Louis Ratings and Reviews
We have been to Louis many times and would give 5s to everything, but this time the bread came at the end of the meal, the main meal came while we were eating our appetizers, and it was so noisy we couldn’t hear each other (there were only 4 of us). The food was great as always and the server did the best she could.
Food was good however I was very disappointed that they would not allow ANY substitutions to my meal. I had a surf and turf, filet and lobster for $50, and they would not let me substitute anything for the potatoes and Asparagus. I have diabetes and can't have carbs, and detest Asparagus. So I was forced to have them just leave the side dishes off and just get the steak and Lobster, and nothing else for the same price. I think a place like this that is getting a premium price should be more customer oriented, rather than conveying a take it or leave it attitude. We have been customers of Cossettas for more than 40 years, so it's very disappointing tat this is their attitude in their restaurant.
We had a fantastic meal at Louis! Everything we tried was really wonderful. I had the beet salad and the butternut squash ravioli, my husband had the caprese salad and the lobster fra diavolo. He stopped every two bites to say "this is amazing". We will certainly be back and are excited to have a new favorite restaurant!
Let me start by saying I’ve never written a review before but this experience was unbelievable! There was no heat in the room. We ate an expensive meal in our winter coats! Yes, our winter coats, hats, scarves, everything. The entire section of the restaurant was dress like us. It was warmer at the ice rink! Management ignored us. I ask three different people for help, each one would just say, “I’ll be back.” Yet they never returned. No “Sorry about this, or let me reduce your bill.” Absolutely nothing. Except slower service. It took 30 minutes to get a drink! Now if you’ve got a problem you should acknowledge it in some way. Not run away and leave the server on the hook to deal with a room full of freezing patrons!
It was a great way to celebrate Christmas Eve. But we were kind of tucked back in a side room that really didn’t have any of the decor or liveliness of the main room. And I think because it was the last or next to last reservation spot, the wait staff seemed rushed and also a bit less attentive (understandably so, but still noticeable).
I ordered the Veal Osso Buco which was offered as a special: it was inedible - a crescent of grisly, tough meat. I didn’t (couldn’t) eat any of it, it was that bad. Super disappointing, I’ve eaten at Louis before and love Cossettas - this was so unlike any previous experience.
I didn’t send it back as I didn’t want to spoil the time my friends were having, who enjoyed their meals.
We very much enjoyed our experience at Louis. We started with the Fritto Misto and Sausage Calabrese Style, which were both very tasty. I got the Pollo Florentine, which was a delicious classic. The polenta served with the dish was a great addition. My fiancé got the rigatoni, which were both still talking about days later. We went on a Thursday night—the amibiance and aesthetic were great. I would recommend to anyone.
As always, Louis never disappoints. The food quality is exceptional, and the service is outstanding. Dave Cosetta and his fine staff always present a fantastic meal, well worth the value. We also love the added bonus of being able to valet park and have dinner before the Wild games, and being able to pick our car up after the game.
