The location is the best part - our table was at the window overlooking the water and Monterey Bay. Watching the sea otters, seals, and birds was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed my chicken fettuccine, very flavorful and Delicious sourdough bread. My fiancé was not as impressed with his food, but said he would enjoy Louie Linguini ‘s for lunch rather than dinner. He felt the ambiance was disappointing for dinner - it does feel a bit like a tourists’ drop-in coffee shop more than a coastal dinner spot. However, the hostess and staff were very nice and accommodating. My only complaint there is that it was apparent that our waiter had a cold or allergies...a bit of a turn-off. There is a very nice bar area and it is fun to read the various fun “articles” (humorous mock-ups)on the wall describing Louie Linguini’s brushes with fame and fortune (but never quite made the grade! 🙃). Overall I would recommend this restaurant for it’s daytime views, as a casual restaurant with good food and friendly service in a beautiful location!
Our waiter was horrible!! We had to flag him down multiple times because he didn’t come to check in with us during our meal & he took our change without asking us if we needed change which was only $10 & I was intending to tip $25 so I asked him for the change to get the bill holder back to add more money and he was rude and tossed it on the table (implying I wasn’t going to tip). I was very offended!! I still gave him the $25 tip but left the establishment never intended to return. Horrible service!!
Good for adults and kids. We liked that they rushed the food for our hungry kids while we had drinks and took our time. Would definitely go back.
My husband and I pretty much choose Louie Linguini's every time we are in the area. This most recent visit we shared the experience with 2 of our daughters and 6 grandchildren ranging in age from 3 to 10! Every one was very happy with their food and had an enjoyable time. I don't remember our waitresses name but she was awesome! Thank you again!
Great service! That’s very important to me.
We had been driving all day across the country, we were tired, not sure where to eat, had a look on open table app. It was ok, too much fried food, not a great choice of fresh fish. It turned out to be a family style restaurant, no great decor, wasn’t particularly memorable except the waiter was very professional.
We stopped here for lunch on the way to Carmel based on the reviews. The atmosphere is very tired but the service was friendly and the food very good. We both had pastas with seafood - one with scampi and another with clams. The portions and sauces were just right. We would go back even though the interior could use a remodel.
Manager and staff was very awesome. I propose to my girlfriend of 3 years this particular night. Manager and staff was very supportive and also gave us dessert on the house.🙌
We got two pasta dishes, both of which were undercooked. One pasta had no flavor at all :(
Great food, great views, reasonably priced for the area.
Cioppino was definitely below avarage, fish was just OK, but norhing special.
Service is prearry good, if only food could match it it would be ok
After reading such raving reviews we were excited to try some delicious, fresh seafood. What a disappointment, the $20 crab cake appetizer was nothing more than a small pile of undressed salad leaves and 3 small, previously frozen patties. It looked as unappetizing as it tasted. The scampi linguine, apparently in a butter lemon sauce, was tasteless, I couldn't even taste the lemon. The predominant flavor came from the canned tomatoes mixed in the pasta, not what I expected at all. You would think they might get it right with blackened snapper, with cajun spices, but my husband said even that was tasteless. Save your money and find somewhere better.
We were disappointed. On a Saturday night on Cannery Row, before 8 pm this place was not busy. We know why. The service was very slow. Sit outside only if you like to be left alone. My husband had the Ciopino and said it lacked flavor and it tasted like Campbell's soup. I ordered the sausage and alfrefo dish. It was ok. My son had the pizza and he ate only two pieces as it was too greasy, for him. We had many choices and we chose wrong. Perhaps it was an off night for them. Possibly. All i know is that we will not visit again upon our next visit.
The service was very nice. We will be going back.
Quick service, tasty food. Went there for my daughters birthday and they brought her out a little treat. Beautiful views of the water.
Did not live up to expectations based on ratings, at all.
Wonderful food great service nice atmosphere
Our family decided to try Louie Linguini's restaurant because we didn't plan properly to visit our usual favorite nearby. We were able to get a reservation 5 minutes prior to our desired arrival time, which should have been telling. The food was very average- nothing special and inconsistent- starting with the rubbery bread and grainy butter. I am thankful they offered a vegetable on the kid's menu though, which is unusual. However, the kids' meals arrived with varying quantities, even between the same item. We paid extra for the kid's spaghetti and meatball, only it had half the amount of pasta as the plain spaghetti marinara. The sauce also tasted bitter from burned garlic, so my kids didn't like it anyway. My husband and I ordered the piccata fish, and it was just meh. The fish did taste fresh (as it should!), but the piccata sauce was thin and watery. The entire dish seriously lacked flavor, and everything needed salt. The best part of our meal was our attentive server. We won't return, but it's an OK restaurant if you're in a pinch.
