Great food and service. Our table was attended by the server and assistant server, hostess and chef. All making sure we had everything we needed. Would like to go back and sit outside next time.

Chef and Laurie run arguably the best dining experience in Springfield!
I’ve had most everything on the menu at one point or another and with every visit the food is totally on point, prepared perfectly and in ideal proportions.
Stop in for drinks and small plates or a full multi-course meal, either way you won’t be disappointed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were in town for two nights and the innkeeper at the Inn at 835 recommended Loukinens' on 4th to us. We go out to upscale restaurants several times a week and every night while traveling. We almost always order an appetizer, a salad, an entree, a bottle of wine and a dessert; this night was no exception. We do it not because we're cheap but because it's plenty to eat. But we were shocked by the $18 split fee. We have never seen anything that excessive. If it was listed on the menu, we did not see it and the server failed to mention it. We actually did not need the kitchen to split the entree nor did we need an extra helping of the way too generous size of the greasy, overly cheesy potatoes au gratin or an extra serving of the steak sauce that we really didn't want in the first place. And neither of us even finished our share of the poor quality filet which was cut horizontally (yuck). On the other hand, the wine list was very reasonably priced. I would suggest you raise the prices of your wine and spirits and reduce or eliminate your split fee. It was a real turn-off! The server was terrific despite her not mentioning anything about the excessive split fee. Also nice was that the chef came around and greeted each table.

This was probably my sixth trip to Loukinen's. I was meeting a friend who had never dined here. We were both happy with the quiet corner where we were seated. Our server was polite and did not rush us. The meals were excellent and well presented. Chef Loukinen came out to check on us, as he has done on every one of my previous visits. Very special touch. Keep up the good work!

Nothing really special, unfortunately. The bread was meh with the exception of the homemade crackers which were excellent; the winelist was interesting but a bit pricey; the food itself was really just OK. There are much better places in Springfield.

We went to Loukinen’s for our 30th anniversary dinner. We were seated promptly at a table that was perfect for our needs (needed quiet for a hard-of-hearing partner). Our server, Josh, was polite and knowledgeable of the menu. We had pan-seared sea scallops and the maple duck breast. Both dishes were prepared perfectly and wonderfully presented (not too much fru-fru...just pretty). We had the key line pie and the butterfinger creme brûlée for desert...oh, they were sooooo good!
During our time there, the chef came out and visited with each table. It was nice to meet him and talk about his experience, and the food.
We have already recommended Loukinens to other Springfield residents, and even posted on Facebook to friends.
5 stars. Well deserved!

We were here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I have been here before and had a wonderful experience. This time, however, there was a table of people that worked at the capitol that were being very obnoxious. One guy was very loud and said motherfu$&er every other minute. This really had an impact on my wife’s first impression and experience. I even said something to the waiter but nothing was done about it. The food was excellent, and they acknowledged my wife’s birthday multiple times. Sadly, I’m disappointed that her first impression was unfair to the staff of the restaurant because of some jerks that work at the capitol. We will come back again. Just try to find a quiet corner of the restaurant. You’re paying a lot of money and should expect a fine dining experience.

Fantastic restaurant!!! It has been a long time since we have been out to dinner where everything was exceptional. I cannot wait to go back. The cauliflower appetizer is an absolute must. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was absolutely delicious. The setting was very nice looking at the governor's mansion. The restaurant was super clean and service was top notch. It's not a very big restaurant so if you plan on going on a busy night (friday or staruday) I would suggest reservations to be safe.

Service was awesome, food was great and the selection of wine was exquisite. We were given ample wine tastings until we were satisfied. I was visiting and this place was recommended to me. I will return. The chefs specials were "spot on " Even the chef came out to check on us. The location and parking was very accessible.

It was nice. Took my honey there for his birthday. Food was really good - cauliflower appetizer was outstanding., The chef came to our table to speak to us - nice touch. Floor to ceiling windows gave us a nice view of the governor's mansion. Ambiance was adequate- would have been better if a table by the window was available. Pricing is what you'd expect for an upscale experience. A retun visit is probable.

This is our fourth visit to Loukinens' and, as always, the ambience and service was first rate. My wife and I shared the Manchurian cauliflower appetizer and the Raspberry Champagne Salad; both were delicious. She ordered a steak done medium well and to the Chef's credit, it was precisely that and the herbed sauce was the perfect complement (and yes, I did try a bite). My own meal, the evening's special was a slight disappointment, but in all fairness, there was a slight communication problem between myself and the server as to the degree of doneness I desired. As a result the pork had to make a second trip to the kitchen and, no matter how skilled the chef is, twice cooking does not improve meat and while it came back done to the right degree, it was a little tough. But, since my communication was part of the problem, this will not deter us from visiting again in the future and I hope it will not deter others as this is one of the town's better dining experiences.

Love this place! The food is amazing, everything is good and prepared so beautifully! Especially loved the cauliflower appetizer I. The sweet spicy chili sauce and the gourmet grilled cheese and fries are consistently great. Haven’t tried dinner yet but it looks even better than lunch. Service is also great and the view is beautiful looking out at the governors mansion. I love this place. You can’t go wrong

We chose Loukinen’s for a working lunch. They seated us at the “Governor’s Table”, a little out of the hubbub of the dining room but still a nice view of the Governor’s Mansion across the street. The food was excellent and the wait staff attentive. The cauliflower appetizer was delicious; salads were fresh and combined some unique ingredients in a surprising and delightful way. I highly recommend Loukinen’s for any occasion.

I wanted to take my friend out to a nice place. Our friends recommended this place! It was very nice, but hard to remain quiet. It felt I had to literally whisper to make sure I wasn’t interrupting anyone. Wasn’t that easy. The food was great. It was little pricey but very worth it. Only thing I would change is I wish people would have been little louder than they were. Didn’t look like people were talking barley, but service was very nice. Angie our waitress was very pleasant but absent to us. I felt like she wasn’t too happy to wait on us. She didn’t come around very often and only check on us once. We still had great experience though. Definitely recommend this place for their food!

Friday night date with my wife. We were seated right away and greeted by our waiter. My wife had a blood red orange cosmo that she loved. Nice wine selections, but limited. The duck breast with blackberry sautéed spinach with sweet potato hash was creatively presented, cooked perfectly and delicious. The lobster bisque and shrimp and crab appetizer were also excellent. The ambience is modern and quite comfortable. All in all a place we will return.
