Lotus Lounge at Hotel Monte Vista
Our bars (we have two of them) have an excellent selection of Japanese Whiskies, Sake as well as a delightful Craft Cocktail & Wine list.
We are located inside Flagstaff's third post office, aka the OPO, originally built in 1917 and just north of Hotel Monte Vista. In addition to the beautiful Art Deco architecture of the building, our upstairs dining room has spectacular views of N. San Francisco Street--perfect scenery for a delicious meal while dining in downtown Flagstaff.

In lieu of a long review, suffice it to say the staff was unwelcoming, server inept and food barely edible. Don’t waste your time or money.
Great flavors in the food. Needs refinement. Service was slow but at least friendly. Very busy on a Friday night. Need reservations.
Food was excellent. Bar was backed up but otherwise service was excellent. Less expensive than other sushi/Asian fusion places. Fun atmosphere. Not too loud on a Thursday evening. Overall, a great experience.
We had such a great experience at Lotus Lounge! It was actually pretty slow for a Saturday, but definitely still jumping. I loved the two story dining room where we could look down at the bar and people watch as well as see drinks being made. Our server, Zach, was such a delight! He had wonderful energy, was very knowledgeable about the menu, and was overall a fantastic server. We loved the food, especially the sushi boat. It was great to pick the rolls we wanted and the sashimi was top quality. I couldn't tell you the last time we had sushi so good! And don't stop there! The cocktails were expertly crafted, strong, and so flavorful! The Middle Ground had a touch too much cinnamon for us, but otherwise was delicious. The A6M-Zero, Sol, and the New-New Fashioned were perfectly balanced in flavor!
We were in Flagstaff for an event. This was our 4th visit to Lotus Lounge. It is consistently outstanding no matter what we order. I had the salmon entree and it was generously portioned, with outstanding flavor. We shared crab Rangoon and pot stickers, both outstanding. My husband had the sushi, which was bright, fresh and beautifully presented. Our son had a poke bowl and raved about that as well. My only disappointment is that they don’t have a location in Tucson. I would be there at least once a week!
Our server Sebastian was great! Would definitely visit again.
Nice trendy atmosphere, but the food is just average.
This was our fist time at this establishment. We were seated immediately and our waiter came to the table pretty quick. He seemed a little unfriendly at first, but he was moving like crazy, trying to take care of quite a few tables; so maybe a bit overwhelmed. He came around and overall was a fantastic server and we really enjoyed him. Our food was amazing! Even with picky eaters that we had with us, everyone loved the appetizers and their meals. We normally don't order dessert, but we did and the options were very interesting and quite delicious. When our children (young adults) ask if we could eat there again, that speaks volumes! Great experience.
Great food. Splendid waitress!!
Never got to eat…. Waiter was so bothered by have to serve us. We thought it best to leave.
Made the mistake of ordering 2 appetizers, which were delicious and full of flavor. But we didn't know the egg rolls would be 6 large pieces and the pork gyoza, nicely browned and full of pork, were 6 pieces. Probably should have asked. The egg rolls were super crunchy from the veggies inside but the skin was also crunchy and tasted great. This limited us to 1 shared meal, the salmon, because we were pretty full. It had an amazing coleslaw on top, greens on the rice and a wonderful sauce. The salmon was pink and lovely. My only complaint was the French 75 , it didn't have the requisite lemon slice and tasted bland, not even sure the Cognac was in it. The restaurant was busy on a Wednesday night, and wile we didn't get any, the sushi rolls we watched buzz by us were enticing. We will definit4ely return the next time in Flagstaff.
Food and drinks were good. Just a little slow.
Downtown Flagstaff on Saturday night is very vibrant and fun. College town, lots going on. Making a reservation is best.
We didn’t have sushi which looked great. I only reason I gave 4 stars on food was we had the pork belly boa buns.
I was disappointed in the boa bun it was a little dry and heavy. Maybe not homemade.
The duck croquettes were yummy. Good wine selection.
Server was so nice and pleasant.
Great environment in the heart of downtown. Wonderful menu & friendly service. It is one of our regular spots for a nice evening out.
