Great restaurant! Good and service were excellent.
Good customer service from our waiter
Wonderful service. Delicious food. Lovely chocolate strawberries to celebrate a birthday gal.
Great food and great service. Our server Josh was outstanding and took really good care of us. Can’t wait to return.
Fabulous everything. Love everything here.
Excellent service and food. What more could you ask for. All our dishes were made custom by their exemplary chefs. The wait staff was on point and knowledgeable. I would give Them 6 Stars if I could.
Celebrated an anniversary and appreciate the special dessert treat! Food was delicious and service superb! Still going strong 20+ years later...Highly recommend!
Great meal. Freshly made pasta, good appetizers, cocktails, and dessert. Service was excellent.
We had a very enjoyable evening, excellent food and great service.
The food was excellent and made for a wonderful date night! We’ll try and come back if we’re ever in town again.
Renewal of this fine restaurant is a great success. Well trained staff provided seamless but unobtrusive service. Food tasty and attractively presented. Highly recommended
Beautiful restaurant, food was incredible and the great service was personal. My favorite restaurant in Southern California
This is my favorite restaurant. The staff are all amazing and remember us and our names as soon as we walk through the door, we even get hugs. This place is like “Cheers”. The hostess is a delight! Riley at the bar is top notch! The owner is also wonderful. So glad you have reopened after a tough and very long year. Thank you for all the years of excellent service and superb food.
They need better ventilation for the grill.
The entire restaurant was smoked
Good service, great food decent portions, nice atmosphere
Excellent, we enjoyed everything. The chicken lasagna was outstanding !
It’s my first time and definitely I will be back soon.
Food took over 1 hour. The lamb was extremely over cooked despite the fact we asked for medium rare. But we were extremely hungry we didn’t feel like waiting another hour for new lamb. Place was nice and service was good, just extremely slow.
Ambiance is awesome!!! Nice relaxing dinner. Even though the restaurant was full with patrons the service was excellent. The food was to die for. Definitely recommend!!!!!
This restaurant was wonderful. We couldn’t eat the calamari due to the texture, but other than that the osso bucco and lasagna were great. Server was attentive and friendly and the ambiance was amazing.
Every bite was a delight. Very authentic Italian. My husband had the lasagna and it was outstanding! Beautiful occasion to have a reunion with old friends we had not seen in a long time.
It is wonderful to have L'Opera open again. It is one of our city's jewels. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. That said, they are a little understaffed. By the last couple of courses the service was slow. Didn't get an ordered glass of wine with the pasta course until the course was three quarters eaten. The salad was overdressed and the dessert to forever to arrive. At the same time we sat where we could see how hard our waiter was working. Still we love L'Opera and know they will work out the kinks.
L’Opera has been a Long Beach staple for 30 years. It is wonderful that they were able to rebound and rebuild from the past year affects of covid19. As well as the unfortunate destruction by the worst people during the protests.
The service was impeccable and the food was excellent. We’re happy to see they have a new happy hour menu but would be nice if they extend the time. Currently it’s only 4pm-5:30 pm.
Life music would be nice as well. And since this was a soft reopening perhaps those are things in the works.
What a wonderful welcome back! Friendly service, wonderful dinner! Will be back regularly for certain. You all are amazing!
The City of Long Beach is fortunate to have L'Opera back in our city. The restaurant is better than ever. And we will be back again, and again, and . . .
We went there, as we have in the past, for a special occasion. In this case, we both had our 75th birthday within a few days. Everything was up to the standard we expected, so it was a special evening.
We found L"Opera to be a oasis of great food, served by a friendly staff and the whole experience made our evening a fantastic success.
The quality of the food is excellent, the service is professional and timely and it has that upscale Italian appearance and ambiance.
Wonderful place for dinner with family before walking to the Terrace theater.
Absolutely delicious! My daughter is a vegan and their selection of vegan options was amazing for an Italian restaurant. The food was fresh, the flavors intense, and the presentation and service impeccable.
A definite must in Long Beach!
My Sisters, Cousin and I were in town for a conference on Saturday. I recommended La Opera for our dinner on Friday night. It was a of theit first night there. We arrived and were seated at a perfect table. Our waitperson was spot on with her service. We all ordered different entrees. I sent a note to my group about our experience. All voted 10 out of 10. We ordered the lemon dessert which was perfection
Great service and ambiance, good location and great food
Wonderful! Great food and service. A gentleman singing in Italian was ads a very nice touch!
Our friend told us it was an amazing place, and it was very good, but just not “all that.”
We have been dining at L'Opera about once a year for the last 30 years. We always ask our server for his/her food recommendations and have yet to be disappointed. Trust them for a wine pairing and order wine for each course. It's worth it! (Share a glass as we always do!) You will be served in the leisurely and unhurried Italian-style, so let them know if you're on a schedule.
A great place to dine. Our server April was outstanding and made our day for us. Highly recommend this restaurant!!👍🏿👍🏿
We celebrated my mom's 85th birthday and it was a memorable evening. The food and service were exceptional. There was an opera singer in the restaurant who was kind enough to sing happy birthday in Italian to my mom, which she loved. The whole evening was very special and we look forward to returning soon.
Our first time eating here and the night went off without a hitch. Service was top notch! The food was prepared with excellence. We were even given a table that presented as more of a private booth. As this was a special occasion, they were nice enough to present us with a couple little dessert extras as a gift. Nicely played!! To be honest, this isn't a cheap night out but with it being a special occasion for us, there wasn't an unexpected bill at the end of the evening. We will be back.
Great food and great location with charming atmosphere
It had been many years since my wife and I had been to L'Opera, maybe about 12 years ago. I've been wanting to go back but I couldn't remember if we liked the place or not. Below is a brief explanation of our meal.
My wife had the beef medallions and roasted potatoes and I had the ragu lasagna. My lasagna was good and it came out sufficiently hot. My wife's plate on the other hand looked like it had sat under a heat lamp for an hour. The potatoes on my wife's plate were not warm and they looked soggy. Her meat was cooked to her liking, and despite the good flavor, the steak was luke warm. I don't think we will be going back.
