Loquita serves authentic Spanish food including hot and cold tapas, wood-fired grilled seafood and meats, and seasonal paella. The Mediterranean climate and terroir of Santa Barbara County mirror that of Spain, making the translation of locally sourced produce, meats and seafood an ideal match. The wine list is comprised almost entirely of Spanish wines with exceptional local wines that pair well with the cuisine. Loquita's cocktail list showcases Spanish vermouths, farmers' market Sangria, hand-crafted cocktails and a rotating selection of Spain's king of cocktails, the Gin-and-Tonic. Down the hallway is Poquita, with displays of Manchego cheese, Manzanilla olives tapas, and pintxos (small bites). Loquita was awarded as one of USA Today's 10 Best New Restaurants for 2017 and delivers outstanding food, wine, cocktails and service.
Loquita, located on the corner of State and Yanonali, is truly a gateway to the Santa Barbara Funk Zone.

Loquita Ratings and Reviews
We went to Loquita for the first time for my birthday and had a lovely experience. I'm happy to be living in Santa Barbara again and will definitely return. I had a reservation booked for my birthday and they were thoughtful with a birthday card on the table before we sat and desert to finish. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was cooked perfectly with an excellent range of choice in flavors and options.
Lo Quita always delivers a high quality dining experience. The espanola tortilla, cauliflower and carpaccio dishes are exceptional.
I recommend dining outside. They have heaters, blankets and fireplaces to keep you comfortable if it’s chilly outside. A perfect evening.
Made a reservation on a whim. Never been. OMG was I glad I did. I have eaten at a lot of restaurants around the country. Fine dining to burgers on the street. I can honestly say that this place made its way into the top 5. We live about 45 mins away, was on an overnight trip with my wife. But planning to bring my 2 kids with us in a couple weeks for dinner. Worth the drive.
The cauliflower tapas was pretty much the best dish I’ve ever had!! Potatoes tapas was also delicious. The cocktail- worthy of trip back just for a drink. We had their bourbon take on old fashion and a lime infused gin and tonic. We will return again and again. Lovely patio, warm cozy with heaters and blankets. Felt like I was visiting Spain! So happy to have a new unpretentious dining spot. Staff was also very gracious
The service was excellent, although they surprisingly mixed up our reservation with another person. The food was hit and miss- some things, like the cauliflower, were out of this world! While other things, like the pan con tomate, were forgettable. Overall it was very enjoyable but I didn't necessarily feel that it was worth the price.
We tried this new place as it was close to the inn we were at. We also did not want a large meal so Loquita was the perfect solution! We loved the tapas and had no trouble finding several delicious vegetarian options. Our server was well versed in the menu and did not rush us, nor did he ignore us! We enjoyed sitting at the counter so we could watch the kitchen at work...that was entertainment in itself as we were impressed by the team work!
We'll definitely return as we visit Santa Barbara often.
Great place and exceptional service! The drinks were amazing to start and everyone was really nice! We enjoyed our waiter who was very kind and courteous and the service was top notch! The outdoor dining area was really nice as well. Great place for a date, friends' get-together or group dining in Santa Barbara!
The food was amazing! Every dish was delicious and designed for sharing. Best sangria I have ever had! The somellier Alejandro was a delightful charmer with extensive knowledge. Lively atmosphere with vintage silent Spanish dancing videos projected on the main wall. Bar was hopping and it appeared all of the menu, including the amazing paella, was available to order at the bar. Great “edge of the funk zone” location, also near the ocean. My new SB favorite!
This was an anniversary dinner...special card from Loquita at our table...server brought us two glasses of sparkling wine in honor our our special evening. Everything tasted delicious. The Spanish tortilla was excellent. The jamon sampler, cauliflower dish was amazing as well as the pork belly with mushrooms, lettuce leaves with an aioli sauce. I have been telling everyone they must go have dinner at Loquita. It is not inexpensive but worth every bite. I plan on having the paella the next time we go.
Excellent service and exceptional, delicious food. Loved the ambiance of the outdoor seating with heaters, lights, and setup. Really the only downside is the very small portions and the high pricing on everything ($4 sodas, tiny appetizer type tapas that can be $4 each, etc).
Other than the big tab, we really enjoyed our dinner here. Highly recommended if service, ambiance, and flavor are tops on your list.
We started out with the white anchovies (spectacular), then an off the menu green beans (I could have eaten 2 orders!) after that a combo charcuterie (3 cheeses, 3 meats, apricots & nuts and a most delicious glazed tortilla-like flat bread). Along with a couple of glasses of Shiraz our meal was complete but unfortunately we were too full for entertaining dessert! We will be back for sure!!! Sean our waiter was quite knowledgeable and informative while Skyler the manager took the time to chat with us about the recipes his team had just brought from a tasting trip in Spain, yes the food is authentic.
Absolutely amazing from start to finish. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Four of us shared 7 different dishes and two desserts. Every single thing was spectacular. There is clearly so much thought put into the layering of flavors to create the perfect bite. The cauliflower, carpaccio and octopus were my favorites. So happy to have this wonderful restaurant in Santa Barbara.