Kudos to our bartenders/servers Shawn and Quinn! Very personable, knowledgeable, and guided us to some fantastic choices on the menu. Besides having lovely presentations, our dishes were really good - among the best we've had. The pork gyozas were just the right crispiness on the outside, unlike some that are too "doughy". The Firecracker Roll was really good, and the Lotus Fried Rice, besides being beautifully presented, was a meal in itself, with chicken, shrimp, pineapple and lots of vegetables. We've already recommended Lotus Lounge to all our friends who enjoy sushi, or Chinese/Japanese style food.
Food was pretty average considering some of the reviews. Was very noisy. We sat upstairs and the sound seemed amplified even more.
Our waitress (McKenzie) was very nice and helpful.
Had the orange chicken and it was over-cooked and dry - and came with no orange sauce. Rice was dry and clumpy. Pretty disappointing.
Overall the dishes lacked any deep flavours - bland and tasteless. The chicken and shrimp fried rice was boiled beyond repair and was soggy.
Sushi roll (Firecracker) was ok.
Drinks were average too.
Great experience at the Lotus Lounge! My girlfriend and I had been wanting to try it for a while and were not disappointed. Our server, Joe, was attentive and helpful. Would highly recommend the Pork Belly Bao Buns as an appetizer! Great selection of whiskey too (including some Japanese), and I appreciated that when I ordered my whiskey neat it was served in a glencairn. Good spot to try out some new drams!
The music was way too loud for dining we couldn’t hear each other across the table- it was really loud club music? Weird!
Really enjoy the combination of entrees (love the orange chicken with fried rice), appetizers (must try the fried brussels sprouts), and sushi rolls. Our server, I wish I can remember his name, was fantastic. He kept our water glasses filled (and that is saying alot as my daughter must have drank 6 glasses of water) and had a great personality and timing on the food. We'll be back.
This place was fantastic. Food was great service was fast. Drinks were solid. Kind of a normal vibe if looking for break from the Flagstaff-ie scene.
Anniversary. Hot, noisy, wait for service. Great price for two drinks, two apps and one roll.
Our server, Sebastian, made dinner even better! Thank you!!
This was our first visit to the Lotus Lounge. We will return!
The service, cocktails, appetizers, and entrées were amazing. The depth of flavors and the care in preparation and presentation were impressive to say the least. 100% satisfied!
This is a Flagstaff gem!
We all enjoyed the Lotus rice, chicken melted in your mouth. Also the specialty rolls we ordered were delicious.
Food was good, but nothing really special. Service was friendly if somewhat low key.
The staff was amazing and the food was even better. It quickly became our favorite dinner spot in Flagstaff. We cannot wait to come back!
Amazing - food was absolutely fantastic
We were looking forward to sharing one of our favorite restaurants to friends. It was a birthday. The food was not up to the standards we expect.
Our guest said her Lotus Fried Rice lacked flavor. Didn’t see any macadamia nuts. Our other guest had the San Francisco roll and ate 1/2 of it. Said it hardly had any shrimp in it. My Orange Chicken was not as good as the past. The only hit was the salmon. I told the hostess it was a birthday and no one did anything about it. Our waitress was so busy, I had to go to the bar and get water, etc for our table. The Arizona Sake made the evening bearable.
Fun location in Flagstaff, sushi was good, tasty appetizers, entrees were decent.
Fresh sushi and great service. However, ribeye steak not the best cut.
We know Asian food but there the food is excellent even more
Amazing waiter! Food has progressively improved.
Food was really salty.
We visited for dinner on our anniversary. The Tempura veggies with shrimp that I ordered was very good; and the tiger roll was outstanding. My husband ordered the ribeye and was wry disappointed - all the food on his plate came out cold; the ribeye was overdone for medium rare.
Deliciously creative cuisine in a trendy atmosphere! They do play Trance music at a moderate volume which adds to the youthful energy, so don't go if you want to have a quiet meal.
Nice cool vibe food was really good everything was on point can’t wait to go back and I don’t live here
Excellent food and service. Sushi rolls were quite good. We started with their happy hour and stayed for dinner.
We were a bit hesitant to get sushi in Arizona but to our pleasant surprise, the sushi was very good. Not only was it fresh but really creative and delicious. The chicken dish was also great. What made our meal was our waiter, Sebastian, such a nice guy and gave great suggestions. A top value so we'd highly recommend it.
