It was amazing! Great service.
I ordered the baked halibut special...it had to be one of the best dinners of my life!
Love Louis'...ambiance, service and vibrant downtown location.
Had dinner at Louis right before the Rod stewart concert at Xcel. Surprisingly large selection of entrees and starters. We split the very generous cheese and fruit board for a starter, then had the veal entree as well as a pasta entree. Happy also that we could get Proseco by the glass. Very high energy and a little noisy but super good service!
We had seared duck and lasagna for our 48th anniversary. We were treated to a creme brûlée. Then, we went to the Ringo Starr concert. We also enjoyed visiting the deli store on first floor.
Entrees were very good. Loved the scallop appetizer. Our waiter, Michael, had wonderful timing for our entire meal
Good food, wine, service & ambiance. I will be back.
When Louis opened a few years go, I understood that it was to be an upscale place complementing the casual cafeteria-stye restaurant on the first floor. Apparently this vision didn't work out and it now has several TVs and is more of a casual, noisy sports bar. Menu prices have remained upscale, however, especially entrees. It does have a deck with a great view over the river. We had initially wanted to sit on the deck but were disappointed that the full menu was not available there. We went there because friends had recommended it to us especially for a excellent veal dish. Our waitress was initially confused about our drink order but was attentive after that. Salads were excellent and the best part of the meal. My wife ordered short ribs and enjoyed them very much. I ordered a steak medium rare which came only pink. It also was accompanied by a tomato sauce that I didn't care for but that's just me. Others may like it. We may return there but only to order drinks and appetizers on the deck and enjoy the view.
Louis food never disappoints! We took my parents here when they came to town and they loved it, also. Unfortunately our waitress left much to be desired. She forgot multiple things (to the point of asking my mom what she wanted to order after taking her order 5 minutes prior) and she was fairly careless and spilled water while pouring. Additionally, the pipes were dripping and we were not given any warning. We also had to ask for things like bread and wine refills multiple times.
I was surprised that my short rib enteee had no additional flavor - in fact I had to heavily salt to make it taste better. I expected more from a landmark like Cossettas - our server was very nice, and prompt.
It’s prwtty simple:
- great food
- great service
- great views
- great ambiance
Food was wonderful, service was great. The website says they have glueten free menu, but server told us it was not in print and she would guide us through the menu, which she did.
The only issue we had was there was a large, around 20 people, group next to us and they were very loud. There seemed to be open seating elsewhere, but we were seated right next to them and it was hard to converse.
Never disappoints us.
We come here often. Tonight the service was a little slow...and the manager gave free desserts as a result. Desserts took a little time too then...We will continue to make this a regular place. Food is always good. Staff very courteous. Usually timing is not off like tonight.
Great service. Food was mediocre, especially for price.
A good, “journeyman” Italian dinner; generous portions, well-intentioned but with uninspired results. In general it’s a great choice for large groups and people with children who will feel comfortable in the spacious, attractive and easy-going environment replete with Italian cliches of all sorts. (Think Sinatra.) Service was informal but attentive. You’re on a floor above an amazing emporium of Americanized Italian goodies in the market below, which you can visit before or afterwards. (Recommended - they close before the Restaurant does.) We didn’t expect gourmet and had fun.
Fabulous. One of the few "nice" restaurants left that does not rush you through your meal. We could enjoy each course and anticipate the next one. Lovely.
We love to dine at Louis before an event at Xcel Energy Center. However, this time we felt extremely rushed from the beginning. I know it's important to get food out for those heading out but we had allowed ample time. 5:15 reservation for an 8:00 concert. Server rushed us. In a hurry the server dropped a used fork in my lap; when she poured more water it splashed and spilled onto the table.
Food was way overpriced. I had lasagna, which was only ok. I ordered it several years back and it was much better. They must have changed the recipe, which was very disappointing.
The food was great! Service was great!
First time at Louis and I can't wait to come back! The staff was friendly and very helpful with menu recommendations. There were too many good options to choose from! I ended up getting the Ciopinno and it was phenomenal! The other two people in my party got Lasagna and Chicken Florentine. I would order their choices as well! The outdoor rooftop patio has beautiful views of the Cathedral. Great experience overall! Thank you for a great dinner!
We came to Louis before going to the Mama Mia production and let our server know. She was great at getting our order right away and our food quickly. My seafood dish was good but could of used a bit more seasoning. The main negative was that we were seated under a large air conductor pipe and it was dripping on my friends daughter. The manager was nice to over and offer to move us and didn't make my friend pay for her meal. Obviously due to time we couldn't move and then right before we left, it started to drip on my daughter. A good solution to this is that maybe when the weather causes these pipes to drip, you don't seat anyone under them.
We had not dined at this establishment before but had heard great reviews! We were not disappointed! We will be going back!
11 year anniversary and the waiter Hudson was very accommodating
We truly enjoyed our experience at Louis. Our server was excellent, very attentive. The food arrived hot and delicious. Great location too!
Food was fabulous. Though we were seated under a dripping air vent. They did comp us for the inconvience
Everything was great about this restaurant but the food! Too salty and not real calamari
I brought my mother here for her Birthday, and we have never been before. The service was fabulous, and the food was awesome. We both had a wonderful time.
We love this restaurant but this evening it was very cold. My friend's pasta was very salty but she was given a free dessert which we thought was nice. My rigatoni was excellent with outstanding flavor. We will definitely be back to Louis!
Great food and great service. Great variety of food choices and our waiter did an outstanding job.
Awesome, from start to finish. Great food, great service.
The food was fabulous and the server was superb! However, the AC was very cold. We asked the server if it could be turned down. She said she would check into it. Not sure if it happened. We arrived early and were enjoying a wonderful conversation but as the evening went on and the restaurant became very crowded, it was almost impossible to hear. The acoustics in Louis are not good. We ended up leaving earlier than we planned so we could continue a conversation where we could hear each other.
The portions are far to large. The entrees are large enough to be shared and this was not brought to our attention by the server. The ladies had chicken and each plate had 3 chicken breasts. This should have been addressed by the server while we were ordering. Change the portions or inform your diners.
Sitting close to outdoor patio and doors were open, resulting in flies in restaurant
Food was ok, spaghetti pomodoro kind of bland and desserts out of the fridge. Rest pretty good. Sat inside but right at the patio door where we got a lot of grill fumes every time the door opened. We might come back but Louis is not on the immediate shortlist.
We really enjoyed our meal! It was delicious! The service and atmosphere were great! Thanks for making our birthday celebration special!
A group of us attending a convention came here. having been to Cosetta downstairs a few times, we thought we would try Louis. Many of us felt it was not authentic Italiaan as it was downstairs. We were particularly disappointed in the Caprese....virtually no basil, small pile of cheese and lits of chopped tomatoes. Not much flavor.
Monday evening is a slower time so the noise level was not intrusive though I suspect with the floors, number of tables and high ceilings hearing may be more of a problem other nights. Our server was excellent and attentive without being overly friendly. She knew her stuff and sought out the answers when she didn't. And the servers and bus help certainly have an extra level of work with the steps out to the patio and the heavy doors to that area. They work hard.
The table service was outstanding. The food was great and the selection was large. Enjoyed my 90 th Birthday with family and friends.
Great food, good gluten free options.
