The place Louie Louie has an overall very nice cozy atmosphere. Waitress very nice. Good drinks. Great burger and oysters very fresh.
Was a great way to get my Team together after working from home for over a year.
Beautiful ambience. Great service. Terrific Food
This is was my husband and I's second time dining at Louie Louie for brunch. We enjoyed the monkey bread and the bottomless Mimosa. We enjoy the atmosphere and the chicken sausage. We will be visiting again.
Great food and service 💕 spent the day at the hospital everyone was so sweet
The food is unbelievably good!!! I would highly recommend this place.
Food was amazing and service was great! Highly recommend for brunch. Very lively on a Saturday.
Family dinner, cocktail ambiance. Too noisy was the only downside. Appetizers are small
Ok...Louie Louie! Great first impression for sure!
I made reservations for a girls get together and I arrived early to make sure we got prime seating and check out the overall vibe of the place! I ordered a drink @ the bar and it wasn't off the happy hour menu so that was a bit pricey ($15) for a vodka gimlet! If you are there for Happy Hour..stick to that menu (will be kinder to your pockets..lol)!
Great vibes all around...Staff were super friendly and helpful about the menu and assisted with recommendations! When my party arrived, they were pleased with the decor and energy of the restaurant!
We all places starter orders from: oysters (sorry..no pic..sucked those down real quick..lol) and ratatouille which were both flavorful! Our main dishes: Calamari and Salmon were on-point!
Overall, Louie Louie was a success and this may be my new Happy Hour Spot in University City!
Loved the restaurant before I went vegan! Was hoping there would be more options than just some sides though. The server didn't know what could be made vegan either. The service could have been a bit more attentive. I ordered a second drink and never received it, then found it on the bill when I got home.
Overall great vibe, just need more attention to detail from service!
Excellent food and accommodating staff with change in party size.
Louie Louie is a lovely little bistro that, with a little imagination, will have you feeling as though you’re enjoying an evening of cocktails in Paris. The food and drink menu covers all of the bases, and the service is attentive, however, where this restaurant really shines is in its decor and atmosphere.
A great place to spend one’s birthday!
The food was good except that my calamari was soggy. They immediately replaced it with another choice. Our server, Candace, was outstanding, and made the whole evening an absolute pleasure!
Went there for a birthday and the staff and the ambiance was really nice. The appetizers were good but the entrees were lacking in terms of flavor. Overall had a nice time!
Good vibe, great cocktails but the food not so great. Would go back for cocktails and small bites but no main.
Been here multiple times. Good food and fantastic service. Noise level was high this time as the fire/emergency alarm kept going off.
Great dining room, with an Art Deco theme, friendly service and a really great sound track, but unfortunately the food was disappointing. We had gazpacho and a Caesar salad, which both missed the mark by a wide margin. Fried calamari were only marginally better, although the chicken liver mousse was surprisingly good. Two wines by the glass were ok, not great. Service was pretty slow, especially wine service, and this was a very slow night. This restaurant could knock the ball out of the park if management decided to take the food and service seriously. Overall, though, not bad for a college campus restaurant.
Our waitress was amazing and had great suggestions. The ambiance was wonderful.
While the restaurant had an attractive esthetic and very attentive staff. We were rather underwhelmed with the food. We ordered the escargot for an appetizer, which the au gratin preparation hid the escargot flavor as a delicacy. We also ordered the rabbit pappardelle and French dip as entrees and each dish was fine but seemed to be lacking a full flavor profile.
great, fun atmosphere! I absolutely love their bacon-wrapped dates and their french fries. Their cocktails are unique and yummy and you cannot go wrong! Service was great and food came out F A S T!
Great food! Wonderful ambiance. Such a relaxing place to have lunch.
The atmosphere is amazing. I want try brunch next time!
Kelly was a helpful and accommodating server. A great lunch. Thanks!
It’s a really nice place! I made reservations online! When we got there (5 minutes early) it was really crowded. Waited about 20 minutes in the beautiful lobby area and the the receptionist came over to escort us to be seated outside. I told her that I couldn’t sit outside (I cannot be in direct sunlight for very long periods of time). She said well this is all we have. When I made my reservations I asked for “standard seating”. She then escorted me to the bar and said this is all we have, it’s full service! The bartender was great! He was sooo nice!!! There was way too much going on at the bar! A waitress broke a bottle, I needed more syrup and utensils. He was working the bar alone and was spread too thin. The bartender made me experience better. Not sure if I will go back, it’s probably a really great establishment. That was my first time and I do not plan to recommend it to anyone.
It was a 95 degree day and the restaurant was half empty and the hostess wouldn't accommodate our request to sit inside. Restaurant was short staffed and it took us about an hour to get our food.
Whoever our server was took 31 minutes to bring us drinks. Two bloody Mary’s, glass of rose, and a beer.
I felt personally insulted when he automatically added gratuity at the end, despite the fact I was tempted to just go up to the bar and grab our drinks that had quite obviously been sitting there forever. It’s not like it was even that busy - expert opinion by a fellow restaurant owner in the crowd.
Waited 15 minutes for just water, other 15 for a glass of wine. Didn’t have two wines we wanted. Got our order wrong, order another glass of wine which we never got, but charged for it. I felt they were laughing at us. Never apologized.
Food quality was mixed: good appetizers but two dry omelets followed. Service terribly slow. Two hours for a two-course lunch. We had to push the server to bring our main course, waited 45 minutes after the appetizers were cleared. Music was unbearably loud; we had to shout to hear one another. Overall, an unpleasant experience.
Best restaurant in university city. Just awesome setting and food
Brunch was excellent. The food was very good, the service was great. Cocktails were perfect - I highly recommend the Bloody Mary. Serving sizes were perfect, too.
Everything was fantastic only thing I recommend is a animal section where people with animals or pets can sit there was someone with dog allergies and they looked unhappy
food was delish and different
We had a great experience at Louie Louie! The waitstaff were very attentive and service was high quality, and the food and drinks were absolutely delicious! Photos: watermelon panzanella, oysters, summer vegetable ratatouille and louie burger, and strawberry martini and mangojito. We also loved the cucumber one crush. Highly recommend!
Restaurant was empty on on Sunday night. Maybe 4 other tables. New waitress, didn’t know a salad was an appetizer and should come out with the soups and other salad. Dumped fries on my purse. Really needs more training and better listening skills.
Hostess and Maya were lovely as well as the bartenders
I would definitely come back here maybe for the night time.
Took my mom here for her birthday brunch and we definitely left with mixed feelings. This was both of our first times at Louie Louie. We arrived 10 minutes early, checked in with someone at the desk and they said our table wasn’t ready yet since we were early, no problem we let them know that we would be waiting outside because it was a nice day and fairly crowded by the front desk. 25 minutes goes by, so we’re now 15 past our reservation time, I decide to go in and check on our table. The girl at the desk said she had no idea we were there and whoever I talked to before didn’t let her know that we checked in. She was able to get us seated a few minutes later. When ordering drinks, we were awkwardly presented with a bottle of wine after asking for two glasses - we went with the bottle because our server told us it would end up being cheaper if we both drank two glasses, we trusted her in the moment and afterwards realized the individual price per glass was cheaper than we thought & we bought a $50 bottle of wine for no reason! It would of been cheaper to each get two glasses than buy that bottle. Not to mention we googled the wine afterwards and saw it really costs… $7.99. So that was off-putting. The cheese plate was great but our entrees were just okay. The prices were slightly high for the quality. Not sure if we would come back again.
Kelly was such a wonderful server! She was so awesome and made our experience top notch. We loved her and will definitely be coming back to see her again!
