lou’s menu is best described as abundant, feminine, bright and very visually stimulating. Chef/Owner, Mailea Weger, specializes in CalifornianCuisine offering a vegetable forward approach and a focused selection of proteins. The menu will be largely driven by local and sustainable ingredients, with an attention to seasonality and an emphasis on the regional bounty. Chef/ Owner, Mailea Weger has trained in some of the best kitchens in New Orleans, New York, Los Angeles and Paris. She was the opening Sous Chef at the cult favorite Gjusta in Venice Beach and moved to Paris to open Echo in 2017 with feverish success.
Staff, food, vibe was absolutely incredible. We wish we lived in Nashville so we could make lou a regular spot of ours.
This restaurant was super cute! The wine was delicious and the service was outstanding. Because it's a smaller spot, the noise level was a bit high, but it kind of added to the vibe. My only wish, was that the charcuterie was a bigger portion.
The waitress we had for dinner at Lou wasn't very friendly. She seemed annoyed about answering questions about the menu. I had to ask for the candle to be lit at our table (all the other tables had the candle).
The food was really great, but there just wasn't much of it. The price is extremely high for the amount that you get.
The little house was very cute, but not sure if I would return based on the total value of the dinner experience/menu.
Solid food and exceptional service! Great for wine lovers who like to experiment with unique wines. Our server was very knowledgeable and listened to our likes and dislikes. She made really great recommendations!

Parking is tricky. Food is fabulous. It is LOUD.
The food is inventive and the wine selection is good. The location and ambience is very quaint. However, they haven’t quite figured out the operations of a restaurant quite yet. The food came out at different times. Apps, plates, side dishes, etc. The staff seemed disheveled at times, if not frustrated that they were busy. The plates and servings were very small, indicative of a French style menu, but they were very tasty. The flank steak was tough and over cooked. I was hoping for at least a 4 star experience based on our $225 tab, but I’ve had much better food and experience for much less. This could be a great place, hopefully they will get the operations figured out and make the experience more “special” considering the prices they are charging.
A true neighborhood bistro that is a wonderful combination of Venice CA and Paris (where the owner and Chef is from). Our dinner was delicious. The salads, vegetables, the lamb ribs, all fantastic. We took the owners recommendation on a bottle of natural white wine and we were not disappointed. Dont sleep on this place.
I had friends coming from out of town and I wanted to try a new and unique restaurant. We enjoyed our attentive and knowledgeable server. Our dishes were delicious. It’s a small house so it was loud. Our server was kind enough to turn down the music which helped the noise level.
Great experience at Lou. Husband & I popped in for a late night dinner and loved it. Shared various small plates, which were all delicious. Absolutely loved the house red wine - 1/2 carafe $20.

What a gem has come to East Nashville!! Everything about our experience at Lou was fabulous. The food is inventive, bright, fresh and delicious. Wine pairings were interesting and reasonabley pricedThe house is charming and the staff are efficient and friendly. Can't wait until the get the patio open for the nice fall weather coming.

Excellent new restaurant! We went for brunch and the food was delicious. Unique menu, great service and ambiance. Will definitely be back!
Noise level was VERY hight and our meal was VERY delayed. We saw two parties seated after us receive their meals (one even paid and left while we waited). But while our food didn't arrive until 40 minutes after we ordered, server Mary was wonderful, and even brought a complementary starter. Her attitude and the tasty meal were both the biggest reasons I'll be back, and will recommend lou to my friends...even with the decibel level. ;-)

Wonderful brunch experience at Lou. Friendly waitstaff made this place standout against other trendy Nashville spots that leave much hospitality to be desired. Delicious coffee and warm breakfast cake to share. Poached eggs and broccolini were a standout dish. A must-try!

The food was very interesting and our server was super nice! The only thing is that the service was noticeably slow. They might still be working that out. We went for brunch and didn't order anything to share as an appetizer. We got our drinks after about 15 minutes and didn't get any food for about 35 min after ordering.

Our server was phenomenal (so hard to find in Nashville these days) and made our experience extra special. The food was divine! Perfectly timed. The young bartender was extremely talented and took great pride in his craft. What a well-run establishment! The hostess was wearing a vintage Harley Davidson T-shirt which threw me for a loop. I guess that just means I'm old:) We will be back for sure!

Great to see a new neighborhood spot pop up. The lamb ribs and crispy rice are a great combo. If the chocolate semifreddo is on the menu definitely get it; it’s decadent but delicious.

A welcome addition to the Nashville dining scene. Well composed dishes that are innovative without being contrived. The natural wine focus is a much needed addition as well.

I am a very critical eater but I have only one word to describe my experience at Lou, Excellent! Delicious food - every plate was fantastic, wonderful atmosphere and top notch service. I plan to visit again soon!

The food was very good. The restaurant was EXTREMELY LOUD with no curtains or rugs to dampen the noise. We were happy to wait at the bar for our table, but the bartender was not at all knowledgeable about their wine list and the red wine was far too warm. I did have higher expectations from a “natural wine bar”. Our server was fair. The chicken was our least favorite dish, and the muscles our favorite. We would return again for the food and forgive the service mishaps as the restaurant is brand new.

Coffee au lait was meh. Egg cazuela had little/no chorizo in it and was bland in general....black tea was ordered and we got green instead. VERY loud (just a few sound attenuating panels would help). There is some work to be done there on all fronts.

Wine, service and ambiance were great. Started off great with the food. Excellent apps, but then the flank steak and chicken were both blah. Chicken was dry, steak was chewy.

Absolutely fantastic brunch experience - charming atmosphere, yummy drinks, delicious food. Several gluten free options. The service was top-notch too; everyone we interacted with was friendly in a very genuine, authentic way.
