrata “with artichoke”; there was no artichoke. We pointed this out, observing that the artichoke was the reason we tried the burrata. They explained belatedly that this was an error on the menu. We didn’t write the menu, they did. They should have served us a side of artichoke to correct their error, since they had them. They need to correct their menu, and make sure customers feel that they are getting what they pay for. Were they too full of themselves to comp the burrata or give us a side order?
Still quite a few things that need work on.
- crispy pork belly and seared scallops - missing scallops and the server didn’t understand that something was wrong even after we pointed it out until another server came by to help
- we ordered 1 foie gras but 2 came. We thought they split the plate for us until we saw the charge on our bill.
- we ordered a stuffed squid and it was completely missed. We had to ask at the end of our meal
- bathrooms - one had the wrong size of toilet seat cover, another was missing toilet paper. The upstairs bathroom is located in a weird corner. I would not want to book a group dinner in that space as it’s kinda awful to have random people go in and out for bathroom. I can see my guests having to stand up to let wheelchairs pass by as well. It may be better off with smaller tables there.
- tried 2 wines and both were bad with no taste even though I’m not even a picky wine drinker
- cocktails were weak and not done according to our requests - martini with twist came with olive instead, the bird cocktail asked for spicier came like juice with no alcohol and no heat
Excellent Experience in a beautiful dinner room, there is also a bar / Lounge room Downstairs where they serve delicious drinks and play great music (Great Space for celebrations). Definitely going back!
The food was mediocre at best, completely harassed by the staff and rushed out. OooF
Beautifully designed restaurant with a good vibe and delicious food. Will definitely be back!
Such a wonderful addition to the chelsea/meatpacking neighborhood. I came here for after work drinks/dinner with a girlfriend but this is also a really cute date spot. The service was attentive and i really liked the atmosphere. the bronzino and camembert cheese were my favorite dishes. Also a really impressive wine selection. Can't wait to come back.
Really great new spot in Chelsea! Awesome vibe for a date with their creative cocktails and delicious small plates. Definitely recommend the duck leg confit.👌Bringing my whole team here next week for a dinner and then drinks downstairs at the speakeasy.
Excellent service, Delicious menu. We had the wild mushroom flat bread, steak frites.. cooked to perfection! And a couple of cocktails. Loved the ambiance. Highly recommended!
I wish I would have waited before writing my 1st review because I returned the next night with girlfriends after raving about my first night there and I have to say it was absolutely awful due to the management/owners. We had an 8:15p reservation and were seated around 9:20p. The hostess continuously sat people ahead of us and after asking her why numerous times, she finally told us the "owner had friends needing to be sat first". Wow, ok. 3 different tables she said they were cleaning off for us, he gave up to his “burning man” crew all coming in back doors and up from the speakeasy. We asked to speak with the owner probably half a dozen times, but he couldn’t be bothered with us and continuously & blatantly kept sending her to us to be the scapegoat. He was too busy literally popping bottles & taking selfies at all the friend tables. Once we sat we immediately ordered food and after another HOUR went by with no food, we told the waitress we wanted to cancel and leave, it was 10:30pm. The owner then came over and said give me 5 mins and he finally got food to us. Meanwhile tables sat before us had already eaten and left. I get new openings mean much slower operations until everyone gets in their groove, totally understandable, but it was slow because management was too busy picking & choosing who they wanted to sit and schmooze. "Front door" customers were made to feel 2nd class and left waiting with no regard from the owner. It was clear the divide between local Chelsea customers and his VIPs. If I wanted that treatment I’d go to Catch or Tao. If they want to keep locals coming, the management needs to drop their ego and step up their hospitality to ALL paying customers. Kuddos to the wait staff and bartenders who were all great and very hardworking! The food we had was great & the vibe is awesome, so no issues there.
Loulou is a much needed addition to Chelsea! Everything about this place was pulled off to perfection. The drinks are incredible, the food was great, the ambiance is sexy but still warm and cozy and the bar is stunning! The best part of this place (to top it off) is the staff! They are so attentive, accommodating and so nice! Great job to my new favorite neighborhood spot!!
I had a such a fun time at dinner at Loulou! Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! I especially loved the branzino, scallop, artichoke, and nisoise salad! Then we went to the speakeasy downstairs for drinks! Favorite drink is the Mexican stiletto!
So excited about this place in the neighborhood!
Great place to meet friends, or to celebrate a special occasion. Food atmosphere and music was all so great! Can’t wait to go back and have the drink Mexican Stiletto
