Such a lovely place. Staff was awesome, food was fantastic, and the Italian singer blew me away! Worth every penny to visit!! Can’t wait to go back!
Even after almost 30 yrs, this restaurant delivers on quality and atmosphere. We had a delightful server that enhanced our visit catering to our individual needs and tastes. A few years back we had a less than stellar experience, but it seems the mgmt has self-corrected and. The restaurant is as good as it once was when it opened. We’ll be back as the location in downtown Long Beach is easily accessible
Food was awful and flavorless
The staff were great. The food was delicious. The alcohol beverages were effective. We had an outstanding experience.
L'Opera is always a delightful treat! The food is delicious and our regular waiter Alfredo is the best. The only reason I didn't rate the ambiance higher is because there were workers there taking down decorations and it was very distracting. We were nervous about stuff falling and the giant ladder hitting something. Nothing happened while we were there, but we were riveted on that action.
It seems the Restaurant keeping his images, and everything else, the food was good and the waiters are very good trained, I been in this restaurant 30 years ago, I use to work in Long Beach and every Friday night I use to visit the restaurant
Although it was New Years eve with high occupancy we were treated warmly with exceptional service. The party was great fun well hosted.
We went on New Year's eve and had a delicious meal. It was an understandably busy night so our dishes took a while to come out. Our server was ok, not very personable. The busser was great and attentive though. Our meals were flavorful and great quality. For the food alone, we will return.
New Years Eve early dinner. It was excellent although even with a reservation we waited 25 minutes to be seated. The volume was difficult but understandable it was a special evening.
We really enjoyed L"Opera for dinner on New Year's Eve. We didn't attend the party, but we enjoyed all the decorations, balloons, etc. And the singer! Wow, what a voice!
Food was delicious.
The restaurant was a short walk from our hotel, very convenient.
Most amazing dining experience ever!!
One of my favorite restaurants in Long Beach. Never disappoints. Pricy but worth it. There's a new dish on the menu. Don't remember the Italian name but it's veal cheek meat that's cooked for 24 hours and smothered with a chunky tomato sauce. It cuts with a fork and melts in your mouth. A winner! A nice touch at dinner is the fantastic strolling opera singer.
Excellent dining experience starting with the prosciutto appetizer to the filets and pasta dishes. Paired well with an Italian red recommended by our outstanding server Scott. Their Happy Hour is also one of the best in LB.
Our initial greeting from the host was very welcoming. She had wished the guest of honor happy birthday as we were walking to our table. Our server, who had never given her name to us, nor asked us how were doing thiat evening, nor wished a happy birthday, comes to our table and simply asks if she could get us anything to drink. Dinner progresses and food is ok. For being a higher end Italian restaurant I expected the flavors to really wow us. The homemade ravioli with gorgonzola cream sauce was your only winner on the table. Dessert comes a long and we get nothing to represent the guests Birthday. No comp for the dessert not even a candle. Mind you, we were only a two top. Our server gets busy with the typical dinner rush and a manager drops off our bill. We pay and head out the door and our only thank you and have a good night was from where it all began. The hostess.
We enjoyed our meal and our waiter was excellent!! What more can one ask for?
The food was delicious and our waiter helped us pick out a great chardonnay to go with it. Our favorite restaurant.
Excellent restaurant, go there every year Christmas Eve
Exception in all ways. Had no idea Long Beach had such a gem.
As always the dining experience, food and staff were all wonderful. Thank you! Love this place!! It’s “Cheers” if you’re a regular, everybody knows your name and makes you feel at home.
The experience and atmosphere was beautiful. The wait time was not to long. The food was delicious and the lady who served us was very sweet!
We were a party of 4 out to celebrate an early Christmas. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for the holidays. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Our food was outstanding. We just had an overall great experience and we will definitely be returning.
Loved it! Will definitely be back.
Excellent food, great Christmas ambience and stellar service. I can’t wait to go back!
Great dinner for anniversary!
I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. Food was amazing, service was great, and the restaurant is just beautiful. Highly recommend!
Everything was lovely. Great atmosphere, quiet enough to talk and we were not rushed. We enjoyed a 2+ hour lunch. The food is delicious, portions, generous and prices are in line with a finer dining establishment. Will go back. Highly recommend
It was a truly memorable experience -starting with the warm greeting from the Hostess ( who remembered us, even though it had been some time since our last visit -she made it feel like a homecoming ) our server, Alex, was upbeat , personable , and added a joyful tone to the meal -the cuisine was delicious (as was the artful presentation of the appetizer , entree and dessert ) All in all a night of fine dining in a magic envirnment-(loved our window seat -it was like our special alcove )
Wonderful experience and fabulous food presentation. Our server was so pleasant, funny and help with meal suggestions. Our meal was FABULOUS and never have had such a meal. Thank you L'Opera.
Excellent food -- better than I expected in Long Beach. Carpaccio, tuna tartare, salsiccia, risotto, ragu... everything was really nice. For a good wine that won't break the bank, choose the Côtes du Rhône. Great service.
Food and wine were delicous. Service was excellent and ambience was festive! A bit pricey but well worth it.
I enjoyed the butternut squash ravioli. Beautiful presentation and wonderful taste.
Great service, beautiful ambience and very good food. Just don’t get any of the specials I got a small piece of halibut and it was $48! Never imagined it would be that much but they don’t tell you the prices when they offer the specials. It was good but nothing exceptional. Perhaps go there for lunch and have their pasta. I have been there before and the pasta is a much better value.
Waiter was exceptional..... he made the amazing food more enjoyable
We went for my husband's birthday and the food and service were fantastic. Will be back soon.
Our server and sommelier Scott was at his usual wonderful self — courteous, efficient, knowledgeable and seamless in his service.
The scallopini piccata and rack of lamb were impeccable in taste and presentation.
The wine list was robust and Scott’s recommendations of wine pairing were spot on.
L’Opera keeps its perennial lofty perch for a very good reason.
We’ll be back repeatedly
Highly recommend this venue.
Our server was exceptional. Dishes were hit and miss; my risotto was missing salt and overall bland.
Seems like food was overpriced for what it was.
We had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and listening to the opera singer was really special
We have not been there for a couple of years. It was better than we remembered. The rack of lamb, butternut squash ravioli, filet with capers.........everything was perfect! The opera singer had an amazing voice, too. We will definitely return. It would be nice if they lowered their corkage fee from $15, their competition 555 Steak House across the street does not charge any corkage fee.
Amazing food! Fresh and good quality. My server made the experience even better! Will def come back
Great night! Delicious food and wonderful service.
