Simply put — we’re connoisseurs of the really good stuff. Because isn’t that what life is all about? Who knows what tomorrow will bring but today, we eat.
Wait staff was very rude. They did not want to answer questions and acted very snobby.
Hello Lauren, We are so sorry that your visit was not exquisite! We are very interested in speaking with you. This does not sound like our usual experience, and we would love the chance to make it up to you. Could we connect privately?
The server was very slow at refilling our water. We had to ask him. When I asked, he brought water a few minutes later and ONLY refilled mine even though my friend’s glass was half empty. He also came by multiple times trying to clear our plates even though we were not finished.
Dear Foodie4Life, this sounds like a less than exquisite experience at LOUIX LOUIS! Can we connect and get to the root of the issue? We strive to deliver prompt and accurate service with an elegant, yet friendly approach. Could we connect in private? It would be our pleasure to make this up to you.
We were greeted pleasantly at the entrance, checked our coats and were seated promptly. Our waitress was friendly and professional, her service was impeccable. She’d noticed from our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and gave us a couple glasses of sparkling wine after dinner to congratulate us. The room is beautiful, feels like you’re sitting in a movie set. The food was exceptional, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would definitely recommend this place to any and everyone.
Dear Bella, we are so grateful for your kind words and generous feedback. We strive to deliver an exquisite experience for our guests. Reviews like yours are promptly shared with the team, and everyone appreciates them. We hope to look after you soon!
Menu in the restaurant did not reflect what was posted online.
Staff was attentive, however not very personable.
Went for our Anniversary and was not disappointed. The food and service was fantastic.
A Perfect venue for my birthday celebration, especially to complete a wonderful lunch with the delicious Kings cake. We were a party of 4 and everyone enjoyed every aspect of our time there.
Sarah was our lovely waitress and was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was outstanding and the restaurant gorgeous. The food was very good but extremely expensive. You couldn’t go just for dinner and feel full. For two people we spent $360 on two apps, two cocktails, two mains, one dessert and one coffee.
I was excited to try Louix Louis after seeing pictures of the gorgeous interiors online. We were going for after work snacks, dessert, and drinks. I'm the type to look up menus ahead of time, so I was prepared for it to be bit more of a pricey evening, no worries there, but I really expected better service for the price. We sat with empty glasses, waiting to order our bar bites for a long while, actively trying to catch the attention of our server to come take our order, then again after we'd finished and were hoping to order another round, and then again when we needed our bill. Had it been busy or seemed short staffed, I'd have better understood the waits, but it felt like we were just being ignored as neither of these were the case.
The bar bites were delicious, especially enjoyed the truffle arancini, though I would expect a slightly more generous serving given the price. I know truffle comes with a hefty price tag, but these were truly three tiny bites on a plate.
The king cake is the showstopper, gigantic and decadent. A bit drier than it could have been, but still a nice treat.
Overall wouldn't return.
Hello YumToronto! and thank you for your feedback! We cannot improve our services without it.. Your experience sounds less than exquisite and we want a chance to change that. Could we speak off line? We can have our Restaurant General Manager invite you back.
Not worth the money or time. Too many restaurants in toronto to waste your meal here
Dear Peter, Thank you for sharing this feedback. Could we speak further and discuss in private? We would be wasting an opportunity if we didn't listen to your opinion. We want to do better.
Service was impeccable. The restaurant is beautiful with great ambience. We had scallops as a starter and it was delicious. Also, we tried Oyster Rockefeller which can be less salty. Overall, it was a very good dining experience .
Great atmosphere great service great drinks! Only had desert which was okay other than that everything else was great.
The staff treated us like royalty and the atmosphere was incredible. The food was amazing, my girlfriend and I shared the Royal Brunch and every bite was delicious. What a beautiful space too, a real hidden gem, albeit a higher end one, in downtown Toronto.
When making this and all my reservations, I am highly specific about the table I would like. The restaurant did not accommodate claiming it had been reserved. I brought the hostess' attention to the fact that I had made the reservation well in advance.
At the end of our dinner, the purported individuals with the table we preferred did not show up and the table remained empty throughout our dinner. I brought this to the attention of the hostess at the end of our dinner and it was dismissed as nothing could be done with a disingenuous apology.
In addition, other tables by the windows which were more desirable than ours were not used either.
Last New Year, Jan 1 2019, we again had specified a dinner with the purchase of tickets for the 'New Year's 'Gala' Evening', We were placed beside the waitresses beverage pick up bar location which again we specified was not desirable.
It appears that this restaurant has a high degree of prejudice and dismal customer service, just simply appalling.
Thank you for your valuable feedback, and we apologize for this less than exquisite experience! We would love an opportunity to make this right and to invite you back to LOUIX LOUIS. Our Restaurant General Manager will be reaching out via a private massage.
