We enjoyed a luncheon with an old friend and it happens to be our wedding anniversary week. We had the price fix lunch with an appetizer and an entry. Decent wine list, farm fresh appetizers (snap peas dressed with avocado , arugula salad, baked ricotta with mint) and Fluke were outstanding. Mains were grandma's pizza, wonderful chicken salad and a vegetarian salad. All great. We ordered a dessert to share but they had overheard our anniversary discussion and came up with a little cake with a candle. Loved it and will definitely go back as frequently as we can .
Food and service were excellent. Unique and flavorful food. Its been awhile since I've really enjoyed the flavors as much as I did here.
The bartender who served my colleague and I was so rude. I had a reservation for 2:30. My colleague arrived at 2:25 and was immediately told the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes and which point my colleague called me to that I could give him my order while in my car 3 minutes away. I believe having a reservation at 2:30 would mean the kitchen would be open to accommodate said order. I can't imagine taking someone's order the second they hit the chair. The bartender was NOT shy about showing his disdain for us being there for lunch at 2:30. I am mortified on behalf of the restaurant given how often I eat there and have even hosted an event. Cannot say that I would ever walk back in.
Amazing food and excellent lunch pre fixe deal. Waiters were friendly and helpful , taking care to ask for specific allergies while giving details on each dish to help customer make an informed choice given the many options
Every dish was delicious in an unexpected ways. Who knew you could make broccoli like. The Gemelli pasta with peas was like eating Spring. The Som was first class.
Delicious food! And great service. Food is a bit pricey, but hey, it's NYC.
This restaurant is delicious
Joey, our server, made our night. So genuine, so nice. He went above and beyond and really wowed us - descriptions of all the dishes and recommendations were spot on. The food was fantastic too! Highly recommend the date pizza and the tres leches if you're not too full.
Service was cordial but inattentive. We had to get our waiter's attention to get extra plates, get check, etc.
Food was delicious and creative but surprisingly the chicory salad which was shared had too much vinegar and we both found ourselves coughing and eating half.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend.
It was a friend's birthday- everything was excellent, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the small plates and the Grandma pizza!
Love the food here. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great vegetarian options.
It really is some of the best food in the city. Nothing is bad! Save room for dessert and make sure you get the Vanilla ice cream sundae, there is nothing else like it.
Amazing discovery. Fresh, delicious, health-sensitive food!
Good experience. Good was good, but not great.
I wouldn't recommend Loring Place unless I knew the server we had no longer worked there. Yes, the food was beautifully prepared, but the server was incredibly pretentious. For every question, he used the pronouns, we or us. So, first he asked, "How are we today?" We didn't know how he was, but we were fine. Then, "Would we like to order drinks?" No, we didn't want to order drinks, did he? And, "Is everything to our liking?" We liked the food, but we certainly didn't like his manner. He might have thought he was being "cute" or "friendly," but to us he was irritating and pretentious.
Pretty decent place. Food was good but not amazing. Worth a try.
They made my birthday so special!!
I have been going to Loring Place for three years now. While I'd never claim to have an upscale palate, my regular guy tastes absolutely love the food here. It's almost as though Chef Dan Kluger disguises healthier dishes inside the most wonderful flavors. Among other dishes, the Beet salad might be the best I've ever had.
The service is simply impeccable, as is the ambiance. And when Dan comes by your table to say Hello, it's hard not to feel special.
Special place. Special Chef.
We brought our guests from Singapore to Loring. Awesome experience as usual. Great quality food, and very friendly and attentive service. The lunch pre fixe is an excellent value, by the way
I traveled from Boston to have dinner with my two children. We got same day reservations at 9:00pm, a bit late but it worked out. Food, service, atmosphere was great.
At first I did not want to eat at Loring place because I saw a picture in the website of the dining room in full light. I thought it looked like a cafeteria. But when we got there the lighting was beautiful, dim, elegant.
First time there for Brunch, everything was excellent!!!! From the drinks at the bar to our wonderful waitress, Emma. We can't wait to return!!!
Superb meal! Whatever you do, don't let the surprising pizza toppings turn you away...they are amazing...particularly the date/bacon pizza.
Service was disappointingly brusque - they couldn’t wait to get rid of us to turn the table
Loring Place is my new favorite restaurant. I've had lunch and dinner there in the last few weeks and it is terrific. The food is delicious and imaginative and the service is spot on! Go if you can get a reservation - but leave a seat for me.
The food was just excellent as was their desserts
Chefs offerings were delightful. Every dish was better than the next one. All servers and managers genuinely want to please you.
Enjoyed our afternoon their immensely and look forward to our next dining experience there
Excellent food but pricey for the type of food
This is our favorite spot in NYC! Perfection!
Dinner was great. Staff attentive, very helpful with the menu. Will definitely come back. Want to try brunch.
Food was very good. Only complaint is that I changed the reservation time one week prior to coming and when we arrived they said they could no accommodate the change because they never received it despite me showing them the confirmation from Open Table. They seated us in the bar then stated they “moved things around” and had a small table (usually seats 2 but they added a third chair) but that we could only have the table until 7:30 (my reservation was for 530pm and they moved us to the table at 545pm). I was disappointed in the way it was initially handled.
Always a pleasure dining at Loring Place. Fabulous cocktails and inventive modern cuisine that never disappoints!
Excellent start to finish. Thoughtful service. Efficient and warm. Excellent cuisine. Good value. Perfect.
The best vegee burger ever!!
Will definitely return.
I appreciate the flavors, texture, creativity, yum!! Thank you, Chef, for being so considerate to us vegetarians.
Great menu and value. Good selection of wines and fun share plates. We had the burger which was perfectly cooked which came with delicious hot fries. Chicken dish was plentiful and moist with crispy skin, just the way I like it. The butternut squash fries were my favorite along with an amazing Char sashimi (which is our favorite fish). Ice cream sundae for dessert!!!! Perfect. Fun cool vibe.
The food was awesome and worth the wait. We will be back!
Went for Restaurant Week appetizer+entree lunch. Salads were enormous and delicious. We had the chicory greens and celery root salads. Entrees were also delicious. I had the cornmeal crusted game and my friend had the veggie burger. We had a quiet table in the back but the rest of the restaurant was quite noisy. Service was wonderful. Avery nice place overall.
Food was excellent. Although, I did not love the lemon lime tart dessert. Our server, who I think was 'Jeremy' was attentive and informative. I am looking forward to going back and trying a few more items. Had the brussels sprout pizza, the ricotta appetizer and the leek appetizer.
I cannot say enough good things about Loring Place. I met a good friend for lunch there after it had been recommended by several friends, including her. Loring Place gets everything right. The food is delicious- I had the kale salad with sweet potato and apple with an amazing yogurt poppy seed dressing, which was perfect. Then I had to the veggie burger which was the best I’ve ever had, really flavorful and with great texture, not mushy like some veggie burgers tend to be, and with a satisfying little crunch on the exterior. They treated us to the beet salad which was really really good, a little orange, a little ginger, a little cashew, everything subtle as it should be. The space itself is lovely, minimalist but warm and inviting. What really stayed with me is the staff - they are the most professional, gracious and welcoming I have come across. I can’t wait to go back. Bravo.
Service was GREAT. Food very tasty. Pizzas are a must-try. “Signature” cocktails not especially dynamic—tasted more like juice than carefully mixed cocktails.
