Louis Ratings and Reviews
i don’t often leave reviews, but my Louis experience is worth sharing. having studied in Italy, i was more than excited to see the authentic menu. the service, from beginning to end, was great. the staff brought out an on-the-house appetizer, complementary bread & oil, & our meals arrived surprisingly quick. the prices for both our wine & entrees were reasonably priced. the house-made gnocchi was spot-on. Christmas lights on the outdoor deck made it feel like home. highly recommend!
The food is pretty uninspired. The gnocchi was drowning in butter. I also do not understand why they were so skimpy with the bread. Literally 3 pieces in the basket-they looked like lost parts of brushcetta. It was just odd. The atmosphere is great-it was too cold to go outside but the patio looks fantastic. Don’t understand what all the fuss is about Louis.
We had a terrific time celebrating our son's birthday with our family last Saturday night. The food was amazing and the wine was great, along with wonderful service, I would highly recommend Louis to anyone looking for a great meal and a great atmosphere. We had been to Italy recently, so the bar for the food was high, and Louis did not disappoint. I would recommend a later reservation on a night when the Wild play. It was quite noisy when we got there at 6:15, but quieted down significantly once the Wild crowd headed off to the game.
A Great place to catch up with a friend. The bartender (Britney) was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt with her service, our server (Mitchell) was Johnny in the spot with great menu suggestions, and prompt service. The meal was prepared to perfection. My Halibut was very tasty and my friends Lazagna was great. Thanks for a great night! I'll be back.
Great location for a pre-event dinner, with valet parking that makes it really easy when there's an event at Xcel. I like the ambiance of the restaurant and the variety of menu choices. My selections were all good very salty -- and I love salt, but it was a bit too salty even for me. I'll be back, but I'll make more discerning food choices.
Great atmosphere but underwhelming food. I’m a BIG fan of Cossetta’s (on the main floor), but Louis’ food was, at best, only of equal quality, which is quite remarkable when you consider the price difference between Cossetta’s and Louis. If I come back, it will only be to take in the atmosphere from the restaurant’s inviting bar.
We were seated in the room below the main seating area. The sound was so loud from the two tables it wasn't even pleasant to carry on a conversation. We recommend install some sound absorbing tiles on the ceiling. When we return we will request to not be seated down there again. This in no way will stop us from coming to your restaurant. We love everything about Cosetta's. We have been coming there since 1996.
But love your food and service.
It was a little disappointing the overall experience.

This is always my favorite place to go with my husband. Especially when we need a nice romantic dinner. We have had a memorable time every time we've been here, I would just make sure you don't go early on a night that the excel energy center is having a concert. It can be pretty loud.
Had friends in town from Chicago and wanted to show them a local place rather than a chain. It was so noisy inside we asked for a table on the roof. What we didn't know is that there are separate menus for dining inside and dining outside, that was disappointing. The food outside was expensive bar food, nothing remarkable about it. You'd think an Italian place would have decent bread for the $17 beef tenderloin sandwich, not the case.
What I will rave about is Nickie, our server. She was a blast, smart, quick, adorable. She saved the evening. Give that girl a raise!
Read all the great reviews but our experience didn't quite make the mark! I ordered chicken under a brick( which should be very moist), it was bone dry so I sent it back. The server said the lasagna could come out quickly. It did, but was super salty as was my husbands pasta sauce. Mayb the chef was just a little heavy handed that day!
Had an awesome experience. Started on the rooftop for h'dve and drinks, had dinner inside because it got pretty windy outside. Great meals and all four of us loved our food and service. Two of us had wine and liked the picks. Upscale prices but worth every penny. We'll be back for sure!
