Food and service were amazing. Enjoyed the chef coming out to check in with guests. Would definitely return!
Overall we had a very nice time here. We were celebrating my daughter’s belated 21st birthday and had to be in Springfield on other business. Service was very good, attentive and friendly with a couple of minor misses (e.g., our waiter forgot to bring a glass of wine I ordered, then when he eventually remembered, said it was “on him” but them subsequently forgot to take it off the bill). The chef and also the owner/manager both stopped by our table at different times to see how we were enjoying our meal. It was clear they cared a lot about running a good operation. Overall the food was great. Appetizers, soup and most of the entrees were fantastic. My steak was just average, especially given the big steak house price. But in total, it was a good meal with good service in a pleasant atmosphere so we’d definitely try it again.
Birthday dinner. Calamari was very good. The sauce really made it. We all chose the pork chop- great choice. I could only eat half of it! It was perfectly prepared-Tender and juicy. I had the shiitake Madeira sauce on the side with crispy rosemary Parmesan fries. Desserts were very good too-key lime pie and caramel bacon cheesecake.
Everthing was very good. The service was on point- friendly but not intrusive. Try this place. You will like it!
Quality of food is superior. Had a great food and drink service representative this time around which made for a perfect night. Girlfriend's bday and they provided her with a complimentary dessert.
This is my 5th or 6th tripto Loukinens' and always exceeds expectations.
The food was wonderful. From the cauliflower appetizer to the ice cream trio for dessert! Our server was knowledgeable and engaging! Will definitely be back!
Excellent service; wonderful food, and a nice and quiet dining experience; for a change. Highly recommended for fine dining in Springfield, IL.
This was one of the most pleasurable, delicious and enjoyable dinner experiences I’ve had in a long time. It was a beautiful evening and we sat outside on the patio. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very pleasant young woman who was professional and friendly. Everyone of the wait staff were exceptional...just the right kind of attention. Not overbearing at all but very attentive. Our server was Angie and she was fantastic. She was informative and helpful to us as we ordered. Throughout the evening she checked on us regularly and was really pleasant. The chef came out and met us and actually helped us with tips about the entrees we were considering. All of the food was excellent and special but we had a few favorites on the night. First, you must try the “crunchy” cauliflower as an appetizer...the best I’ve ever tasted. My wife had the French Onion soup and she said it was the best she’d tasted in 35 years. She had the Filet with Truffle sauce and I had the lamb chops. Everything was locally sourced and well presented. I give the restaurant, the management, the chef and the wait staff the highest marks. Do yourself a favor and try this place out soon. A+++
Excellent that I got the chance to request a quiet corner for business discussion and the request was handled. Just perfect for the meeting I needed to have
This place is amazing! We had such a wonderful time. The staff is incredible, the menu nice variety of options, and the food quality and taste was phenomenal,...just phenomenal. Already looking for another reason to get back there as soon as possible.
Many dishes tend toward spicey .
Would prefer more emphasis on the entree itself .
Tera our server was terrific. She was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I have filet and my husband had lamb. Both were excellent. The locally made chocolate cake was to die for, moist and flavorful.
We were there to celebrate our 50th anniversary, and were very pleased with the overall experience. The staff, from the greeter to assistant waiter to the waitress were very accommodating. The food was very good, and when we ordered a dessert to share and they knew it was our anniversary, they gave it us as a complimentary gift. Would go back again if we are in Springfield.
The husband/wife owned restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food was delicious. The manager was very attentive.
We were celebrating our anniversary. The staff could not have been more attentive. As usual, the crab cake bites, filets and dessert were fabulous. We had a truly enjoyable evening. Angie, our server, was great.
Fantastic appetizers and dinners with superb service from the waiter with excellent descriptions of the choices as well as the sommelier who had a good selection of wines to pair. It was expensive but worth every dollar. We will be back very soon and we highly recommend it.
Cauliflower appetizer delicious - you need to try it. We had steak and scallops both perfect. Dessert was delicious. Risotto was a little thicker than I prefer, but good flavor. Service was excellent.
Everything about the evening was impeccable. Food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. Chef's specials are just that - Special! You will not be disappointed.