Huge menu! Had a hard time deciding what to order. Our waitress was very helpful and gave some good suggestions. The beauty of this place is the comfortable atmosphere with down home type food paired with a good view and prices that won't necessary break the bank. Don't go assuming it is a 5 star restaurant with a famous chef and you won't be disappointed. We enjoyed it.
We had a New Years Eve dinner here, great service, good wine selection and a good atmosphere, large helpings of food too! This is our 2nd time here and I will definitely return!
Had New Years Eve dinner here. Food was delivered quickly and was delicious. We also had a great seat near the window facing the ocean. Highly suggest for dates or casual dinner.
We went as a family on a vacation together and the restaurant was accommodating of our large group, very friendly, flexible with our reservation and had the high chair at our table for the baby. The food was basically good, not great, but nothing was bad either. The waiter seemed harried, but did his job effectively. We had an enjoyable experience.
Clam chowder and cippino were excellent.
No frills, but great food quality and service (always)! i've dined here from time to time and have always had pleasant experiences here. Thank you!
Each person in our group enjoyed their food very much. Nice portion size. Appetizer and dessert were very good, too. Very good service since we had an early lunch reservation. Later on it was busier as we were leaving. Would recommend this restaurant to others.
Very nice restaurant with good service and reasonably priced dinners
Amazing clam chowder & fried shrimp for lunch. We sat outside on the porch and had an amazing view! Service was excellent also!
Fun place to bring kids with good sea food
Perfect view with excellent service and food. It was the perfect location for afternoon lunch break on the waterfront
We were all pleased with the service our waiter was on top of everything. We did not feel rushed nor were we ignored, the food for all eight of us came out at the same time and was not cold, outstanding! We never once had to track down the waiter for anything we needed he was always checking in on us. Great experience and definitely call ahead if you have a large party to give them a heads up you won't be disappointed.
Kind of a tourist thing. Fried artichoke hearts were the best thing we had there but could have used a more interesting dipping sauce. Linguini and clams was very run-of-the-mill. Shrimp Scampi was underwhelming.
Wrong side of average for just about everything.
How can a fettuccine contain mozzarella and not Parmesan?
Far better choices around.
Won't be going back.
We liked this restaurant very much. We had never been there so first I looked it up on open table and there it was . We were right on the waterfront overlooking a beach.
The salmon was excellent cooked in a blackened style which I like very much. We will definitely go back to Louie Linguini's again.
Very slow service. Use to be better as i recall.
I made a reservation prior to going with my family of 5, while in vacation. We walked in and there were a lot of people but we were assisted right away because of our reservation. The waiter assisted us right away at our table and our bread came right away. The staff worked well together and the service was fast. My husband is allergic to shellfish and a hostess came and told us they will make sure there is no cross contamination, which was nice to do. The food came quick and it was the first time our 2 year old finished his spaghetti. We enjoyed ourselves, food was good. One minor set back was they were out of chicken and fries.
Originally, we made dinner reservation for 5:30 pm on Wednesday but the I noticed this morning that the restaurant cancelled my reservation so I called and spoke with Lance and asked about it. He kindly informed me to just make a reservation for today and will seat me so that I would get the points on open table. I loved that it was dog friendly where they seated us outside with a nice view and my dog had already eaten for if I knew, I would have ordered something on the dog menu (so cute). I appreciate that they gave. A military discount.
They served warm bread with whipped butter.
2 Cioppino (3 slice of bread was soggy, its normally served crunchy and I let dipping in in the sauce.)
Food was pretty good, we had several pasta.
Service was inattentive, he made several faults, and afterwards he tried to ignore us.
Great view. We sat on balcony outside and there were heat lamps. Food is fine but the view spectacular and they are near museum. Next time I think I'll just get a salad st the museum. Cheaper and with the same view, including outdoor options.
Nice place and good food! I would be back if I lived near to it.
A truly lovely experience for my 2 daughters and I. The server was particularly impressive. She saw us struggling to make a choice with the great menu and simply asked us what we felt like eating. She ended up combining several menu options and the result was magnificent! Loved the amazing view, wonderful service and awesome biew! Definitely a place we'd return to.
