The food is always top notch at the Lonnie's. I did not like the first entree (the chicken was not to my liking) and they bought out the beef wellington instead. It was great! The Creme Brulee was EXCELLENT!
OUTSTANDING! The best anniversary. Where to start?! The service, the food, and most importantly the entertainment was phenomenal. Josh our server was excellent. He catered to all our requests and even gave us complimentary desserts and provided a tasting of different liquors to choose from for our cocktails. The three course dinner selection was sensational. All the food was prepared perfectly and plenty of it! Last, the real star was Lonnie and his jazz band. Such talented performers. Lonnie is an amazing representation of a KC artist. He danced, sang, and played the trumpet for almost 3 entire hours!! We didn’t want it to end. Even during the intermission Lonnie spent his entire break walking around the audience talking to people. I’m so glad we found this jazz lounge. We can’t wait to return. A must see for KC.
The entire experience was terrific. I’d never been to a dinner club, and I’m not a jazz fan, but the thing is that Lonnie and his band are ENTERTAINERS. They mixed jazz and soul and storytelling and dancing into a gloriously fun immersive experience. No one was left out and everyone there was into it! The drinks were delish, the food was excellent, and the service was thoughtful and attentive. I can’t recommend highly enough!
Excellent entertainer! I would highly encourage Lonnie's show to anyone visiting Kansas City - he, his band, and his staff are the absolute best!
Fabulous, loved the tap dancing, story telling, and the last song, with the Louie Armstrong . Great, Great, Great
A KC must-see. Lonnie is tops when it comes to jazz and entertainment. Get the beef Wellington!
Food was good but cold. Service was slow. Lonnie was great! Will definitely be back to hear Lonnie.
This dinner was definitely an experience! Loved the energy of Lonnie and the band. A must see if in Kansas City.
Lonnie's Reno Club is a total experience. From the dinner to the music, you are definitely in for a wonderful evening. I will definitely go again.
Absolutely amazing show! An unbelievable value. Lonnie has too be, not only one of the most talented but also, one of the most energetic and enjoyable performers I’ve ever seen. I’m going back soon for Motown Night!
We loved our date night at Lonnie’s Reno Club. Lonnie is a fantastic entertainer and talented musician. Would definitely recommend!
If you are looking for a great experience, this is the place. A throwback to the great days of Kansas City Jazz, Lonnie's club hits the mark. The food is excellent, the wait staff is awesome and there aren't enough characters left to adequately describe Lonnie and his special brand of entertainment. This is a do not miss night if you are from out of town or a local.
We drove 2 1/2 hours yesterday to go to Lonnie's Reno for my birthday and they did not disappoint!! Lonnie and the band were magnificent. They played for 3 hours minus the break where Lonnie went around the room TO EVERY TABLE and greeted everyone, posed for pictures, chopped it up, etc. He did personal shout outs as well. Listen, the pianist is SICK! The bass player, the drummer - NICE and then there's Lonnie... INCREDIBLE. What can't he do?
All I can say.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience and we will be going back again soon.
Oh and the wait staff was on point as well. The food is good.
Didnt care for the food to much. Should have been way better for the price you pay. I really enjoyed Lonnie and his band.
Lonnie's show was very energetic and entertaining. There was great jazz, storytelling and a wonderful guest artist. The service staff was very attentive to the tables while not interrupting enjoyment of the show. The intimate jazz club feel was great. Dinner was great but a little too petite.
Absolutely loved this and will 100% be going back. Lonnie puts on a great show. It was so much fun and worth every penny.
Champagne Cocktails handed to you at the hostess desk as you arrive....an awesome way to start your evening. Good food. Great entertainment. Lonnie did songs from Charlie Parker, Count Basie, the Beatles, the Commodores and kept the energy high. He even tap danced! Find a reason for a special occasion and take yourself to the Reno Club. You'll love hearing the history of the first Reno Club and the early days of KC jazz.
You couldn't ask for a better show! Lonnie is a fantastic performer and the venue is perfect for the crowd size and the type of show he performs. Energy is unmatched and there is nothing else like it in the city. Whatever cocktail you are given upon arrival is the best champagne-based drink I've had in a minute. Kudos for setting the tone for the evening when you walk in the door! The service is impeccable--serves work really hard to make you feel tended to/special. The food, however, could be improved upon. The portions are really small--just enough to absorb the alcohol. You will need a snack right after the show (after spending over $200)-- seriously. My beef dish was excellent, but it was literally the size of a toddler's palm. My boyfriend's salmon was the same size and lacked any type of seasoning. Sadly, if you don't eat beef or fish, you have no other options for the $85 dinner.
