Food came out slower than expected but was delicious!
Great outdoor seating. Lots of street noise from Scottsdale Rd. Great chips and tomatillo salsa. A half dozen lunch specials on menu.
Los Sombreros seems very authentic, good food, drinks, like the quaint atmosphere, definitely worth the drive and giving it a try!
Great appetizers and drinks. Our seafood was good/very good but not as great as the appetizers. Prices were reasonable, service was great and friendly, and the ambience was super casual. Overall a great, fun experience and maybe I would just stick to some simple dishes next time (Crab enchiladas and pepita crusted red snapper in the middle of Phoenix might not have been the perfect choice....)
We had come from out of town and Los Sombreros was highly recommended. We had a reservation (highly advise) but they were overbooked. Recognizing the inconvenience, went out of their way to make everything perfect. The good was incredibly fresh and well prepared. Wonderful meal.
Pleasantly surprised. Party of 5 - everyone rated the food as excellent which was not expected for a Mexican restaurant. Waitress gave great service - a little slow but considering number of tables she served understandable. Outdoor patio perfect.
Food was great especially the tacos. Waiter was excellent too and helped me with the perfect portion and customization of my meal
Fantastic margaritas and great food. The patio area is nice but the tables are a bit small for more than two. The wait staff was friendly and informative and offered great suggestions. The hibiscus taco was a delightful surprise and the guacamole was some of the best I’ve ever had! Would defiantly go again!
Great authentic MexicN food. Reasonably priced. Lots of variety
It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio for Sunday brunch and be entertained by an amazing singer while we ate. We all loved what we ordered and as usual the service was great. My husband and I shared the Puerco en Mole Verde which was absolutely delicious. The pork was fork tender and the sauce was excellent; not spicy but so full of flavor. Wish we hadn't shared it, next time I'm having it all to myself. The crepas con fruitas, the huevos rancheros and the enchiladas were all devoured. For dessert 3 of us had the house specialty, pumpkin flan which was like pumpkin pie but so much creamier and 1 Chocolate cream pie which is always excellent. Each comes with homemade whipped cream making all the desserts much more decadent. If you like great Mexican food this is the place to go.
Great margaritas, great food! The lamb adobo was unbelievably good! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the patio dining and the excellent food. We will definitely be going back!
This place was great! The lamb Adobo dish was phenomenal. Our server was great. Prices were very fair. We'd go back in a second!
The margaritas were delish. I was trying to be good on my diet so I had the ceviche but there were soooo many temptations. My family loved it.
Wonderful service and fun with the staff. The food was outstanding, fresh and they accommodated both inside and outside dining switches. Great place!
Great experience, the entire wait staff was excellent! They were genuinely appreciative we chose to dine at their business. Dog friendly patio is always a plus. Patio seating after dark was a little too dimly lit, difficult to read the menu. Overall wonderful experience and we will definitely go back again and bring friends.
Have been here but it has been a while. Good food and attentative service not overbearing. One minor point. The salsa they serve with chips is so runny hard to manage when the only give you a plate to use. Would be nice to have individual bowls. The are save the turtles friendly when you ask for a straw.
Although not exactly elegant dining, this very comfortable, casual restaurant provided very good Mexican food at a reasonable price. The chicken mole was excellent with large portions with other alternatives also available to the ubiquitous tacos, etc. The service was attentive and friendly. Would return.
Los Sombreros is a gem!! We love it. The food is outstanding and the outdoor patio is very cozy and comfortable. Service is excellent too!
Food and service was very good. We will definitely return
This place is fabulous! Seriously we had the adobo lamb mole. It is to die for! Perfectly cooked, meat fell off the bone into a semi hot chocoholics dream mole’ sauce. We also had the tacos and they were great. Mixed with a few margaritas we had our own private little fiesta! Try this place it’s fantastic!!!
Great food, serving size and service. Alex the waiter was great and energetic with good suggestions.
Don’t miss going to this restaurant.
Kurt was amazing in explaining the menu and selections and explained about Restaurant Week offerings and specials.
Salsas were full flavored and amazing, not your processed tomato salsa that most Mexican restaurants are serving.
Our server Jaritza, was awesome and attentive.
From a chef and restauranteurs perspective, Sombreros food was hands down the best authentic Mexican food that I have ever had.
Sombreros off to the entire team.
Can’t wait to return.
Cute little place the only negative is that the Menus were sticky and had food on them . But, really loved the food !!
Our recent experience was wonderful as always. Service was excellent and the place filled up quickly for lunch on a Saturday.
My Dads birthday. Food and service were outstanding! Very Loud. Table was a little small and surface was sticky....
There was some confusion about our reservation, but once that was sorted out, we were treated exceptionally well, and best of all-- the food was outstanding!
great food, okay service
Fantastic! We were here while on vacation seversl years ago. We were back in the area from NJ and had to stop by for our anniversary again. Service is outstanding. The food was as hood, if not better, then we remembered.
My wife and I picked this restaurant for a date night out never having been there before. Food was fantastic, drinks were on the money and we really enjoyed dining there. We will be back that is for sure!!!
Authentic handcrafted Mexican cuisine. and a staff that have the patience and calm of angels. Will return each time I am in the Phoenix-Scottsdale area. No need to look further for true Mexican food made fresh and served graciously
Our fav Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale. Excellent flavorful food, never had a bad dish. Great tamales and mole and the verde mole is the bomb. Our go to for great food, service, and atmosphere. Oh also great drinks and the home made chocolate ice cream is delish! Run to los sombreros!!
A surprise find! Our dinner was excellent. Service was a little slow, but not intrusive so that allowed us to have a private conversation without interruption. Creative menu items that you won't find on other menus. Good wines.
Owners Geff and Kurt are really nice and the food was DELICIOUS! So many flavors! The margaritas were amaicmg!!!We we for sure be back many times
Great food, cocktails and service
The food was...okay. The vegetables were a little on the watery side and the pulled pork was not “full”of flavor. The guacamole dip was very good.
We did not like the management or the food at this restaurant. We ordered a queso fundido (value $12) and by the time we tried to eat it (a few mins after it was served) the cheese was already hard and the flavor of the dish was off. My guest and I both tried a piece each and then sent it back. I was asked if I didn’t like it or if there was something wrong with the dish. I explained BOTH. They acted like because I was white that I didn’t know what I was taking about explaining to me that’s how it comes and you gotta eat it right away. I have had this dish at other Mexican restaurants and found it to be delicious. We also ordered the Nachos and chicken quesadilla and they were both just all right but not great. The management charged us full price for the cheese dish we sent back and we were told that we could get a “free dessert (value $8) a very SMALL piece of Flan that also tasted terrible! They should have never charged us for the queso dish and we would have bought a regular sized dessert and they should have charged us that price. I will NEVER go back here or recommend this place to ANYONE! Horrible way to treat a customer!
This is a very cute place - small inside dining area, but comfortable. You could tell the food was fresh and well prepared - however, it was fairly bland. We had the steak tacos and green corn tamales - and there just was not much flavor. I admit I like my food more on the spicy side, but even my husband who will tolerate much more mild food was disappointed in the lack of flavor.
The people were very nice - service was great..... just need to work on the food a bit!
love this spot, and since new ownership is even better. small but quaint setting, great patio when it isn't too hot. food quality and prices are excellent.
Freaking love this place. So so so good. Outside patio is great. Inside is actually quiet. Which is totally rare now a days.
Authentic menu, full of flavor and variety. Service was prompt and courteous. Small, cozy, homey. Parking is limited. Indoor area is loud.
