   We were so looking forward to our meal at Loreto. Unfortunately our expectations did not meet our reality. One of the members of our party had a soy allergy. When we ordered we were assured this wouldn't be a problem and that as the dishes were brought out we would be told which dishes had soy. The server who brought the dishes was not the same as our waiter and did not know and had to go back to the kitchen to ask, at which point they returned and told us but did not bring any serving utensils. When they brought serving utensils after being asked, they only brought two, even though there were more than 2 dishes and we were trying to avoid cross contamination due to the allergy and did not want to use the same utensil for multiple dishes. The staff seemed bothered that we would ask for more. Whenever we needed something or wanted to place another order of a dish, we found it hard to get people's attention. Given the expense we were surprised by the lackluster service and do not plan on returning.

   The food is next level. Cocktails delicious. Beautiful interior. One of my go-to places.

   Always a great experience! The food is delicious and the cocktails are too. My only suggestion would be to add specials or change the menu. I would love to try new items as I dine there often.

   This used to be amazing. But the quality has gone down. We ordered oysters, ceviche, brussel sprouts, branzino, and desserts. The oysters weren’t shucked fully. The ceviche barely had any hamachi in it. Mostly cucumber and avocado. The branzino was meh. So sad.

   I was here for a birthday. I requested patio when I made my reservation. when we arrived they sat us inside, and said patio was unavailable since they had to accommodate a large birthday party. Told them I made the reservation weeks ahead and requested a patio for a birthday too but they were unwilling to try to accommodate us. (party of 7). There were multiple tables open and only few people seated. Why ask PATIO or INSIDE during reservation process if you’re not going to honor it? Anyway we didn’t want to make it too big of deal so we just ended sitting inside. The food here was great and the waitress was also great. The problem came at the end of the night. We got our bill $500+. But they had added a 3% credit card surcharge on the total. And then taxed the “surcharge” as well. Thats another (10.25% LA,CA) Having owned a restaurant, I called the waitress and asked about the surcharge since July of 2024, CC surcharge is illegal in state of California. (You food price should include all fees except tax. It’s part of the transparency pricing act) She just shrugged and said she will let the owner know and refused to take it off saying she couldn’t do anything about it even though she represented herself as the manager. Then she came back in 15 minutes and asked us to leave since she had another reservation waiting. What a way to ruin a birthday celebration (to be shoved out the door). Will not be recommending this place. Terrible business practice.. so unethical to be taxing a a fee that’s illegal to add to begin with. Then asking a customers to leave… if they had next reservation and they should have let us know when we were being seated. Which we would have been happy to comply with no negative feeling. Just felt like the whole experience was ruined by how everything was handled.

   The staff were very nice but a little slow overall. The bar service took a while, our wait staffer also was not as attentive as we would have liked and we waited a lot, and the coursing was kind of all at once. Something felt a little off but we will come back and try again.

   We started off with drinks. I had the pisco and my date had a beer. For small plates, we ordered oysters and the dragon fruit ceviche. The rock shrimp tostada is a must very good very flavorful for our main plate. We had the Bronzino also a very good plate, very filling. The rice could’ve been better. We were celebrating a birthday and they forgot. Over all it was a good experience. Our server was nice.

   We liked it so much we want back two days later with a group of friends. The cavatelli pasta and ceviches are so good. The food came out quick, the cocktails were amazing, and the service was incredible. Definitely will be going back quite frequently.