If you are looking for a good show, good music, good food, and the perfect ambiance this is the place to be! My husband and I will definitely come back!
You will have one of the best KC nights EVER at Lonnie's!
Lonnie is an outstanding performer and engages the audience beautifully. He represents Kansas City and the real supper club jazz scene! The food was outstanding. five stars on the whole experience.
Lonnie is amazing, providing an evening of entertainment that has no comparison! Definitely would see him again!
Do yourself a favor and go to Lonnie’s Reno Club. It’s an exceptional experience, that is truly, uniquely Kansas City
Lonnie McFadden is many things: entertainer, band leader, jazz trumpeter, tap dancer, singer, songwriter, and recording artist - but another most befitting title is historian.
Lonnie’s Reno Club, a homage to speakeasies of the past, comes alive each weekend as Lonnie and his quartet take you on a trip from the hard-swinging, bluesy transition style of Basie to the bebop style of Kansas City’s own Charlie Parker … … and everything in between and after!! You are in for an evening that covers it all; along with the best part, Lonnie’s stories of the history and heyday of the Kansas City music and jazz scene.
Classy fun club for good food and entertainment!! Lonnie and his band are always enjoyable to watch.
How refreshing in this world today to dine and be entertained in this classic environment. Welcome champagne cocktail, 10 stars.
Polite and engaging service, 10 stars. Small menu which I think helps them maintain quality 10 stars.
Lonnie McFadden 100 stars.
You picked the right gentleman to present in this timeless venue.
We had the best time and the experience totally met our expectations!
We had such a great time, were totally entertained Vegas-style, loved music selection for Summer of Soul. Lonnie's daughter Chloe wowed us! Food was very good especially the fried green tomato appetizer. YUM! It's a pretty small space but on a Thursday night, not crowded. Space between tables made us feel quite safe. I kept thinking of people I needed to share the experience with the whole time. Definitely a place to return to for a special night!
The evening was awesome. The food was excellent, the ambiance was perfect for the entertainment and the service was exceptional. Lonnie and his band were great! A perfect birthday occasion.
This is a once in a lifetime experience. Pleass GO.
Is it. His energy that he brings to his craft?
Is it his love of entertaining?
Is it his beautiful renditions?
Is it his kick a!! Band?
Is it his trumpet and vocal skills?
Is it his extraordinary range of musical performances and songs?
Is it his tap dancing that takes you back to another time?
Is it an exquisite venue at the Reno club?
Is it a great meal?
Is it the best show west of Europe if not east of Europe?
Is it his stories that make you proud of living in Kansas City and having such great entertainment at your doorsteps?
It is all of the above.
We are blessed that Lonnie calls Kansas City home
Must see show - one of the best anywhere

Having visited four times now I’ve sampled almost everything on pre-fix menu and can say you can’t go wrong with anything you choose. My favorites: Appetizer - Shrimp Cocktail, Main Course - Beef Wellington, Dessert - Creme Brulee along with a delicious cup of The Roasterie coffee.
if you find yourself in KC, go to Lonnie's Reno club for a night of Entertainment! You will not be disappointed.
This club is like a throwback to old Kansas City days. Lonnie McFadden is truly a treasure. I have followed him for years! This club, the atmosphere, the fine dining and Lonnie’s band Makes this one of the most enjoyable places you can go in the city. His knowledge of the history of jazz, his tap dancing, his velvet voice, his work on the horns are beyond amazing. But… Lonnies amazing personality is what really shines. You can feel his true joy and soulfulness a
In every note he plays. This is a true do not miss!!!
I can’t remember the last time all four of us had as great a time! Lonnie was joyful and the club was fantastic.
Lonnie is not just a performer, he is an entertainer!!! His energy is catching, flowing out to the audience pulling them in! He is fabulous!! Love the ambiance and service. The beef Wellington was delicious and the desserts were amazing!! In less than a week I’ve already told a dozen friends they have to see this show!! We’ll definitely be back!!!
My daughter and I thouroghly enjoyed the mouth watering food.....
