We enjoyed a light dinner of very nice pasta (fusilli pesto; ricotta ravioli) and roast beetroot salad with a lovely glass of Oregon Pinot Noir in quiet, cosy L'Osteria on a rainy evening. Staff were kind and attentive. A beautiful memory of New York fine dining.

We’ve always enjoyed our dinners at L’Osteria. Kastro is a great waiter, and the food is reliably excellent. (The fritto misto is exceptional. Also the panna cotta.)

It was a quiet Thursday night with everyone on the city on vacation, but we had a lovely evening. The staff was pleasant and very capable and the food top-notch with reasonable prices. The small interior has a nice ambiance too. I highly recommend!

One of our top two restaurants in NYC. When visiting the Met we look forward to enjoying lunch here. Always quiet, excellent pasta, great Italian red wine list, and...the piece de la resistance: the best tiramisu on the planet. The service is also top notch.

It is located on a quite side of Lexington Ave. Although it is a small restaurant, every staff showed their outstanding service, with professionalism, courtesies and smiles on their faces. They had a well arrangement on bringing out the birthday tiramisu for my spouse as well, and it tastes good. I haven’t had a tasteful latte for a while too. We will definitely come back and enjoy our meal at the outdoor area next time.

Two of the three entrees were very good. The Carbonara, however, really missed the mark, way, way too eggy. The fettuccini Ragu was excellent; tasty and rich, as were the clams Vongole ( with sweet Manila Clams). All the pastas themselves were homemade and wonderful. The portion sizes were on the small side. The lemony panna cotta hit the spot, fresh tasting and light. The staff were smart and efficient, moving around efficiently from the small hopping dining room to the well appointed outdoor space (a cleverly converted shipping container?) The two table on the sidewalk were unappealing. It’s a popular neighborhood spot and tables become hard to come by as the evening wears on. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

This review is not about the food. It is about the rude and unprofessional manager or owner. We arrived for 7:30 reservation and were given a table which was between the host stand and the kitchen door we knew immediately we did not want to sit there, it was very unpleasant, and the host tried to accommodate us, although we would have to wait for another table --suddenly the owner or Manager approached us with such an attitude and told us this was our table and we could leave if we didn't like it. The web pictures of this restaurant are not accurate. It is very small, but the way the tables are situated on the online photos it looks romantic. In actuality, the tables are all shoved next to each other --they clearly care more about money than having their customers be comfortable as we were discussing the situation 2 people left from the back and we asked if we could sit there and he said no, that table is reserved. Really???? We went to 83 1/2 which is also on the upper Eastside and we're treated kindly and respectfully and without a reservation were seated promptly in a very nice table -the food was excellent as always, and I highly recommend spending your money here with people who are kind and respectful

Wonderful place with great food and ambience. Wait staff very attentive and they are dog friendly as they have a nice outside seating area that was recently renovated. It is a great “go to” place in the neighborhood and great for both you celebratory events as well.

We ate lunch at this charming Italian restaurant - a bright and sunny room with additional tables outside in a nicely constructed building. We split a pasta and a salad, which were delicious. The service was friendly, professional and unobtrusive. I highly recommend it.
