Long before the farm-to-table trend invaded America, Louisa’s espoused this philosophy, and served food to match. The tiny-but-iconic eatery was established in 1980 and has been dishing out incredibly fresh and delicious food in the small historic yellow building ever since. The menu is all regional fare — fish caught from the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay, plus vegetables, fruits, herbs (and beautiful fresh flowers) from West Cape May’s Beach Plum Farm, augmented by produce from other New Jersey farms.

The kitchen philosophy is to cook simple, expertly seasoned dishes that are lovingly prepared and made from fresh, first-rate ingredients. The menu changes often but the one constant you’ll find here is the dedication to a great dining experience.

We love Louisa's! A must-visit every year! The local flounder was outstanding, the specials were fabulous, and our waiter, Luke was the best!! A lovely evening dining al fresco!

Our dining experience was marred by subpar food, despite the restaurant's cozy atmosphere and versatile seating options. The bread was stale, the water was warm, and ice was not provided. Furthermore, the main dish arrived with cold brown rice and flavorless slaw, although the crab cakes and tartar sauce were notable exceptions. If you wish to leave your wallet at the register don’t book your dinning experience at this farm to fresh restaurant. As the cost of $50 dollars per person is not a greatest value per family. 😕😕 The Key Lime 🍋‍🟩 pie was the only thing which we enjoyed. Even though it was a very thin slice which didn’t even resemble the picture on their website.

If you are tired of the calories and are looking for the freshest fish on the island, simply cooked with basic, healthy sides and choice of dipping sauce at a fair price, definitely come to Louisa's. I eat here at least once a week to have a honestly great quality meal and to give myself a break from all of the high calorie, but also very delicious, food choices in Cape May. Sometimes you just feel like a fresh piece of fish, a crab cake (and you get 3-4 f them here) or scallops that are simply prepared and where the seafood stands out. This is the place for that! Service is helpful and extremely friendly. The vibe is café and everyone chats it up with their seated neighbors. It is BYOB. There is also a lovely outdoor seating area. And the desserts and starters are all very fresh and made on site. Right now they have a strawberry - rhubarb crisp served warm with vanilla ice cream, and it is the bomb! Definite sharable for 2. I look forward to going back!!!

The seafood is always fresh. We enjoyed a generous portion of delicious scallops, and nicely blackened bluefish. The Caesar salad was yummy too. Can’t go wrong here!

Great food ,but It’s was very slow to come out. The apps came out very quickly and then were very good. Then we waited an hour for our dinner.
