Louis Ratings and Reviews
Wow! First time visit. There were 4 of us for a 5:15 reservation on a Sat. ONLY disappointment was that there was no happy hour that night as there was an event at the Excel Center. The parking was free, atmosphere was cozy and the outdoor patio was decked in holiday lighting. We eat out often and all were impressed with our food and service. We had the chicken marsala, brick chicken, and special cod with vegetables and cream sauce (which was melt-in-your-mouth yummy). We also ordered the special endive salad. The servings are generous and they split our salads in the kitchen. This is a perfect stop after a matinee at the theater. Fun browsing the bakery and marketplace below.
We came here after a " Family Girls Night Out" and a play at the Ordway. It was recommended by a friend and we loved it. There were five in our party and the food was outstanding, the staff extremely friendly w/o being intrusive.it was perfect. My sister mom and nieces have decide d to make Louis our tradition after a play moving forward. It was wonderful!
We ate dinner here prior to the Thomas Rhett concert. The salad and dinner were great. I could have passed on the bruschetta. The Bruschetta was nothing spectacular. Fun restaurant and overall really good food! Great service!! We had a male server and he was excellent!
Enjoyed our dinner but started off poorly when we pulled up to the valet parking, got out of the car and the attendant said they aren’t parking cars (there was an afternoon Wild hockey game) but free meter parking, give me a freaking break!! Thankfully they have a lot that we were able to park in. After that everything was great and we had a wonderful dinner. Would definitely recommend!!!
i don’t often leave reviews, but my Louis experience is worth sharing. having studied in Italy, i was more than excited to see the authentic menu. the service, from beginning to end, was great. the staff brought out an on-the-house appetizer, complementary bread & oil, & our meals arrived surprisingly quick. the prices for both our wine & entrees were reasonably priced. the house-made gnocchi was spot-on. Christmas lights on the outdoor deck made it feel like home. highly recommend!
The food is pretty uninspired. The gnocchi was drowning in butter. I also do not understand why they were so skimpy with the bread. Literally 3 pieces in the basket-they looked like lost parts of brushcetta. It was just odd. The atmosphere is great-it was too cold to go outside but the patio looks fantastic. Don’t understand what all the fuss is about Louis.
We had a terrific time celebrating our son's birthday with our family last Saturday night. The food was amazing and the wine was great, along with wonderful service, I would highly recommend Louis to anyone looking for a great meal and a great atmosphere. We had been to Italy recently, so the bar for the food was high, and Louis did not disappoint. I would recommend a later reservation on a night when the Wild play. It was quite noisy when we got there at 6:15, but quieted down significantly once the Wild crowd headed off to the game.
A Great place to catch up with a friend. The bartender (Britney) was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt with her service, our server (Mitchell) was Johnny in the spot with great menu suggestions, and prompt service. The meal was prepared to perfection. My Halibut was very tasty and my friends Lazagna was great. Thanks for a great night! I'll be back.
Great location for a pre-event dinner, with valet parking that makes it really easy when there's an event at Xcel. I like the ambiance of the restaurant and the variety of menu choices. My selections were all good very salty -- and I love salt, but it was a bit too salty even for me. I'll be back, but I'll make more discerning food choices.
Great atmosphere but underwhelming food. I’m a BIG fan of Cossetta’s (on the main floor), but Louis’ food was, at best, only of equal quality, which is quite remarkable when you consider the price difference between Cossetta’s and Louis. If I come back, it will only be to take in the atmosphere from the restaurant’s inviting bar.
We were seated in the room below the main seating area. The sound was so loud from the two tables it wasn't even pleasant to carry on a conversation. We recommend install some sound absorbing tiles on the ceiling. When we return we will request to not be seated down there again. This in no way will stop us from coming to your restaurant. We love everything about Cosetta's. We have been coming there since 1996.
But love your food and service.
It was a little disappointing the overall experience.
