WHO ARE WE?
We’re the second generation of two Greek families that came to Canada to open some of Vancouver’s longest running restaurants.

Now, we’re taking everything we’ve learned from them to offer a brand new dining experience.

WHAT ARE WE ABOUT?
Loula’s is the Greek nostalgia of our upbringing infused with modern dining trends that have intrigued us. The atmosphere and cuisine are an homage to our namesake, a woman dear to our hearts who always leaves you in good spirits with a full stomach. Expect that overwhelmingly authentic Greek experience when you step through our doors—along with a few other things you won’t expect. You’ll just have to trust us.

WHERE ARE WE?
We’re located in the heart of Commercial drive, a spot we feel quite at home in. If you know anything about The Drive, you know it’s warm, vivacious and a little kooky.

For what was expected to be a fine dining experience after reviewing the website, it turned out quite differently. We ordered the Mediterranean dip with 3 dips and this was the best dish of the night. The kalamari had no flavour and was not hot when it reached our table. The Lavraki Crudo - seabass appy, was very overpriced for 6 slivers of fish with a dressing. The tiger prawn souvlaki was good & sweet and the Paidakia lamb was well made. Music was far too loud for a normal conversation - this is my main objection for rating this experience. The 1st server was great, the 2nd server was not attentive and missed the dessert order; but when it arrived the Bougatsa was unique and tasty.

The restaurant was amazing! It was easy for us to find street parking so we were ten minutes early, but we were still seated right away. The servers and team were so kind, food was amazing, and overall vibe was great. They even decorated our seat with balloons for my friend’s birthday! We definitely plan to go back - 10/10.

Won’t be coming back. Food is mid, especially for Greek. Service is slow. People doing blow in the bathroom. Tables are so small you can’t even fit plates. Anything we asked for didn’t arrive. Go if youre 19-22. Otherwise not a spot for eating or for anyone out of their frat phase.

I was very disappointed with the food here. The roof is pretty, and there’s live music, but at the end of the day, it’s still a restaurant. We ordered the calamari, which was served with no salt at all. The Greek salad was bland and lacked seasoning and design. The spanakopita was okay, but the paidakia was just greasy and tasted like fat! Would never go or recommend this place again

Found the steak souvlaki was extremely chewy so sent it back and they removed it from the bill. Service was hit and miss (though we had two friendly servers waiting on us) as we waited a good 15 min to order dessert, thankfully we had nowhere to be. The window was wide open which was very chilly (only 13 degrees outside) so had to wear my scarf and coat throughout dinner which was disappointing. They did offer to turn up the heat but it didn't make a difference that I could tell until much later when they closed the window (I think). Music was by bumped up way too loud as the lights dimmed down around 8:15-8:30 pm it made it hard to hear conversation and my friend and I were sitting close. Between the chatter of the guests and the music, it was pretty darn loud. The place is cute and prices reasonable and servers genuinely interested in being helpful with suggestions but a bit inconsistent with service timing and they do need to work on the ambiance (music level) and temp control. Also they don't serve tea, which I found odd. It's easy to store a wide variety of tea and while the offer of hot water and lemon was made it is definitely not the same.

We had a wonderful experience dining in the restaurant. The food was flavorful, staff were very accommodating and attentive! Highly recommended!
