Lovely ambiance, attentive and delightful service, and delicious flavorful food!
Everything was wonderful. Tried their plate with raw meat, something I never eat, and it was delightful. They treated my husband and I wonderfully. I appreciated the live opera.
The staff is very professional, knowledgeable & friendly. Whether you like traditional Italian meals (lasagna, veal scallopine) or prefer more creative (butternut squash ravioli, ahi mediterranea- with hummus, bread crisps & olives) the menu has a lot to offer. If you are a chocolate lover, order the Maria dessert with Gianduja chocolate.
The holiday decorations are beautiful & it is situated on a corner with glass windows so you get to enjoy the view.
Best overall restaurant in Long Beach.
Amazing shrimp cocktail, almost a meal. Lovely entree's although sauces are a bit on the heavy side. Food quality and taste was excellent. The restaurant has the feel of New York or Chicago. Located in the downtown area of Long Beach. Valet parking is available. Reservations a must.
Authentic Italian restaurant with an extensive wine list. If you order red wine, ask for one stored in the cellar. The ones in the restaurant are too warm.
Tina our server was wonderful. WOW white a glamours evening. L’Opera is our Holiday go to place.
Always my first choice when dining in Long Beach and has been for more than 20 years. I have never had a less than stellar experience there.
Service was great...good italian food...a nice time with family.
Scott never disappoints. He arranged for a special menu to celebrate our anniversary. It was amazing!
Still strong after all these years. Homemade pasta's that remind me of Italy. Beautiful space manned by very sharp staff.
Good food, good service. We’ll definately come back
Excellent service. Always delicious food, prepared in most flavorful way.
Superb as always!
Lovely atmosphere, interesting menu, good food and good service...just try it!
L’Opera was recommended to us through the Schwag app via the Long Beach Holiday Inn. It was spot on in giving us a great place to dine for a special evening. The food was fabulous and the serve was first rate!
Staff very accommodating for our celebration of my wife's birthday.
Our party had a wonderful time! The food and service was exceptional! My husband enjoyed his birthday dinner very much!
When I worked in Long Beach a few years ago, my wife and I would dine at L'Opera on special occasions, such as Valentines Day. We had not been there in a few years. When they announced a Veterans Day special, we thought it was time to return. The place remains an excellent restaurant. Our orders were well prepared and visual delights. We both commented that we should not have waited so long to return.
We took our Colorado, Canadian and Australian business associates out for a team meeting. We have been to L’Opera before and knew it would be terrific. It lived up to our expectations. Thank you, L’Opera.
Scott went above and beyond to make our evening absolutely perfect!
Have considered this a Long Beach gem for many decades and it was my first choice for "meals to impress". Recent visit may have been with 3rd chair chef on a Monday night--nothing that wow'd my taste buds and plated presentation was not crisp (almost "sloppy"). My cannelloni was dried out and dense--after a long wait for the arrival of the entrees did not want to send back and delay/distract the course of business conversation. Many more vegan choices than in past. Guest's lasagna was atypical--with fresh tomatoes on side & not in layers of pasta. Wine list and choices were exceptional. Continue to Love the art deco setting and corner table that impress guests as well as the Perfect ambience and cleanliness.
The food was fantastic. Atmosphere was excellent.
L’Opera’s chicken lasagna is outrageously good! The shrimp cocktail to start, succulent and fresh. This diner’s favorites
I love this place and try to visit often. I have never been disappointed and usually they exceed my expectations!
I made a reservation within 15 minutes of arriving at the resturant. I don't often dine alone, but the minute I walkied in, the waiter appeared and said has anyone said hello to you yet? Turned out the waiter Scott served me for dinner and offered exceptional service, plus guided me in a selection between two entres. The dinner was delicious. It isn't inexpensive, but for a special dinner or occasion I would highly recommend it. I could hear other diners raving about their choices as well.
Always our go-to restaurant for special occasions but this time it was not made as special as in the past. It may just have been a quiet Sunday evening but ‘our’ waiter in the past, John, added to the wonderful experience. John was not there that night. Maybe our expectations were simply too high.
This is the kind of restaurant you go to again no questions asked because there is so much more you want to taste and experience.
Outstanding food. We were impressed. Food was just to die for. We’ll be back.
Every bite was exquisite. I will definitely return. Tiramisu is made in house and is divine.
The service was outstanding and the food excellent.
Nice restaurant. Decor good. service good. Food good - except I swear the pasta served with my escallopine was tinned spaghetti! If I'm wrong, please correct me, as the rest of the meal was excellent.
This was not my first time dining here, but it had been a while. The food was wonderful. Our server was friendly. The ambiance is lovely. One of my dinner companions said it was the best lasagna he had ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We very much enjoyed our evening with friends. The lasagne Ragu was excellent! Super fresh ingredients made for a dish with homemade quality. The dessert made with pineapple was super yummy, and the Fresh squeezed lemon drop martinis were the icing on the cake
The dinner was fine. We expected it to be a little pricey and it was but not too bad. My wife had a glass of wine (I had a sip) that was excellent. She had the risotto and I had the veal. They were both very good. The waiter was very good. The dessert was very good. We had a nice time. But we are not part of the 1% so for us it has to be a very special occasion for us to spend this much.
Anniversary
L'Opera has become my "go to restaurant" whenever I am in Long Beach. This time I was there on a weekend and found out why it is named L'Opera. There was a lovely opera singer who dazzled the patrons with both classic opera and Broadway standards. The food was superb as always, but the extra effect of the opera singer made the night very special.
We love L'Opera! The lasagna is the best! We just went for our anniversary celebration and we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff is friendly 👍and very accommodating. Thank you L'Opera, we will be back!
Amazing experience. Servers were great. Food was amazing. 10:10
Great food as always and the service was very good too!
This restaurant is amazing. From your first step in the door, it is ALL about the customer.
Great food; great service; reasonable price (for Long Beach).
Tops on my list!
