We really enjoyed our dinner! We had a great waiter Forrest. He was very good.
Let me begin by saying our server, Sydney, was the only saving grace for this restaurant. When we arrived at 6:40, we were told they were fully booked for the night. I opened my Open Table app and discovered Longhi’s had a table for 4 available at 7. I made the reservation, which required a credit card number to hold the table. When we arrived at the front station we were told that our reservation would not be honored because we had already been told the restaurant was full. We pointed out that we now had a reservation, and were begrudgingly seated, in an area obviously not normally used for service. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly, prompt and gracious. No bread on the table… in an Italian Restaurant! The shrimp was overcooked. The steak was unseasoned. The mashed potatoes were cold. No fresh parmesan… at an Italian Restaurant. The bathrooms were filthy. Avoid this place. Or make reservations on Open Table just to make them mad.
Open air dining at a reasonable price. Great food and service. Highly recommend!
Two of our meals were not very good, the salad was Good. The third meal good. Very inconsistent. Service was great, our was wonderful. We wouldn’t go back though.
My wife and I made a 5 pm reservation to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. When we showed up early at 4:45, the restaurant was just 15% full at most. There were 9 nice, round tables along the perimeter of the restaurant with 2 of them occupied by two other couples. The hostess led us to sit at a small wood table up against a column. When I asked her if we could sit at one of the larger, round tables which were in a better location, she said no! I then asked her why there were two couples already sitting at 2 of the 9 tables but we were not allowed to sit there. She replied "well, they had reservations and they came early". To which I replied, "well, I also have a reservation and I came early". She still said firmly NO, saying they had over 240 people that wanted to have dinner with them that evening and they were going to be busy. This resistance to a simple request put a damper on our entire evening. When we left the restaurant at 6:45 pm, 6 of the 9 tables that they had refused to sit us at remained empty. Also, never once did they wish us a Happy Anniversary or do anything special to commemorate it, even though I put it in our reservation notes. I do not plan to dine at Longhi's again or to recommend it to anyone coming to Maui for a special occasion.
This restaurant is a tourist trap. Terrible quality food and extremely overpriced.
Don’t understand all the haters on this site we had excellent service despite being understaffed they all pitched in , all of our entree’s were delicious along with stuff drinks
Host didn’t even say a peep when we showed up. Just walked us to the table and didn’t say anything. Then a table next to us that showed up after was served drinks before we even were acknowledged. Once waiter came and took our drink order (15min later) everything felt cool until the food came.
One would think a $50 steak would have at least some flavoring. All you could taste was a burnt edges of the meat. Didn’t even want to test out the dessert menu. No wonder why the Lahaina location went out of business.
The older hostess is not welcoming. She was more unfriendly 2 weeks ago than today.
No aloha spirit. Our guests appeared to be happy with their food, the fish in fish and chips was dry but the batter is nice. Our wait person was very sweet.
Made reservation for inside. Ended up outside, was told to take it or leave it or wait an hour. Wasn’t busy at first, but got busier through the evening. No veal. But was told the hostess should have told us - she didn’t. Had two different chicken plates, they were excellent!!
Food was very good. The steak was delicious. Definitely worth the price.
Server was excellent. Chef accommodated my picky kids Food was just OK. Esp. For the prices. Disappointed nothing was included with the entrees—No Bread service despite it being Italian. No dinner salad options. So it was just OK and I think it’s pricey for being completely a la carte given the food being just good and not great.
Food was great. Would highly recommend it. Would go back to visit.
The food was awful!
One of the dishes The noodles were under cooked and the taste was dull and under seasoned. Just basic salt would have improved the dish.
The other main dish was cold and the Alfredo sauce came out green in color with little to no taste. With the exception of mousse and ice cream all the other desserts were unavailable!
Food was just ok.
Had the fresh catch and it was drowned in butter— just too much/ too rich.
Great ambiance! Reasonable vegetarian choices. Good drink options.
We had a wonderful evening. My chicken cannelloni was awesome and the bread was fabulous! Great service great food and a nice relaxed vibe. I would definitely go there again.
Lovely dinner for our last night on Maui.
Pricey and portions small.
This is a decent choice depending on what other options you have. Dinner was tasty and the servers were hustling. We were seated on time. We would not go out of our way to eat here again, but it’s close to the Wailea resorts if you want a walkable option.
