   Stopped by before a Hawkeye basketball game and it was great!!! Our server Havanna I believe was helpful and delightful. We will be back.

   Menu changes were not updated online and hard copies, thus many offerings ‘not available’. Stale nachos and tortilla chips. Good wine flight and service though!

   I have been to Louie’s before and enjoyed good food and service. But our Valentines Day experience was disappointing. We were seated in the bar area with patrons at the bar so close the wait staff had a hard time getting through by our table. Drinks took 20 minutes to arrive at the table, the waitress spilled a glass of wine all over my son but because the glass wasn’t totally empty she brought only a third of a glass to replace it. The wine should have been comped at that point. Although the scallops were exceptional, the risotto arrived cold. Two of us got the prix fixe meal which was to come with a piece of cake. We had to get out the microscope to see the cake when it arrived. It was maybe one bite. So an experience that was to have been part of a great evening for my family really was just a disappointment.

   Louie's is one of my favorite restaurants. It's got a relaxed, modern ambience. The service is always great. The food menu includes some consistently good dishes, along with a chef's menu that changes monthly. I have never been disappointed by anything I've ordered - from the salmon salad to burgers to swordfish, a recent chef's special. Louie's is just great.

   You can never say enough good things about this restaurant. The only downside is it’s in Coarlville and not Des Moines. This location makes the Des Moines location looks like a greasy spoon compared to this location. Fast and efficient service and great food. I highly recommend it.

   We had a nice, relaxing meal on a Saturday evening. Not too loud. Good service, food and wine.

   To begin, I was there with a party of almost 10 and we had a reservation 2 weeks in advance. The service from our waitress was horrible. She rushed us through our meal and didn’t seem to care that we were there for a birthday. It was as if the manager felt obligated to offer my party a chocolate torte to somewhat save the experience; It didn’t. The food was bland and if you’re going on a weekend it will be loud and busy. The ambiance and price of food boosted the somewhat mediocre experience we had.

    Not as stupidly expensive as we were anticipating. Wine selection was excellent, beer not do much. We ordered Carnitas Nachos and roast pork does not a carnita make. Roast pork nachos would be a better name. It was worth the money but not what I was expecting.
