Longhi's - Wailea Ratings and Reviews
Although the front desk greeter was friendly, I'm not sure that our server had a personality. He was very unexcited to have us dining with Longhi's. Seriously, not even a "Welcome to Longhi's" or a "Thank you for dining with us". Management really needs to address their staff issues here. No one will return if the service is bad. It was clearly evidenced by the long waits at Tommy Bahama's and Ruth Chris's. Longhi's was dead. Management should ask why or get out of the space.
Unfortunately the food was not up to par. We ordered the caprese salad and the tomatoes were not fresh, the mozzarella cheese did not taste good/no flavor, and the balsamic glaze tasted burnt. Also the bread it came with had no flavor. In addition the drink a friend ordered was not good as well. The ambiance was nice however we did not enjoy the food besides the complimentary bread on the table.
We were ending our christmas vacation in Maui and decided to try Longhi’s for our final evening. We ordered a bottle of Monsordo Rosso 2008 to start things off, which was perfect and then ordered our meals and appetizers. The Calamari Fritta and Ahi Sashimi was great. My wife had the eggplant parmigiana which she thought was really good. My son and I ordered the Pasta Putana and my daughter ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese. My daughters meal was just ok, however the Pasta Putana was not very good at all. The pasta was over cooked and I have had better tomato sauce from a jar purchased at a grocery store. My son found plastic in his pasta dish and Longhi’s replaced his meal and did not charge us for it which was very professional and appreciated.
I would strongly suggest ordering any other dish on this menu rather than the pasta as you will be extremely disappointed. They need to teach the cooking staff how to cook pasta al dente and how to make a decent pasta sauce and I really believe that this would be a really nice place to enjoy an evening dinning out.
The server was extremely nice and tried her best to make our evening go as well as she could despite the issues we had with our meals, she even offered us free desserts which my daughter and son took her up on.
Came here around 7:45pm on a Friday night and was seated immediately. They weren’t too busy with the exception of a few large noisy parties. It took quite a long time for a server to come over and take our order, as well as a long time to get our food, but the food was delicious!
We went early on New Years Eve. Server was less than excited to see us. Did not really have any recommendations based on a couple of choices. Table looked at parking lot by condo. All the patio tables sit on the parking lot. Upstairs at Tommy Bahama you look at the space between you and the condos not the cars so a bit better feel if you are on patio. Tommy B also has entertainment to distract you. Fish special was good not great.
just an average meal. Im looking for more than that at the price pooint.
Christmas Eve. Waiter clean forgot to bring the salad ordered. Ordered the Ahi medium. It came out very rare, but the chef put it under the heat lamp to cook it. Told the waiter about it and he said that’s what the chef did. If you screw it up, admit it and fix it. Don’t try to hide it and sneak it past me.
Will never go there again. Dishonest.
We had a reservation and were seated promptly . Water and bread were brought to the table but we were over looked by a server until we inquired who our server was ? The food was expesive and not tasty . We dine out frequently and are not opposed to paying for a great meal ..... this however was not even a good meal . We enjoyed our server and adult beverages .
Food is very rich. Cooked with too much fat. Waiter was not engaged. I asked if one order of asparagus would be enough for a family to share. He was non commital so we got two orders. Unbelievable how much we had. No half sizes no kids menu. Don’t recommend for kids.
We love this place, always return when in Wailea both for breakfast and dinner. Food is great. The cinnamon roll at breakfast is fantastic and their fresh fish at dinner is always delicious. My only complaint is they should ask if you want nuts piled on certain dishes and, although the bread they serve is delicious, half has jalapeño peppers on it. Not everyone loves that.
The food was ok, we selected this spot because we had eaten here the last time we visited Maui. There wasn't this wow factor to the food, the waiter was very evasive, not too attentive, not that we wanted hovering, but just an occasional check in on us. There's potential to be great but as of now, I probably will not come back.
We were a bit apprehensive at first, but our server, Tamara, who is one f the best, friendliest we've ever had, put us at ease with her warm and friendly nature. She gave us great service and her suggestions were great, as it turned out. We had the seafood platter for 2. For what we got, it is all we needed as it was plenty big for the two of us. Tamara advised us that we wouldn't need an appetizer (since we asked) and we had no room for desert.
I want to go back as I went in with my mind set on the Ahi au Poivre.
