Wonderful service and food was excellent. Ordered 3 appetizers, 3 entrees and finished it off with. banana’s foster cheesecake. Everything was a hit and would definitely come back.

The food and drinks were amazing. The hushpuppies and sauces are a must-do as well as the bread pudding! Our service was impeccable. The ambience is charming in a historical building that was built in 1865. I look forward to returning for the outdoor dining space. A great Cajun place!

We had a wonderful night at Lou Lou. When we go out to eat, we love to have a beautiful venue, moderate noise level, and a special ambiance. Lou Lou has all of that to spare, plus delicious food. The hushpuppy app is great. My salmon with mango salsa was perfectly cooked. The desserts are not to be missed. Do not sleep on that bananas foster cheesecake. Decadent cheesecake with a creme brulee top, perfectly balanced caramel sauce and bananas. The only thing that could have made that dessert better would have been if it had been served flambe, table side! Can't wait to go back and try the speakeasy downstairs for live jazz.

Great location. Nicely renovated. Good service. I wanted to love it. I ordered blackened Maji mahi with shrimp etouffe topping. Fish was very dry, over cooked. It was also very under seasoned for “ blackened”. Etouffe was ok but bland and frozen shrimp just don’t go. My husbands gumbo was ok but the bread was hard as a rock! Yikes! It was busy. But, this place would be amazing with better quality and more authentic Cajun flavors.

I picked up reservations for Lou Lou on Market for my son’s 18th birthday celebration. When we walked in the hostess said ‘happy birthday!” Aww - they were so hospitable and kind. Delicious Cajun food, I recommend the low-country boil, and the seafood fettuccine. They brought our beignets out with a candle to celebrate our birthday boy. We were able to take our drinks after dinmer downstairs where a live jazz band was playing. I’m looking forward to going back when the weather is a bit warmer to take advantage of their beautiful outdoor seating, fire pit, and live acts stage in their premium central Nulu locale.

What a treat! not only have we found another favorite spot, but we also found a great speakeasy for future entertainment! The food was awesome. Our waiter was great in the atmosphere was splendid Hats off!

This was a meal that didn’t just have good flavor, but you could taste the complexity of different flavors with different bites. I got the blackened mahi. I recently had fresh mahi in Florida and the meal that I had here at LouLou on market was absolutely as good. my husband got a bowl of the gumbo. It also was exceptional. And then we topped it off with sharing the banana foster cheesecake. I would’ve loved more bites of that cheesecake. Something about it was just unique. The texture of it I think is what did it for me. It was almost velvety. Needless to say, Everything was so good and I can’t wait to go back.

So we love this restaurant and its sister across town. Service is always good and the food so unique and tasty. Our last visit found us at an awkward table upstairs with some real drafty currents switching from warm to cold. It was a super busy night and we knew we couldn't switch tables but the manager adjusted the heat for us and that made all the difference. The meal pacing was perfect and the server popped in and out, sometimes doing her tasks unnoticed by us. I will say that she lacked acknowledge about some menu items but the overall experience certainly was so pleasant it didn't impact our evening. We look forward to our next visit.

We had the mussels as an appetizer. They were small, fishy and didn’t really have the flavor of the sauce they came in. They were just ok. For our main meal, we had the jambalaya and gumbo. The gumbo didn’t really have too much flavor. And the jambalaya was spicy, but also lacked flavor. Overall, the environment wasn’t too bad, service was decent. I just wish the food had more flavor.

We had red beans and rice, plus shrimp and grits and both were wonderful. Wait staff were attentive and pleasant. Went to speak easy downstairs, had a drink and listened to some really good jazz. Will absolutely go back.

We arrived early to grab a cocktail down in the speakeasy, which turned out to be two of the worst cocktail we’ve ever had. Took maybe 2 sips before heading upstairs. Luckily, our server was at the host stand and got us new drinks, which were much better. The food was delicious and service on point rest of the evening!

High hopes with moderate results. Arrived early for our reservation and had to wait even though half the tables were unused. Then forced to crap in with several others. Not great for an Anniversary dinner. Serving staff seemed more interested in just getting thru the night than helping. Food was decent and as expected for the price point. Just seemed like they were checking the box and little more. I would suggest La Bodeguita across the street for a more intimate experience with better service.

Nice space/place. The wedge salads and linguine w/ meatballs were very good. The gumbo was mediocre. Both main courses were brought out within minutes of the salads and the check was brought to us before we finished our meals. Dessert was not offered. Closing time was an hour away. Very disappointing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience at Lou Lou on Market. We also discovered a gem in the basement, a Speak Easy called Stave. Joe, the bartender, was a master at recommending bourbons and creating the perfect Old Fashioned!!

I enjoyed the shimp and grits, my fiance had the salmon which was good but a little overcooked. Drinks were OK, but a little disappointed for the price. Neat place, I would go back, but not on the regular. Excellent service, waitstaff knowledgeable and helpful.
