Birthday Celebration was awesome! Well taken care of by the owner and staff.,I would return for casual dining.
Birthday dinner. Service was fabulous, food delicious & beautiful ambiance.
Great place great food and service I would recommend to anyone
The food was great and the server was outstanding it was my birthday and she brought me a dessert so my family could sing happy birthday to my
I visited Louie's for the first time with friends who have been there. The restaurant had only 2 other tables with guests. We were given our choice of table, which was nice. I ordered one of the specials, Ahi Tuna. It was $42. The Ahi was good, but I believe that price is really high and not mentioned when waiter shared about the specials. Waiter was attentive but for such an expensive, fine dining establishment the level of service and professionalism did not compare to other like restaurants. Desserts were expensive for not being house made. Manager/owner came around to check on our table. He was in blue jeans. Again, seemed odd for a restaurant of this nature. No one was near the door to thank us for coming, and say goodbye. Value for price paid, poor.
The food was ok. The waitress was horrible. Not very attentive. Had to send someone else over to take our drink orders. Had to ask every time instead of just checking on the table. I saw other servers in the restaurant giving better service. I have spent less money and got way better service. That will be my first and last time coming to that restaurant.
If your looking for a wonderful, fun romantic meal for a reasonable price this is a must! Alex is the best served on the southside. The steak was made to perfection. The drinks are great, they even go retro! Try it you'll love it too .
My husband and I were celebrating my retirement from the company I worked for almost 32 years. I had made reservations for us and our 4 adult children. The food was great as was the service up until the end when I got the bill and gave our waitress what I felt was a generous tip of $40 cash. Our bill was about $240, which I paid with my debit card. Forty dollars of the bill was for beers we had ordered, so we gave her 20% of the $200 food order. You would have thought I gave her $2.00 by the way she acted toward us the remainder of the time we sat at the table. We ALL noticed the change in her behavior toward us. It was a very uncomfortable ending to what we wanted to be a special night. We all passed her when leaving and said “goodnight” and “thank you”. She did not say a word. Very odd. My husband asked did we do something wrong. I told him I felt it had to be she wasn’t satisfied with the tip as her interactions with us changed drastically after I handed her the money. I guess my first clue should have been that she argued with the manager, that we should be her table since the other waiter just had a table of 5 as we were being seated. I thought it was unprofessional to have those discussions in front of customers. I would like to come back but I would not want the same server. I felt her interactions with us were not genuine, especially since we were treated so rudely after I paid the bill.
I took my husband here for his birthday and enjoyed a lovely meal with excellent service.
I dined at Louies this past weekend for a bidthdate event and I must say that the aervice was exceptional and the food was absolutely delectable. I would definitely recommend dining here if your looking for a great dining experience.
Nice neighborhood establishment. Bartender was very friendly and some of the staff were there dining with family (which is a good sign).
Owner stopped by to personally ask me about my dinner. Would go again!
"The cousins" had a mini reunion and the 6 of us had delicous meals, drinks and service. My salmon with raspberry was delicous and the others were all complimentary on their meals
Coming here for many years when I come to Chicago. Restaurant getting too old. Needs a complete redo.
Food is still good but service was below standard. Our waiter (tall man) was not pleasant at all. Got the impression he could care less about us dining in the restaurant much less his table. We dined early evening before the crowd.so there was no reason to be impatient.
As always, food is very good. Service was good. Love having this restaurant in the neighborhood.
Wonderful meal -- great salad, great dressing.
The specials were wonderful -- we had the blackened scallops, the steak with scallops; also, a reg on the menu, the ribs.
Dessert should not be passed up!
Wow how the mighty have fallen, had the worst steak of my life so much fat thin as can be just gross. The menu and appys are so outdated. You walk in it’s filthy outside with the gross people smoking outside the slot machine place. They should shut the doors of this place. It’s dark and smells gross please stay away from here
It was my first time visiting Louie Chophouse the food was very good. I met Louie, the owner which he was very visible and stop by to check to see how everything was going. The waiter was very prompt and attentive to our needs. I will be definitely visiting there again.
The waitress we had was thw slowest worst waitress on the floor. The appetizers were good, but the food was not up to par. It used to be great. Last night was horrible.
It was horrible I used to love Louie’s but not anymore. I will never ever step foot in there again. The waitress snatched the menus out of our hands first off then we waited for our food and got it an hour or so later. The manager had an attitude the waitress had an attitude the food was not good we sent the steak back two times after that we just said forget the steak didn’t even eat. Other people was sending their food back also. I will never go to eat there again.
Celebrating Father’s Day
The food is amazing and the price is even better. Where can you go and get a Ribeye that comes with a salad, vegetables, plus a side for under 40.00. The Best Steak house on the Southside!!!!
Our family always enjoys a great dinner at Louie's
This is a great “go to” “in town” place to go to and take people. Great food, helpful and patient servers!
Great food, great service, great ambiance will definitely go back again, and refer a friend.
Great experience, good food, amazing drinks!
Mother’s Day was my first time visiting Louie’s Chophouse . I took my mother there and she totally enjoyed herself along with me . The food was delicious the waitress Brenda was so attentive and kind . The atmosphere was wonderful I would definitely recommend this restaurant for delicious meal and overall good outing. I’m so glad it was referred by a friend who attended a Christmas Party there last year. I will be going back.
Good as always. Temperature was colder than normal. Everyone was redonning their jackets. Ladies received roses. Mom's day menu was a slight change. Had the grouper done Greek style. Shrimp bisque was outstanding.
Mother’s Day dinner was the occasion and the service was amazing. The food was great.the pork chops were delicious (just a little tough) we will be returning
Went there for Mother’s Day party at four we had a reservation had to wait a little bit it was busy night as expected. They did their best to get us seated we enjoyed the food great price. Would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
Absolutely worst service in the world. They are not only understaffed, but have in competent wait staff to compound the issue. This used to be one of my favorite places but probably won’t be returning after this awful experience. There were periods were our waitress wouldn’t come by for 20 minutes. One of the dishes was severely overlooked and had to send it back. It took almost 3 hours to get through our dinner because the waitstaff was so bad and had to ask to refill water glasses 3 times. stay away from this place.
Everything was awesome!! The zucchini appetizer is amazing and the ahi dinner melted in your mouth!!
Love this place!!!!!
The food is consistently good. Although the restaurant was fairly empty, the service was a little slow.
We've been going to Louie's for many years. It's been our go to place for special occasions. Friday was our 50th wedding anniversary so we chose Louie's and once again had an excellent meal and service.
Perfect from start to finish
Great for late night dining. Appetizer platter amazing!
Myself and my wife have been there several times. Food and service always good we really enjoy ourselves there. Be back soon.
Great evening at Louis. Love the octopus. My filet was excellent. Great service too
Our server had to many tables, plus the back room w a party. I got a bone in steak. It came with 2 shrimp. They were good, steak came in cracked pepper and blue cheese. 2 things I don't care for. The waitress never said that's how it comes, or I never would of ordered it. I had to scrape off the blue cheese, the cracked pepper corn was very potent. I never use pepper on anything. The steak was good, just not my favorite. My wife ordered the halibut special. The hostess came out to say they were out of it, so she got the salmon. Food is good, just off, since both our dinners were not what we wanted. Our time was at 6pm, so kinda shocked they were out of the halibut special.
The food was not good. 4 of us had the TBone steak which mine was over cooked (charred) and the other two were Smokey and not good. Disappointing we usually love this place but today it was not good at all.
