Everything was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
A true Italian restaurant, menu, ambience and central location - great for our meeting midway between OC and LA.
It was delicious.
Was disappointed in the food. The ambiance and service was great.
This is one of my favorite places. The staff is always great and the food never disappoints.
Consistently excellent food and service. You will be hard pressed to find better Italian food in Long Beach. And if, like me, you miss white tablecloth service and are tired of alarmingly loud restaurants than this is the place for you.
There is live opera music on the weekends, which really makes this place special!
We went to L’Opera for LBC restaurant week. Wow!!! It’s fabulous!!! The scallops were out of this world. We loved the sois vide steak. It absolutely melted in our mouths.
I will take my husband soon so he can enjoy it.
Our server Riley was superb.
It was a beautiful restaurant. Went for a girls night and we split a few appetizers and a couple entrees. The caprese and the butternut squash ravioli were to die for. Service was impeccable. Can’t recommend this place enough.
Had dinner on a Friday night. The food was okay, I had the 12oz flit Mingo and it was good but not great. For the price I was expecting a really great steak but it was okay and food took a while to come out. Waiter was amazing. Dessert was good had the il sigaro or something like that and it was delicious. Overall it was okay, would I go back probably not.
Our service was impeccable, the food delicious and great atmosphere. Classic feel. Our favorite part of our experience was the availability of vegan fare and a menu clearly noting what’s vegan. And our server was so attentive. Great experience!
Good traditional Italian fare and service in a beautiful room. The room buzzes and yet it is still easy to talk and hear each other around the table.
We had a booth for our party of 4. Waiter was very attentive, however, our appetizers (calamari) and two of our entrees needed to be returned because they were cold. That was a little disappointing.
Great Attentive Service & Nice Cheff
Outstanding food and service.
Things started fine with drinks and appetizers. But then waited 1h20min for main course My salmon was Raw in the center and my husband's lasagna just tasted weird - like the meat was off. They comped the main course but still a very disappointing evening
Great service and great tasting food! The Maria dessert was so good !
This was a disappointing dinner. No one was at valet parking so we parked blocks away, the calamari arrived almost cold, the waiter was more interested in exchanging stories with other diners than bringing us our orders, the room was very noisy and the veal was dry and tough. Not likely we will return anytime soon. A major let-down for my wife and me.
Great food. Meatballs were awesome. Waiter was a lot of fun!
In Long Beach for a conference. Needed a nice place to take my colleagues. L'Opera was able to accommodate eight of us on less than a day's notice. Sure it was Wednesday night but still. Loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious. My rigatoni was cooked inconsistently (some of the pasta was al dente, some was undercooked) but informed our server, who corrected the issue immediately. Indeed, as wonderful as the food and ambience were, the star of the show was our server. Service was outstanding! Just wish I could remember his name. Next time I'm in Long Beach, I'll definitely dine at L'Opera again.
I have never been here before, and it was so highly rated I really thought I would be in for a treat. I took my cousin who is from out of state here and both of our entrees tasted so foul, we honestly tried to eat as much as we could (which wasn’t a lot) just so they would clear our plates. Normally I would instruct the server of the poor quality, but he was so sweet and genuinely a kind person I did not feel the urgency to have him scramble to fix the situation. The cost was so high for such a low quality meal. I work in the food and beverage industry and would be appalled to know I had served such a disgusting dish. Seriously? It was over $70. Such a waste of money. But again I stress, the server was amazing. I forget his name, and I’d love to give him credit. It started with an M? Last name with a B I think.. he was phenomenal, food was NOT. Such a bad way to end a hard work day. :)
As always, L'Opera was the perfect place to celebrate a late Valentine's Day as well as our Wedding Anniversary. Though it was crowded due to a convention in town, and us having to wait for about 30 minutes to get our table (which we easily enjoyed at the bar), we were treated wonderfully and in a very entertaining way by Scott.
My wife enjoyed the Cocktail Di Gamberi (Tiger Shrimp) Appetizer as well as Manicotti Melanzane (Vegetarian Eggplant Dish) while I devoured the ham & cheese appetizer and the Venison (a special from their Valentine's menu). Everything was delicious, paired with Prosecco and Chianti Classico.
L'Opera remains our first choice for special occasion dining.
My girlfriend and I went there for a late Valentines dinner. Better than excellent!!!!
This place NEVER disappoints! If you’re looking for a fun, yet classy place to enjoy a fabulous meal served by a group of great people, this is it!
Romantic Engagement Anniversary celebration!
Loved the delicious food, wine, opera serenade and ambience! Romantic and memorable after many other previous dinners there! Loved it and look forward to next time!
The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.
However, It was crowded and loud and service was a touch slow. Possibly due to it being especially busy
This is only the third time here over a period of 20 years. The food, the wait staff & management is still as friendly & attentive as the first time we visited. The food is absolutely fabulous. My husband had the pork chop & is still raving about it. I had the Cioppino, yum. Love the location, the beautiful seating, the tall windows & ceiling. Now if we only lived closer so we could go more often.
My first time was on Valentine's Night. The place was packed, but the service was still impeccable. The bartender (for wait time drinks) served us quickly. Then the hostess and wait staff were amazing. Topped off with the wonderful opera singer that walked around from table to table. We ordered the Chicken Marsala and Cioppino, with the bread to die for. Overall we had an amazing experience, and thank you to all the staff of L'Opera for that!!!
My husband I celebrated Valentines here. Terrific Long Beach restaurant that lived up to its storied reputation. Highly recommend.
Everything was perfect the only weird thing is they have some odd table arrangements which have you sitting next to each other staring out of the group of people.
Excellente. Never disappoints. My wife was amazed. This will be our regular spot
Normally, we LOVE L'Opera but decided we will no longer use it for our traditional Valentine's Day dinner. Too crowded, noticeably understaffed, and very noisy. More like a wedding reception than a dining establishment. It's great all other times of the year, just not Valentine's Day.
Busy night, the crowd was handled excellently, packed house. Servers all pleasant and efficient, and Sam- where else can you get good Opéra not only this night, but every weekend. Extremely handsome doorman this night!
Excellent ambiance and food highly recommend. Price is on the higher end but well worth the cost.
Great evening food was excellent my first time visiting. Decorations and the live singer made for a very romantic and special evening.
Loved our server, April.
I took my partner there for Valentines Day and was very pleased with the evening. Excellent service, food and wonderful ambiance. The only negative was all the construction going on outside in downtown Long Beach, but that is no fault of L’Opera. It was a wonderful evening
Best authentic Italian place to eat around . !! Great wine, great calamari , great steak, great salmon. Best salmon I've ever had period . La Dolce Vita
The drinks are always great here. The issue started with the sommelier smug responses to not knowing some of the wines they had. Then both entrees came out and the lamb was over cooked and under seasoned. They took it back and it was almost 30 minutes before they came out with my entree... 15 minutes longer than it took to come out the first time! My dinner companion had already completed their meal and so I had to ask for the meal to go. I asked for a manager and I got attitude and not even an apology was offered. When I got home it was raw and over-salted. The only reason I would recommend this place is because in 15 years this is the first time I have ever had an issue. I can only hope this was a one off because if it happens again I won't be back.
Service was spot on. Our server knew his menu from top to bottom. Place was clean and classy. Good size crowd, but not over crowded. Not too quiet, but not too noisy. I was able to talk to my wife without yelling. Prices were easy on the pocket and the food was delicious. We’ll be back in future.
