Celebrating over 27 years of award winning classic & modern Italian cuisine! Owner Terry Antonelli believes in a warm and elegant approach to fine dining. Chef Walter Cotta shops at local farmer's and produce markets throughout the week to insure the best quality ingredients. Our pastas, raviolis, bread, sauces and desserts are homemade. His menu also includes a number of vegan and gluten free items that are sure to please all palates. All of our beef is certified Sterling Silver. For lunch, dinner or a private event, L'Opera is a must!

We had Alex (with long hair) as our waiter, on Valentine's Day. He took care of business, to say the least. The wine he recommened paired very well with our Ravioli (braised beef). He took the time to get to know us, but never neglected his other tables. He introduced the head cook to us, who deserved our "thank yous". The Raviolis were light, as a fresh Ravioli should be, and the Bruschetta was tastefully balanced.

Sat in the wine cellar for Valentine’s Day. Not as nice as upstairs dining room. Main course took a really long time getting to us. It was pretty good food once it arrived though. Our server was apologetic and tried hard.

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day meal at this beautiful restaurant. From walking in to find the ceiling covered in Valentine balloons to being serenaded by the virtuoso, the night was very romantic and enjoyable. I had the Stracceti Manzo and my beautiful girl friend choose the Pollo Parmigiano. Both were cooked to perfection and the Dell' Opera and Tritata salads were nice lead-ins while Tiramisu was an excellent way to end this special evening.

Dining here is always enjoyable. The fact that they are able to pull it off on the busiest restaurant night of the year is nothing less than passion for excellent food and exceptional service.

Great time for Valentine's date lunch. The bill was about $350 with tip for two appetizers, 2 main courses, 3 glasses of red wine, 1 desert shared, 1 cognac (1738), and 2 expressos so for some this could be pricey. The low was we ordered medium New York strips that were not the best cut of meat and were not cooked to the standards of this scale of restaurant. Everything else was great. Hope this is helpful 🤓.

My wife requests her birthday dinner to be at L’Opera every year. They never disappoint. The food was exceptional and the service was fantastic. We love coming here.

The food here is solid, but very old fashioned. The menu and cooking seem stuck in the 80"s. Grandma may like it, but it's pretty dull and uninspired.

We've been to L'Opera many times and it is a solid "special occasion" place. Three of our four entrees were delicious (short rib ravioli, filet mignon, and chicken lasagna). One person had the New York Strip and it was overcooked. I'm sure the chef would have redone it but he didn't send it back. I thought the appetizers (fried calamari and steak tartare) were both just OK. I used to really love their fried calamari but it was not as good as I recall.

The server must have had too many tables, as she did not check on us much at all. I wanted to get more lemon wedges and marinara with the calamari, as I'm sure that would have improved it, but she never stopped by and asked how they were and I couldn't even catch her eye across the dining room. When she did stop by, she was pleasant and helpful, but service at a restaurant of this caliber should be attentive and it wasn't.

They did comp our desserts and corkage, which was very nice and not expected. Overall, we had a nice but not awesome experience. I'd go back again, but probably because I know they can do better from past experience.

Originally had reservation for six, had to adjust it due to others changing plans. Hostess was kind over the phone, two of us headed to the restaurant. We knew exactly what we wanted from their amazing menu. This is why we weren't swayed by the others in our party...
This is also why we didn't walk out when the hostess was snarky in person. Checked in approximately ten minutes early and was told that we would have to wait b/c we were early. She then referenced the earlier reservation for six...this was odd b/c she was so accommodating over the phone. Table after table was seated before us, some having reservations - others not having reservations. We were seated six minutes after our original reservation at an entertaining window seat. It was over a vent which she said would keep us warm. It did not, it blew cold air on us all dinner and we shivered. Didn't want to bother the hostess b/c who knows when we would be seated again and I desperately wanted my mushroom rigatoni entree and caprese appetizer. As I mentioned the seat was entertaining b/c of the multiple emergency vehicles during our meal, drunk downtown revelers and wedding reception guests.
We knew what we wanted and ordered once the server came to our table the first of five total times. 1) she took our order 2) she delivered red wine (friend said it was fantastic). 3) she delivered entrée 4) she delivered incorrect bill and 5) she delivered correct bill.
There was no 'table touch', we had more contact w/the bussers than our server. The busser would nod and smile but continued to refer to our server whom we did not see.
Both good and bad - I really wanted their Burrata and was disappointed to not get it but the bread is AMAZING. So good, I actually took some back to the lobby of my hotel to share w/the ladies that selected another restaurant to dine! I blamed them for the poor experience we had, perhaps if the six of us had showed up as originally planned - the staff would have valued us.

I don’t get to Long Beach often, but whenever I’m there I stop into L’Opera. Our party of six had to rush a little to make a show and the server did an excellent job of accommodating us. Our food orders spanned the menu, from pastas to seafood to pork...all excellent. Sorry we couldn’t stay longer.
