Went for happy hour. Drinks were good and everyone in party liked the happy hour menu options and thought the food was good.
Have been regulars at Longhi’s since opening night in Wailea. Have made it an annual stop. Service was not as attentive as in the past, and the food was bland. Disappointed.
Had a reservation but had to wait an additional 15 minutes. Food was horrible. Server acted like the couldn’t care less about us. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Amazing food- a must go while in Maui. Sad there was no lamb on the menu for my husband.
Waitress was busy and inattentive. Valet parking is nice tho. Rather cool and breezy until they pulled down the blinds.
Birthday celebration was wonderful
We were led to our table immediately. The server was friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks and a salad to share. The waiter brought us pizza bread which was delicious. I especially liked the bread with the green chilies. We also shared our entree, the Mahi Mahi. The fish was fine but we didn’t care for it as much as the Mahi Mahi we had at other restaurants in the area.
Excellent service We found the stuffed artichoke delicious and the steamed clams were tasty The Tuscan ribs were a bit too dry
We went for a late dinner and had no problems getting a reservation. We were seated at a lovely table outside. Our waiter, Dan, was excellent! Making recommendations regarding food, and waiting patiently for us to decide on a wine.
My husband’s veal piccata was excellent!
I ordered calamari, which was so-so.
As well, another appetizer, king crab with citrus which was delicious! I would order that again!
My only complaint was that our food came out before we had gotten our bottle of wine— the veal was toasty hot but the calamari was lukewarm at best, served with very little sauce and the flour breading was just kind of yucky— no flavor.
I need to remember that calamari is rarely done well anywhere.. and this was in that category.
Overall, Maui shuts down early so later dinners are not always the way to go.
On vacation in Maui and liked it so much on our first visit we booked and went again on our last night. Really a good restaurant typical Italian fare but great venue and service. Their fettuccini Longhi and mahi-mahi longhi were both great. The Belgian endive salad should not be missed it is great
Nice but not the same as previous vidits
we come here several times while on island, very good and consistant,
mimosa could be bigger they are served in champagne flute other places serve in larger glasses but they are very good
food is great, fresh air, staff is always friendly
LONG wait between ordering and actually getting breakfast. With the restaurant practically empty, waiting the better part of an hour made no sense. Also, although the locally grown coffee brewed in a French press has always been a welcome option, recently the execution falls far short: the grind is much too fine to use in a French press, and too much coffee is put into the press.
Service was kind, but slow. Food was mediocre at best. Bread was good... but not worth the money or time
We were disappointed with quantity and quality of shrimp Venice...strange to be served with mashed potatoes and no veg to add any colour to dish....beer was warm, capuccino only half a cup and barely warm....server a little disinterested
Not eager to return....did not feel it was worth the prices.
Food was mediocre very good service but not good ambiance.
Great service and food
Filet was tender and perfectly cooked. The mahi mahi (catch of the day) was equally delicious. Tiramisu was a perfect way to wrap up the meal.
Had an awesome meal and overall experience for mr birthday. Waiter was awesome, good was great. Had the lobster longhis for 4 people plus some others. As good as it looks online. They also make a great old fashion, according to my drinking partner. Would recommend.
The food is fantastic, the wine list is very good and the atmosphere is very nice. We love this restaurant
we love coming here everytime we are on maui
the food is great, sometimes a long wait but very worth it
drinks are good and their homemade bread is fab
Slow, slow service. Not one to complain but this was exceptionally bad. Came for a working lunch and had to flag down the server for everything from ordering, drinks, check just so we could get back to work after 1.5 hours.
Great server. Food was delicious. We’ve gone to the Oahu location as well
Great food for decades on Maui. Classic Italian with a twist. Good outdoor location, but no views.
Great service. Great food
Sub par food for the price. Slow service with no apology. Tables around us were also complaining.
Longhi’s used to be my favorite place to go — I’ve spent so many birthdays and holidays here. However, the menu has drastically changed, and I don’t plan on returning. I believe I had the Lombardi — waaaaaaaay too many peas + the prosciutto was pretty bad. Also: no more pizza bread at lunch & there’s been a switch to Pepsi products (not a huge fan but that’s my personal preference) It makes me want cry, because I truly loved this place and recommended it to all my friends when they visited. However, I can’t see myself returning.
