We went to Louis to celebrate a couple of belated birthdays. Our reservation was ready for us, and the atmosphere was beautiful. Our servers were delightful. The food was excellent and we were amazed by the large portions. Everyone in our group of 5 loved their meal. Wine was very affordable!
Great Italian food! Perfect location.
Excellent as always!
We were seated at a back table by the patio door. They were setting up for St. Patricks Day and kept opening the door to the outside and we would get a rush of cold air everything. Not great.
pre concert dinner and drinks. was a bit disappointed with the hostess and the welcoming. our server left our dirty dishes on our table while we finished our bottle of wine for over 30 minutes.
We enjoyed our meal very much. I was a bit disconcerted when we arrived at 6:30 PM, the noise level was VERY LOUD!!! There was a concert at XCel that night and I think that many of the diners and people at the bar were excited and all talked very loud. We could not hear each other talk across our table. That is a problem, in my book. However, after about an hour, most of those people had left and then it was very pleasant. The food was very good and the service was excellent.
Loved the convenience of a valet. Food was good and good selection. I would have liked to have tried one of the veal entrees but were pricey. My pasta was very good
elegant and a bit pricey...but excellent food..authentic Italian
Food was very good, but extremely rich. Left feeling like we needed to walk home.
Service was great, food delicious as always
Massive portions of food but very expensive. Not a great value and not many menu options for pasta.
Pretty expensive spaghetti
I have been at this great restaurant - five times and look forward to going again!
Food is authentic, delicious and such a
Impressive selection. It was a perfect
evening w friends.
We have eaten here several times when we attend the boys hockey tournament Love being able to make reservations. A seat companion highly recommended the Cioppino Caruso. He said it was the best meal he has ever eaten and they are St. Paul natives. Well I ordered it even though it was the most expensive item on the menu. One word! Amazing!!!!! What I didn't eat , my husband licked clean and announced that he was ordering it next year! I don't know if we can wait a whole year, we may have to run up there this summer.
a seafood stew with a flavorful tomato/seafood broth with lobster, shrimp, squid, scallops and cod. served with cheese crostini.
There were 6 of us and service was great and everyone loved what they ordered. They have a great gluten free menu that our friend appreciates!
Went for business dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed it - absolutely delicious and great service.
Great gluten free options, good food and service was amazing!
As always, great service, good drinks and wonderful food. Perfect for before an event at Excel.
Perfect for pre-Wild game eats, especially on the company card! Spendy, but worth it.
Always love the food and beverages at Louis. It’s a beautiful restaurant, I love the decor and feel. Although it is sometimes hard to enjoy myself because it is so loud. Every time I ask for a booth, or a place in a corner or not next to the kitchen like I was once, my request is never fulfilled. Guess I have to book my reservations sooner. Overall, this is one of our favorite places.
We went there for a group of friend occasion with my date and I. The service was quite slow. We ordered around 12:45 and we didn't get the bill until about 2 pm. This was an issue since my date and I had an event to attend shortly thereafter. So if you we were to go again, we'd have to leave 3 hours room to have the meal and go to our next event.
Louis is my go to Italian Restaurant. It's is simply the best. Whether you want spaghetti and meatballs or some thing more special this is the place to get it. Consistently 5 stars. Never below.
I Had reservations for 4:45; met 2 friends, by about 5:15 we couldn’t hear each other and it got worse. We would definitely not go back on a wild night.
From a value, for 15.00 I had a small bowl of penne with a little crushed tomato sauce, disappointed with the entire experience to say the least.
It was amazing food. Beautiful place. The waiter was good. Will be back several times more.
Excelent. Realy good food
We were seated right away. The service was good. We ordered the clams with white wine sauce and the dish came out in a tomato sauce. My husband had the seafood special which was really good. I ordered the cioppino and again, the seafood was cooked nicely but I was not able to eat the broth because it tasted like an entire box of salt was dropped in it. We ordered coffee to finish our evening and my husband wanted the grappa along with his coffee and the waiter came back to let us know they were out. It's a mixed review ... we "might" try the restaurant again, but it will be a while.
Classy, delicious, and EXPENSIVE. $225 before tip for 4 adults to have dinner and drinks. I was startled when we got the check.
All around great experience
The service was good and attentive. The meatballs and sauce were very good. We both had lasagne, it was awful! It was a giant piece of over cooked, mushy pasta and a bland lasagne. The lasagne was smothered with an awful sauce that was brownish colored with some kind of chunky over cooked meat. It honestly looked like someone got sick on our plates. The lasagne was $18.00 and came with nothing, no salad. We were brought this decent size basket with four tiny pieces of French bread. We could barely find the bread in the basket. We also had dessert which was average. VERY disappointing!
It was a hockey night so it was initially very loud. We thought the table service might improve after the crowd exited, but it did not. Maybe it was the one individual tending our table that made it seemed strained rather than comfortable.
Wow! I cannot say enough amazing things about Luci Ancora. Alfredo has created not just a restaurant but a second home. The service, ambiance, food, understated elegance and overall experience are second to none. The fettuccine funghi and gnocchi cannot be missed. The sorbetto and chocolate torte are divine but really they can do no wrong. This is hands down the best Italian food in the Twin Cities.
Their filet was amazing and all of their food was incredible! Would definitely eat there again!
The staff was very attentive and the food was excellent. Will definitely go back.
Food was not worth the high price tag. Big portions, but not very good. Service was adequate, bar selection is wide. Come with deep pockets and fairly shallow expectations.
As always, wonderful food and service.
First time at Louis and we all loved it. Staff was amazing, responsive and accommodating. All four of us really enjoyed our food and will return. Price was fair and the Tomahawk steak was amazing!!!
We had an amazing evening before the Minnesota Wild game we ate at 4 thinking it may be longer of a wait but food was fast services were amazing gluten free menu was awesome! We had a wonderful dinner
Dinner was delicious and satisfying! For an appetizer we enjoyed the Fritto Misto. My dinner was the Cioppino Caruso, which I go there specifically for. Lately it's been a bit salty but this evening it was perfect. My husband had the Chicken Parmigiana, which he said was good. Manny's Steakhouse is usually my 1st choice... Louis's is great when I do not feel like going into Minneapolis. Service is always absolutely terrific! The management and the table assistants are always friendly, accessible, and helpful! I never leave Louis's disappointed. Thank you! 😍
Not your typical just pasta Italian restaurant - a variety of choices. Nice wine list, good service, not rushed.
Serving staff was professional, friendly, and competent ensuring our business meal with guests from China was a spectacular experience.