I did lot find it as horrible as the other reviews. I had the cauliflower, spinach, artichokes, and calamari. My boyfriend thought everything was bland. I don’t use that much salt so I thought ok. But not as flavorful as other places I have been to in Maui. I wouldn’t waste your money, but it’s not horrible
Service was incredibly slow. Ordered drinks
Took 15 minutes
Ordered artichoke, salads and I had chicken piccata and he had fettuccini
Artichoke came in 45 min
Main coarse came 1.5 hours since arrival.
Salads were delivered after main coarse
Chicken piccata was a fried hockey puck drowning in lemon juiced sludge
Fettuccine was an abomination. Awful.
The only thing that saved our meal was we love and enjoy each others company.
Not that we really cared that the couple next to us came and hour after us and left just before us with the same amount of courses, it just made it all the more obvious.
Won’t be returning.
food is not the best small serving.waiter only bring bread when we asked.
We ordered the pesto chicken cannelloni. It was average at best. No flavor whatsoever. Cute place in the Shops at Wailea but the food was disappointing.
We really enjoyed our food. Had the Longhi Shrimp which was very good. Also had Rigatoni Bolognase which was delicious.
We read a number of recent, poor reviews on this place but decided to try it anyway. We were pleasantly surprised. Our server, Xena, was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was good - not amazing, but good. I had the caneloni and my husband had the fish special. Caneloni could have had a bit more flavor but it was good. The fish was delicious but the portion was on the smaller side. It's Maui so everything is pricey, regardless of where you go. But all in all a pleasant experience and no reason at all to avoid this place.
Food was okay, not great and not bad, just okay. Our server was very nice. The older woman at the hostess stand needs to be nicer, but honestly seemed very flustered by the number of people and parties to be seated.
I’m not sure about the menu items since this is Hawaii, but none of the dishes would survive on the east coast. You can’t order chicken parm with pasta, it has to come with gnocchi and so does the veal, eggplant and all the other dishes. The kids portions are very small for the price. And their version of a Bolognese sauce is terrible. The dish is called rigatoni bolognese and it comes with penne. Probably the worst Italian food I have had in a very, long, long time. Next time we will order from the pizza shop as I will bet it will come out better. They need to revamp that menu and try harder.
The NY steak was not good. Mahi was okay. Would not come back.
Food and place were great however, the best part was our waiter Cameron... he is awesome and made our day a special one indeed.
Great food. Service seemed a little rushed. We got our entrees before the appetizer. Some of that is forgivable in the COVID-era I suppose, but at this price point they should have it figured out.
The open air atmosphere, our server Sparkle, THE FOOD!!! Everything was so perfect for our family vacation meal. We loved it so much we made a reservation to come back in a few days!
Food was not great. No flavor in any of the dishes. Service was very rushed.
Good food, a little overpriced
Wife’s 50th birthday. Ambiance great outside especially with COVID. Service was slow but they were understaffed so can’t blame our server. She was nice. Cocktails took a while and first round watered down likely because it was sitting for 15 mins. Next round okay. Steaks were cook to order. I eat rare and it was. Cool center. Just as I like it. Slight accident with the server but she did her best to reconcile the issue. Manager came out and was very professional. Overall okay experience at this restaurant. I’ll go back and give another chance. 3 of 5 stars overall this visit.
Very hard for us not to like food— but crab cake was hands down the worst we’ve ever had. Couldn’t taste any crab, overwhelming seasoning. Steak was poorer quality than grilling at home with mashed potatoes sub par to frozen grocery store kind. Took forever to even be greeted by a waiter, finally had to eyeball them down to be acknowledged. Waiter softened up and showed a little personality towards the end—don’t know if they were understaffed due to Covid or what—but the service and food quality do not justify the prices whatsoever. Definitely a disappointment/do not recommend. Menu online and their physical menu also mention lobster, but they have no lobster..?
Food was great. Beautiful space. Lots of butter but still delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Good to be back at Longhis. This was our first dining experience in more than a year.
The service was extremely slow and on their menu both in person and online it lists lobster but they did not have it.
This place is not what it used to be. It used to be a center of fine dining in in Lahaina. Now it’s a strip mall quality restaurant.