EDIT: now that I know that the owner didn’t give any notice to the employees in the Lahaina location they were closing and they just showed up to work one day with closed doors — I will NEVER give them my business again. It’s such a shame, because Longhi’s used to be a place with consistently good food and a great atmosphere.
Food ok- nothing special- way overpriced
Employees attentive and cheerful
Packed with families with rude kids
We arrived at 8:30 we were seated relatively promptly but no service to the table for the first 10 minutes we were there then a waiter leaned over and said I’ll be right over and 20 minutes later we never saw anybody. We were there for an annual New Year’s Eve dinner where we have ordered lobster longhi for 6 years running....we were ready to enjoy a $200 dinner but instead we walked out due to the poor service. There was no notice on their website about the special menu seating for 9 and 930 either. Bob would have never allowed poor service to happen. The restaurant has been steadily declining - quality and space- we counted over 15 overhead bulbs out! We decided we’d have to start another NYE tradition at a new restaurant next year. It’s really too bad as my fiancée has been coming to Longhi’s for over 20 years and introduced me to it.
We went for New Year’s Eve so of course a busy night. Had to wait for our table ok no problem. Service was just poor that night. Our waiter made several comments about how bad everything was going that night. Then proceeds to ignore us. (After he gave me the iPad for the wine list he didn’t come back for close to 15 mins). Yet the table that was sat after us he got their order brought them bread. Finally the manager came over and took our drink order. Once we ordered we had to ask for the bread. Food came out was just lukewarm and he forgot a meal. 10 mins later the last meal came Time to pay the bill and more complaining from the server about how busy it is and can he leave with us.
Visited on NYE with wife and kids. Terrible waiter. No greeting, no specials, no welcome. Came to our table, first words “What do you want to drink?” Ok... ordered drinks. Drinks arrived. Waiter comes back, again, not a welcoming phrase, nothing about are you ready. Next words “What do you want to eat?” Seriously. If he upset about working on NYE, it’s not helping his tops or mood to have a crappy attitude. It wasn’t us. We saw him act this way with other tables as well. It was such a contrast to the waiter at the next table who sounded awesome. I almost tipped him! I left about 8% tip on a $220 bill for the “work” or taking the order and bringing the food and drinks. Tips are based on level of service and not a guarantee if you perform badly. I’m a usual 25-30% for good service. It’s a tough industry. Tried to get his name, but couldn’t. No name tag either. Will not be back and will ensure I leave an honest review so others can decide if they want to spend their money here as well.
Server made over 3 errors for our party of 6. Missed one appetizer, brought a wrong drink and did not do one walk by to ask how the food was. Very inattentive.
4 different dishes—all had zero taste and was bad—server was great but food quality terrible—have been to 5 different restaurants during our stay on Maui—last night here—food terrible—will never go back or recommend to other people. Very Disappointed!!!!
Most South Maui restaurants are expensive, so we always check the menu posted to OpenTable to make sure we know what we're getting ourselves into. Longhi's has a menu posted with prices more than $10 per item less than what's on the in-restaurant version. We brought this to our server's attention, and she said they recently raised their prices and hadn't had a chance to change the online menu. This is unacceptable, and possibly illegal. (I'm not an expert on Hawaii consumer law.) Regardless, we were there and hungry, so we ordered a chicken dish. The texture of the chicken was just terrible. We don't know if it was undercooked or just bad meat, but it was terrible. We advise stay away.
We ate a Longhi’s twice on this trip. We enjoyed fresh fish both times. In addition to the quality of the fish we enjoyed the distinctive and original preparations. They also offer a selection of interesting vegetables. The service was always friendly and efficient. The setting was pleasant and quiet.
Food was outstanding. Service was excellent. The chef accommodated a special request which was very much appreciated. Highly recommend!!!
Nice restaurant with good atmosphere but food is only fair. Room for improvement in that department. Service, however, is excellent. We had a very attentive waiter.
Enjoyed a very pleasant meal