Very basic duck, wine outrageously priced, extremely noisy.
Restaurant inside St. Regis hotel..we tried to call the restaurant many times to let them know we would be later, but it went straight the vm. We even tried calling the hotel, not working either. Not enough servers and they were not attentive..waited for a long time before our server come and greet us. Asking for cream for our coffee twice before it got to us. Was told the parking could be validated with $10 off but it was only $5 when we get out from valet parking..inconsistent information.
Other than the huge king cake. The food is below average, service is okay. Wine list is way overpriced. Wouldn’t go back.
If you're in the mood for a well-crafted cocktail or delicious food Louix Louis has got you covered. The oysters were a perfect start to the evening. Apps were the highlight of the night. We had the scallops after reading reviews about them and we were not disappointed. My wife got the steak tartar and all I can say about the dish is WOW. The mains were very good as well. Our waiter Cameron has to be in the top 3 servers we have ever had at any restaurant. He was funny, attentive and honest about our selections along with giving us his own recommendations(steak tartar). He made the night out that much better. Thank you again Cameron!!
I love the food and cocktails, Service is wonderful.
I like hanging out with friends and clients there.
The valet parking is $15 until 6pm, and is very convenient.
The atmosphere is good as well.
I like their gold interior design.
My wife and I had an unbelievable experience celebrating our 2nd year wedding anniversary with Louix Louis. The staff did everything they could to enhance our experience, and the food was scrumptious.
The smoked scallops are a must, along with the truffle mac and cheese. The truffle chicken is also worth it.
Obviously we finished the meal with the King's cake, a proper way to cap off an epic celebration. We would definitely go back!
Visited during holiday in Toronto. Lovely experience. Food was delicious and our server really looked after us. Gorgeous restaurant with the King's Cake being the ultimate dessert. Would recommend.
My husband and I were in Toronto to see a concert. We stayed at the St. Regis and dined here our first night in town. Excellent everything.
Our server was remarkable and the food was delicious! We definitely plan to come back soon.
Beautiful ambient. Great service. Starters were amazing and we could not wait for mains, but that is where it failed a bit since mains were not as good. Overall, must see and try place in Toronto.
Overall very nice
The service and atmosphere were outstanding. The appetizers were very good, but the main courses were nothing special. The wine we ordered was not the best. Would recommend only for drinks and appetizers, and their 13 layer cake/coffee. Would skip the main course altogether next time. Value for money, not worth it, in our opinion.
Service was very poor. We were left for long periods of time with no service. Food was nothing special given the very steep prices. In fact everything had a distinct flavour, like maybe the oil used was of poor quality. I was thoroughly disappointed. Not worth the $400 spent for 3 ppl. We expected much much better for the caliber of restaurant this claims to be. The décor is the only saving grace of this place. Cocktails sound good but were terrible. Scallops were good. Octopus good but overly charred. Beef rib looked great but tasted meh. Dover sole ($85) deboned tableside was nothing special. The 13 layer kings cake was pretty to look at but lacked flavour. Presentation of food was great, but that's about it. Overall, very disappointed with my experience here. We came here to celebrate a birthday. Will definitely not be returning. The three of us felt gross after our meal here. Not worth the money. We all don't mind spending the money if the food is exceptional. This is definitely not one of those places.
Goog environment 5/5
The food is not tasty 2/5
If u go there for a drink it will be nice but dinner or high tea I won’t recommend this place
Great ambiance for business lunch. Food courses are well paced.
This is kind of the very first time I rate an restaurant in OpenTable. LOUIX Louis is the best. The best service and the best food. Me and my husband spent an very nice Sunday night there. Thanks you so much LOUIX!
Third time here but first time for brunch- very fancy and beautiful, but for the price, I would expect great service. We were ignored and left alone for long periods of time with no drinks, no water, no cutlery.. no one took away our first course plates until after the second course came. It was disappointing. Also, we arrived at 215 and ordered the bottomless mimosas, and weren’t told that it ends at 3 pm, until 3 pm rolled around and we were cut off. Our waiter really should have told us that in advance. Definitely needed to have better waitstaff.
Celebrated a friends birthday with brunch and it was wonderful!
We went to Louix Louis for my husband's birthday and it definitely didn't disappoint. The food was scrumptious, staff was courteous and the decor was beautiful. Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, especially the crème brûlée. Perfect for a one-of-a-kind celebration.
We had a lovely breakfast on the 31st floor.
Beautiful aesthetic. Great food. Staff very accommodating. Highly recommend.
Victoria was great, whole team is welcoming. Amazing 13-layer cake, drinks can be stronger.
Great food, but very loud, making it difficult to converse.
Loud, otherwise everything was good. Experience was positive.
Very specific server
