We've been here about 8 years ago, and it was fabulous. It was one of the reasons we chose Park City for our ski trip this season. It was, back then, the best on-mountain dining we've ever experienced. So we were excited when we were able, days before our trip, to book the Lookout for lunches on Tuesday and Friday of our stay the last week of the resort season. Then we arrived on-time (not the easiest thing to coordinate when skiing such a large resort) for our Tuesday reservation, only to find the restaurant had closed. The note wasn't specific, but it appeared they were closed for the season. We had received an automatic email confirmation only the day before! We were bummed to say the least. In order to submit this review, I had to assign ratings to the Food, Service, Ambience, etc. I went middle of the road on everything except service (poor communication) and ambience (breathtaking views).
Can’t beat the view and surprise!!! The food is good too. This is a “must” for anyone skiing the Canyons.
Delicious food, incredible view, and great service! Our group of four has a wonderful time at Lookout Cabin. The views are amazing. We always sit on the deck to take in the view and enjoy the sun. The short ribs, fondue, and truffle macaroni were all delicious. The service was great. We look forward to dining here again next winter.
Great food after a morning of skiing. Was excellent
Great food and service. Amazing view. Took great care of us!
We love this restaurant and eat here for lunch every year on our annual visit to the Canyons. Food is always good and you can beat the amazing views!
What a pleasant find mid-mountain at the Canyons. They were very accommodating when it came to mixing up the menu. I asked them to add shrimp to the mac and cheese and they did not bat an eye. It was over the top.
Good view on the mountain at the Canyons, and really good hot chocolate, too. Service is good, too. This was our second visit this trip. First time, we were told we could sit at the bar since we did not have a table reservation. The restaurant had still not filled up an hour later when we were done with lunch. The Thai chicken salad was good, though. On the second visit, we had a reservation and a great view. The Thai Curry daily soup special was delicious, as were the mussels, but the shrimp and grit were not. The large shrimp were over cooked and tough, while the grits were undercooked and gritty. Go for the view, but the food is overpriced.
Our favorite on mountain dining anywhere.
Food great. Service that particular day was terrible.
Lookout is our absolute favorite place to eat while out on the mountain. The food is consistently delicious, the staff is gracious and kind, and the ambiance can’t be beat. The chef often creates different specials that we like to take advantage of because they are always tasty, but there isn’t a bad choice on the menu. I recommend hitting it up for a late lunch to avoid the crowds and end the day on a high note.
Great lunch! Great location.
Best food on the mountain.
Burgers were delicious. French fries were soft and soggy. Would still come back.
Best on mountain cocktails on PC
Probably the most expensive restaurant on the mountain but by far the best and BEST VALUE.
Perfect place to stop for lunch without the crowd. Excellent food and service.
Great views, service and food!
Skiing with friends. Fabulous lunch break with beautiful views. The macaroni and cheese was incredible as was the fondue. Best craft cocktail in park city
Really nice spot with great food and gorgeous views. Reservations a must.
Favorite lunch place on the mountain. Took me a couple of years to realize it was there... it is at the half way point on the orange bubble.
View is amazing. Food is a bit overrated and overpriced, but served by a very friendly staff. That said, fondue appetizer was never put in the system, piece of salmon on salmon salad was surprisingly small compared to the three others we saw served, and had to ask three times for more ketchup. Bloody Mary’s are the best ever. Recommend having a round while sitting around their toasty fire pits. Overall...view makes it worth a drink and appetizer outside.
I look forward to this lunch while we are out at the Canyons. We skied an extra day just to make lunch. If you are reading this review then you should know to make reservations, they fill up fast. We've enjoyed the shrimp appetizer, the chili and the fondue. Skiing out is a little challenge and not recommended for green skiers but worth it for those that can ski blues.
Our family of 5 made lunch reservations and we're not disappointed. Fondue at 8300 ft with a beautiful mountain view was a lovely break from skiing. We enjoyed the beer and wine options, and we each enjoyed the fondue and our lunch selections. Definitely a good find!
As a grown up family of 4 we arrived for lunch to a room half full. After some time we raised our hand and asked if we may order. One of staff finally came over and ina raised voice told us they were busy and we would have to wait. We didn’t have another option so we persisted. Finally small over priced meals arrived. No apology was offered. For the first time on our trip in the US we left with out leaving a tip. A very discouraging experience full stop. This is THE FIRST NEGATIVE REVIEW I HAVE EVER LEFT FOR A RESTAURANT!!
Best food on the Canyons Mountain.
Service incredibly slow (25 mins to get water glasses filled, well over an hour to get food).
Recommend the fondue and the Apple Pie drink
Very much enjoyed, but food was a little off this time. Had spareribs and they were 50% fat.. salad was great