We dined at Loukinens to celebrate our anniversary. The steaks were delicious with the added crab and bacon coating. They offer a nice assortment of breads and the the soup and salad were also very good. Save room for dessert as the s’mores creme brûlée was delicious.
Fabulous food. The dining area could be a bit more sophisticated. But the food is certainly worth the visit.
The food was perfectly prepared and attractively plated. The service was a bit slow but courteous and attentive. The chef visited our table which is a welcome touch. One of our party has some physical difficulty, and the hostess had pillows for her back. We plan to return.
Excellent experience, as usual!
This was our first visit to this restaurant. We were very impressed with all the staff with special regards for Timothy, our server. Although new, his enthusiasm and excellent recommendations made for an outstanding meal. We will return.
Great food. Nice touch that the chef comes around to tables. But service is slow. Arrived at 6:30 and didn’t get finished until 8:45.
Loukinens' on 4th is our favorite restaurant in Springfield. Excellent food , delightful owner and chef.
Great place to eat... the service was so good.. we had a great time... will be going back soon!!
Delicious! Some of the best crab cakes I have ever had! French onion soup was mouth watering. We will be back!!!!
Modern, creative cuisine, very beautifully and artistically presented, in sight of the recently renovated Governor’s Mansion in the capital. Every dish was prettier than the one before and the taste was as delicious as the look. We started with the crab cake bites and the excellent tuna poke crunch. The bi-color chilled vichyssoise was gorgeous and perfect on a hot summer day. The grilled veggie risotto was an excellent vegetarian entree. I noticed wonderful selections served to other diners, and everything looked so beautiful it was amazing, but I don’t eat meat, so can’t review their flavor. I loved the look of a pork & watermelon lollipop and would love to get back to try the fried cauliflower. My only criticism was that the restaurant was a bit brightly lit and bland in its decor, which was kind of surprising considering the artistry of the food.
Excellent salad and the peach bellini I had was fabulous. Mixed drinks are pricey. When first seated, two different waiters (at different times) came and gave us the introduction and specials, etc. Both of them checked in with us again before we told them that another waiter was helping us. Overall, we had two different wait staff visit our table in the first ten minutes, the chef visited our table twice to check in on how we were doing as well as another female. Hostess? owner? manager? Who knows? As two old friends trying to catch up, we found this a bit distracting as well as unnecessary. The food was very good though. I will return and recommend to my friends.
This was an amazing culinary experience! Every detail was perfect! We will definitely return .
The restaurant is so pretty, the service was great, and the food was out of this world good!
I’ve been to restaurants all over the world and remarkably this restaurant in the relatively small town of Springfield IL has some of the best food I’ve ever had and the best service I’ve experienced.
My wife and I dined for our anniversary. The server was wonderful! Food was excellent. An unexpected perk was a free dessert to share for our special occasion.
It was worth every penny!
This was our first time dining here, and I have to say it was outstanding!
Already recommended this restaurant twice after dinner 2 nights ago.
Every bite a food was beautiful. The service was friendly and on point. The chef checked in on us and genuinely wanted to make sure we had a good meal. My only regret is we didn't save room for dessert.
Shrimp and lump crab appetizer was so yummy. I would have licked the sauce off the plate. Lobster bisque was perfection. I did scrape the bowl. Scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The other diner with me had the red snapper which looked beautiful. Another had a filet that I never would have finished as it was so large!
Wine and cocktail selection was varied and offered better options than you often see.
Even the bathroom was lovely and filled with extra amenities.
Thanks for a great dining experience.
By far the best food we have had in Springfield. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and was spot on with his recommendations. The jalapeno margarita was amazing and key lime pie was out of this world.
Will definitely be coming back. The food was totally worth the prices.
Great food and service. Our table was attended by the server and assistant server, hostess and chef. All making sure we had everything we needed. Would like to go back and sit outside next time.
Chef and Laurie run arguably the best dining experience in Springfield!
I’ve had most everything on the menu at one point or another and with every visit the food is totally on point, prepared perfectly and in ideal proportions.
Stop in for drinks and small plates or a full multi-course meal, either way you won’t be disappointed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Date night with my wife. Excellent service, food and drinks. Expensive but worth it.
Great place for anniversary dinner! Superb culinary experience. Excellent attention by staff, from greeter to waiter to chef/owner. We’ve not been disappointed since they opened! ~JR
