Before the James Beard Award and the Gourmet Magazine review, Lotus of Siam was a small little hole in the wall located in Commercial Center in Las Vegas. November 1999 was the month Chef Saipin and her husband Bill took over Lotus of Siam. Since then, Thai food became an adventure for those willing to step out of their comfort zones for Asian Cuisine. Chef Saipin’s distinct cooking has been passed down from generation to generation, from both her grandmothers and her husband’s grandmothers. Her northern style cooking has opened America into the “Northern” world of Thailand, away from the Bangkok style of sweet and tang. The northern menu consists of hearty herbs and spices, along with Thai style stews and coconut-less curries. Through her set menus, our guests can dine and enjoy recipes from over 100 years in the Chutima family.

    Overall the service and food was outstanding as always. Maybe it was just where we were seated (booth by the door), it felt slightly awkward to have service staff positioned directly across from us, almost observing our entire experience. Might suggest that restaurant reposition these team members to stand elsewhere.

    GREAT SERVICE! The garlic prawns, pad thai and pineapple fried rice were amazing! The other dishe was had were just okay, but overall a great experience!

    This place is off the strip but well worth the trip. It was so busy and lively inside! Our server was excellent and made some good recommendations for our group of 4. The crispy prawns are to die for! So was the crispy duck Kai soi.

    Lotus never disappoints. Solid and varied menu has something for everyone. Hard to list a favorite, everything we've ever tried is amazing!

    Lotus of Siam continues to deliver fantastic Thai food. For 20 years, we have been coming here and have never been disappointed. You must make room in your Vegas agenda for soft shell crab salad and a curry. Make a reservation and treat yourself.
